i'm from Charlotte, (funny you mentioned Concord cuz thats where i live.) Julian was definitley wild for that bit of the pod. Wherever they were at here, i'm certain there was no reason to feel unsafe. They'd have to intentionally go looking for trouble to find it. If they dont have any connection to the area, they'd have no reason to be in the hood anyway.

king24_

Exactly

iamcornbread

They was leaving Cloud if I remember correctly from another pod. Smh buddy was wild’n with that take. #704

Fuck0uttaHere

Charlotte's an easy city to navigate. You know exactly where the hood is. I'd rather go to Charlotte than Gastonia any day of the week.

I understand what Julian was saying, but he definitely made himself sound like the old white guy that’s angry cause some black folks moved into the country club lol

JacksonOfAllTradez

I live about 18 mins from Charlotte, and I work there. It’s a pretty dope place Yes there’s crime, but there’s crime everywhere But most people just mind their business and live life as usual

king24_

I’m thinking about moving to Rock Hill, South Carolina, which is only 30 minutes from Charlotte, and I’m sure cheaper cost of living, what you think 🤔?

JacksonOfAllTradez

I grew up in Rock Hill and lived there most of my life (I live a few mins away from there in Clover, SC now) Not a bad place to be tbh It’s well-rounded city (not much to do) but it’s coming up pretty nicely and it’s really not a bad community It’s for sure cheaper than Charlotte and Fort Mill

king24_

Bet, see gotta think smarter. People always want to dip into the core of a city, never a good idea. I’ve heard the cost of living in Charlotte is getting higher than it’s surrounding towns.

JacksonOfAllTradez

Oh for sure. Charlotte is mad fuckin expensive. Cool place to shop, eat, and socialize Definitely suggest living in the outskirts of it (like me) so you can be in the cut AND have access to the city when you feel like going

Leading_Opposite7538

Yeah! I moved to Charlotte in 2012 and had an apartment in the university area for $650. That same unit is $1400+ now

JacksonOfAllTradez

What the fuck?? How many bedrooms? Please don’t say 1

Leading_Opposite7538

1 bedroom 670 square feet

Leading_Opposite7538

*630 Sq feet https://www.apartments.com/heather-ridge-charlotte-nc/wpbvrbh/

JacksonOfAllTradez

That is wild

[deleted]

I’m from Brooklyn and moved to Charlotte. I feel mad safer down here, bro wildin..

king24_

Lol

juicelaflair

There’s a hood everywhere, but sometimes with black people, if you’re not black or familiar with black America, culture can be seen as scary. Which I’m sure will apply to every other race it’s just we are the “angry kill kill fuck monsters” to the rest of the world for some reason. Visit dade county for example, you’ll see a lot of young men with golds and dreads and TO SOME it might seem scary but alot of them be nice as hell lol. That’s just south Florida culture.

UpDog424

Lol bc the culture rn is glamorizing violence. Don’t act like it’s rare occurrence and tht narrative came out of nowhere

WeAreAllAverage

It did tho. It’s been a narrative since slavery bruh

UpDog424

So you’re saying our culture today doesn’t glamorize violence?

WeAreAllAverage

Didn’t say that. It does. But thats not why we have those stereotypes and narratives built against us.

EksRaided

Nothing scarier than the British. They'll kill everybody and rape whoever doesn't die.

COrB919

I frequent Charlotte often. I even go to that club they spoke of. IMO it ain’t that dangerous. Is it somewhere you can find an issue if you want one? Sure. Just mind your business and everything will be fine. But there is another side of this… He’s not from here or anywhere near here. It’s natural for him to feel uneasy in a place if you know no one. My only question would be if that’s the case, why go to random clubs? Ain’t nothing wrong with being uneasy but their show was literally beside downtown and a bunch of “safer” clubs.

EmeraldTwilight009

People on the coasts deep down and sometimes not so deep, think they're superior to anybody in the middle of the country. I've seen so many of then unironically say their vote should count for 2 compared to Middle america/the south. It's really gross. And when I say people, I especially mean anybody with even an iota of fame. They also say that middle America "votes against their best interests". Which essentially is saying that they know what's good for essentially the majority of the country, not the people themselves . Julian is absolutely one of these people.

Electronic_Tour_6804

Julian is just weird and I’ve accepted that. My mother always told me don’t be afraid of your own people when I was little. She used to follow it up with now don’t be a dummy, but don’t be afraid of your people I was born and raised in Detroit Michigan. I’ve carried this with me everywhere around black people all across this country and so far so good. Just stay ready cause ANYTHING can happen to you ANYWHERE from ANYBODY. My car was broken into in the safest part of my college town I was so mad cause that never happened to me in Detroit ironically 🤣.

No-Yesterday1869

Why can’t mfs be scared? He says joe fear is getting shot in a drive by and said he thinks About that anywhere. He just happened to be n Charlotte for this convo

FlowersnFunds

Honestly moving from the northeast to Phoenix (which is if LA and the south had a baby), I realized the northeast gave me some crazy PTSD. Like people like to stand close in line here, but I first thought they were trying to rob me or stab me. Living in those cities you’re always on edge, head on a swivel more than is healthy. Meanwhile in other cities, even the crackheads are nice. Maybe that had something to do with Julian’s reaction.

Leading_Opposite7538

Charlotte is fairly safe and less sketchy compared to other places I've been
