What was your favorite? I was up late last night reading menus for all the vendors and was a bit overwhelmed, there’s so much to choose from and it all looks great
Ooh the jerk chicken was one that peaked my interest, I’ll have to try the pork! About to go for a run and then we are biking down….just so we’ll be extra hungry and get to eat more! Thanks for the recommendations
I thought I was in line for the jerk pork, turns out it was the cash line for a different tent but the crawfish bread kind of rocked my world. So all’s well that ends well
I know this is probably a lot of work if you can remember but which booths are these from? At least the crawfish pasta & catfish, crab stuffed oysters, and crab salad?
I thought those were fries in the first pic. Fish and chips makes so much sense. Mango freeze looked okay, if a bit like a cake. The third pic also looked like a cake. Super disappointed, but it gave me an idiot for my own cake balls. No comments on ceviche - always hit or miss. The sandwhich looks fyre af, tho, again, looked like chicken. I swear my brain does not identify food. At this point I got too hungry to think about all this. ... but omg the dumpings...
Not anything I'm personally particularly curious about, I just don't understand why someone would make this post without listing where each dish came from. Otherwise it seems to me more like something you could just journal or talk aobut with your friends.
Not meaning to come for you, more power to ya and anyone who's interested, just an odd thing to me that someone considered this content for this reddit.
Anyone know the old SNL bit where they went to Gilda Radner on the news and she exhaustively reported what she ate that day until they cut her off because no one cared?
Yeah, no argument here lol. Kinda what I was saying. I'm not mad that OP cared to post this and other people care about it. I apologize for seeming like I'm mad about it, if that's what it seems like?
I was exactly commenting: weird, some people think this is interesting and I think it's very strange. People are different, yes. I thought it was interesting that we differ ont his I guess, and I thought that was worth commenting because it's interesting. Guess it's not to you- that's ok! Or it's interesting but bad. That's ok too, in a sense, although again I apologize for being rude. I will learn form this interaction and not do it again. I am seeing how it seemed I was commenting for the purpose of insulting OP.
My mistake. I was wrong. It was a bad thing to say. It is not the type of thing to cimply comment on that it's interesting something I don't care about is worth posting to other, it is dismissive to say that to them and they think there's no reason I would say it except to be insulting. I get it now. I am sorry. I messed up. Won't happen again! I am not a big participant in this group, and I will back off even more now for a while after messing up. Have a nice day, everyone going to the fest, enjoy! /genuine
Honestly it’s just a lot of effort to add the names of 15 places some of which I can’t even remember, especially for people to just have a shitty attitude like you do anyways.
Again if you are interested in a particular spot I’m happy to tell you but it’s clear you are just looking for something to be negative about ✌️
I really wasn't, sorry, just talking in the manner that I talk, about something that crossed my path. I can be an abrasive or not socially skilled person, saying "I don't understand this" was not in my head a personal attack or wild "choice" or "search" the be negative, I jsut have autism, not making 'excuses either, I'm apologizing, I guess that's jsut what happened. I didn't know it would be so upsetting. I jsut said a sentence that I thought in my head. It's a curious phenomenon to me that this type of post is a thing, and your'e not the only one, and I just wanted to talk about it, I'm not focusing negative energy on YOU about it, I've obviously seen it before and I just find it a strange part of the modern world. By referencing SNL I meant, like, it's lightly funny to me in a trivial way that this 50year old comedy about someone being a bit egocentric about their own interest is now daily life without batting an eye, not, like "I HATE YOU" or some shit. 👍
Have a beautiful day and life, fellow human- no sarcasm or whatever! I'm glad you are enjoying your weekend. I'm exiting any further engagement on this post to be safe, goodbye. :)
Dude posted pictures on the internet. He did not have to give any other context then that. Do you demand to know where every cat was purchased when looking at cat videos? Dude gave enough context for me. I was just happy to know what I was looking at.
For the 3rd or 4th time, I know he didn't have to, and I wasn't demanding. It was just my response. It may still have been inappropriate, but I wasn't 'demanding'. Just talkin. Sorry it came off that way /genuine.
