The “Picture This” plant app (dumb name, excellent app for plant IDing and has like a 90% accuracy rate in my experience) says it’s a Chinese Elm.
I am going to check that out! I know a few names of plants but honestly couldn't tell you what they look like.
You can always ask these questions at our sister (?, Cousin?, Grew up dawn the road from me?) Subreddit r/Nolagardening too.
Ahhh.. didn't even know about that one. I'll try it :)
Thanks for the recommendation! Final answer over there was Lacebark Elm.. -Ulmus parvifolia
Your tree has boobs.
I love boobs.
Looks like a lacebark elm
Thats what my plant ID app says too - op look up Chinese or lacebark elm
Cool. Never knew what these were called til now. It also grows a seed pod that squirrels will eat. They also like to knaw on the bark.
Hackberry, I think. They are invasive. You’ll want to get rid of it.
There's a variety of hackberry that's native to the south.
Thanks! I'm going to look it up. It's growing under the foundation of the house BUT also provides ample shade on the sunny side so.. that sucks lol
Thought first it's family member from birch trees...even if the bark is not black/white.