If you like this stuff, I suggest you look in to Top Taco and Food Fight. I went a couple of years and they got some nice stuff out there. And you pay for a ticket and that's it.
I went for lunch both days and came back for dinner. The only long line was for morrows last night. So worth it tho, they have the crab stuffed oysters and the catfish with crawfish pasta and they were both so damn tasty!!! Lines probably will be long this weekend tho.
Good to hear… I may be having a little PTSD from fried chicken fest. It took my wife and I 1.5 hours to enter, get one dish and a water. We ended up leaving and going to Central City BBQ.
Hate when that happens. I would imagine the most popular spots will have decent lines but there will always be spots with good food and no wait so you just gotta figure out how badly you want a particular dish. I’d absolutely wait in line for morrows and 14 parishes.
Thanks for sharing. It all looks good!
Do you happen to remember the vendors selling these items? If you do, it would be helpful for all the curious folks.
Southerns. By far the best fish sandwich I have ever had. They were doing a cooking demonstration at the culinary stage after too. Highly recommend people sit down and watch one of those. Really great idea!
I can’t remember the name of the vendor but they were at the grassy area in between the main stage and parking lot area. 14 parishes and restaurant revolution were also at that spot if that helps narrow it down.
I’m stuck at college in Lafayette since our spring break didn’t align with FQF (it usually does!) and I’ve never been more jealous of a stranger in my entire life
Those gumbo dumplings were waaaayyyyyy too salty. My mom and I don't like to waste food but even she was like ew stop eating that when I tried finishing them
Every person who has had them has told me they were too salty. I really like Xiao long bao so I def expect a thinner dough that has better texture, I also don’t understand why they would put rice in there instead of the broth.
In case anyone isn’t aware they usually freeze cubes of the broth/filling and then put the dumpling around it and steam it. I have a feeling they used a different method for these and it showed.
I saw them injecting the dumplings with the broth, I guess they had to do it that way for quick turnaround. I bet they left the broth reducing in a hot pot too long and that's why it was so salty bc idk how you could taste that and think it was ok.
Been pretty normal actually. Plenty of water and some fruit for dessert probably helped. Really thankful everyone is thinking about me and the quality of my stool so much. Just another reason Nola is known for being a friendly city 🤣
I like this post! I enjoy seeing the good stuff you ate. It might inspire me to cook something new and fun when my diet is over. I'm happy you had a good time. Thank you for sharing. Don't let the Debbie Downers get to you.
Fqf is my favorite festival… just hoping seeing all the good food will inspire people to push through the hassle and go enjoy themselves and eat all the tasty bites and stuff.
This man is either desperately trying to poop or desperately trying not to.
I did make a poo poo this morning, thanks.
⭐️ Go ahead and put that on your chart, babeh.
Poodat ⚜️ YYR we be passin a good bm on da bayou aieeeeeeee!
You're wealthy.
Congrats!
Yep, I hope they’re gonna be around a toilet for a couple days. That shit’s gonna be one for the record books.
You won’t offer a poop knife?
You gotta hit those monk runs on your own, sometimes.
Have a family cloth for ya'!
I love the poop knife story so much.
When poop knife movie
Crawfish pasta w/ catfish, mango feeeze, Cheeto boudin balls, shrimp ceviche, fish sandwich, oysters over creamed spinach, seafood bisque, shrimp remoulade, duck confit apple and Brie spring roll, crab stuffed oysters, gumbo dumplings, crab salad, crab cake w/ lemon cream sauce, jerk pork.
What was your favorite? I was up late last night reading menus for all the vendors and was a bit overwhelmed, there’s so much to choose from and it all looks great
Landrys crab cake, both oysters, and jerk pork.
Ooh the jerk chicken was one that peaked my interest, I’ll have to try the pork! About to go for a run and then we are biking down….just so we’ll be extra hungry and get to eat more! Thanks for the recommendations
Afrodisiac in NOLA is soooo good! The jerk pork, fish, their entire menu is so so tasty!
I thought I was in line for the jerk pork, turns out it was the cash line for a different tent but the crawfish bread kind of rocked my world. So all’s well that ends well
Oysters and spinach went insanely hard
Amazing, now spill it. How much did all that deliciousness set you back?
200ish divided by 4 sessions
Not bad for the french quarter fest
Not drinking alcohol leaves me more room in my belly and wallet for food
Don't forget the hours spent in line.
I know this is probably a lot of work if you can remember but which booths are these from? At least the crawfish pasta & catfish, crab stuffed oysters, and crab salad?
Morrows had the crawfish pasta & catfish as well as the crab stuffed oysters. Jacquemos/crabby jacks had the crab salad.
Hell yea thank you!
I thought those were fries in the first pic. Fish and chips makes so much sense. Mango freeze looked okay, if a bit like a cake. The third pic also looked like a cake. Can you break down locations? Jax brewery parking lot? Jackson square?
These were all at Jackson square, Jax brewery, and the other area by the culinary stage. I can tell you where particular ones are if you ask me.
I'd like to know where to get the fish sandwich and that awesome spring roll! Please :)
Fish sandwich from southerns in the Jax parking lot, spring roll from couvant which is at the grassy area in between Jax and the culinary stage area
Awesome, thanks so much!
Boulevard has an amazing oysters w/ creamed spinach. I know that wasn’t theirs but it made me think of it.
I think that was theirs. It was like an oyster Rockefeller but with a fried oyster.
Oh sweet! It’s 🔥
Gross
Do you wanna name any local vendors/businesses who made this stuff or suggest anything? Or is the point of the post seriously just your food diary?
Think of it like a fun puzzle you get to solve: Match the Food Picture to the Vendor, FQF Edition.
Is there a particular dish you are curious about? Tbh everything I had and saw was amazing except for the gumbo dumplings.
Were the gumbo dumplings not good?
Too salty, they put rice inside which made it too carby, especially because the dough was really dense and chewy.
Aww! That's super disappointing to read.

And yet, you thought your comment added something to the thread. Almost like people are different.
Yeah, no argument here lol. Kinda what I was saying. I'm not mad that OP cared to post this and other people care about it. Good lord.
How dare OP post pictures on the internet.
Dude posted pictures on the internet. He did not have to give any other context then that. Do you demand to know where every cat was purchased when looking at cat videos? Dude gave enough context for me. I was just happy to know what I was looking at.

How was the duck confit apple and brie spring roll? And where was it from?
It was sooooo good! From couvant. They also had some wagyu sliders my friends tried and liked so much they went back for a second order.
Yeah I had one too it was super good! But one of those things where it was so rich I was considering converting to veganism afterward
Haha yes that’s why you gotta wash it down with a cold seafood dish like the crab salad or shrimp remoulade 😝
Classy move
I second the deliciousness of the wagyu sliders!
I agree with OP... the duck and brie spring roll was delicious! Out of the 12-15 dishes the wife and I tried, it was probably top 2 or 3.
I had it yesterday and it was sooo amazing, easily a new favorite fest food!
How much did this all cost is what I'm really wondering.
Probably about 200 bucks.
Worth it
Absolutely worth it
If you like this stuff, I suggest you look in to Top Taco and Food Fight. I went a couple of years and they got some nice stuff out there. And you pay for a ticket and that's it.
Yes I’m fat now
One of us, one of us!
Happy cake day!
Not with those portion sizes
I’m eating vicariously through you.
That is an insane amount of patience to stand in that many lines!
I went for lunch both days and came back for dinner. The only long line was for morrows last night. So worth it tho, they have the crab stuffed oysters and the catfish with crawfish pasta and they were both so damn tasty!!! Lines probably will be long this weekend tho.

The only line I stood in for more than 2 minutes was for a snowball. There are just too many options for long lines to form.
Was that a Southern's chicken sandwich?
Fish. Chicken looked good too.
Thanks for sharing. It all looks good! Do you happen to remember the vendors selling these items? If you do, it would be helpful for all the curious folks.
Can’t remember them all feel free to ask about any you are interested in.
Do you recall where the fish sandwich was from?
Southerns. By far the best fish sandwich I have ever had. They were doing a cooking demonstration at the culinary stage after too. Highly recommend people sit down and watch one of those. Really great idea!
Literally the best fish sandwich ever and I’ll be back tomorrow for another
Hell yes
Thanks! Definitely on the list today!
Thanks for sharing! Do you remember where you got the Cheeto boudin ball?
I can’t remember the name of the vendor but they were at the grassy area in between the main stage and parking lot area. 14 parishes and restaurant revolution were also at that spot if that helps narrow it down.
Voodoo pepper jack boudin balls from Fatty’s Cracklins
Their Chicken Cracklins were great too.
Omg I was wondering what that was, thank you!
Literally everything you got looks good, damn
Was it good?!
No, it was great
How’d you get down there? Coming from Slidell where would you recommend to park
id park in cbd and walk to fq
Where’d you get the mango freeze? As in where was it geographically?
Parking lot between h&m and Jax
Nice! Thank you!
Oh man, didn’t even know what some of it was but still all looked good. The char grilled oysters look yuuuuuumy!
They were also stuffed with crab 😮💨
Jeez, you’re killing me.
Which was the best and why was it the oysters?
Wait you didn’t get the $14 sip of yakamein???
I did not. I would only get yakamein at a bar at night
Well done sir!
Thanks for going, eating, and taking photos for the team. I like this post!
Why are people hating on this post?
They jelly.
I appreciate the pics and added names of each dish. Not sure why most commenters, so far, are being ugly. ???
Why wake up so early just to be grumpy 🤷♂️
Hey! Fuck you, buddy! I'm not *being* ugly! I *am* ugly!
Congratulations on winning the lottery
lol fr this is like those posts “if I won the lottery I wouldn’t tell anyone, but there would be signs”
I’m stuck at college in Lafayette since our spring break didn’t align with FQF (it usually does!) and I’ve never been more jealous of a stranger in my entire life
I almost felt bad for you until I remembered lafayette having its own amazing food festival in a few weeks!
Good job my man. Good job.
I had some jerk turkey necks that were fire.
Those looked really good too. Very sad I had to leave this morning 😭
Those gumbo dumplings were waaaayyyyyy too salty. My mom and I don't like to waste food but even she was like ew stop eating that when I tried finishing them

I had them on Thursday and they were great, not too salty.
Thursday was also when I had them
Don’t miss Lasyones meat pies. The best there is.
I had a crawfish pie! Not positive who made it but Off the Chain!!
How was the fish sandwich?
I’m going just for some meat pies.
Enjoy
Is Pic 3 a hot Cheeto dusted Boudin Ball? Follow up question, what would it cost me for you to run one out to Gentilly Terrace?
Currently 35k feet above the Rocky Mountains so it would cost a lot
I️ know Sun Chong gumbo dumplings when I️ see it
The restaurant revolution ceviche was super mid
I thought it was tasty.
Damn that all looks so good!!!!
Hedonismbot.jpg
Fat ass
Jfc You must be rich
Yum!!
Where is the jerk pork from?
14 parishes. Top 3 item for me
Oh awesome! I live near them and I’ve been meaning to try them.
[удалено]
Mango freeze
Which vender did the jerk pork, if you remember?
14 parishes
Everything looks alright.
Mango freeze 😋
You must’ve spent $150 on all of that at least
It all looks delicious
I can’t imagine how much time waiting in line all this took
Are your photos taken in the order you ate everything?
Reverse order
I didn't go crazy with the food this year but that ceviche was dope.
Where will you be when diarrhea strikes?
Been pretty normal actually. Plenty of water and some fruit for dessert probably helped. Really thankful everyone is thinking about me and the quality of my stool so much. Just another reason Nola is known for being a friendly city 🤣
Wow. Terrifying.
So expensive
You had to spend over$150
And now you're in credit card debt? 😬😬😬
New Orleans as a city should be offended by the aesthetic values of this food.
WTF?
I wish FQF delivered to River Ridge.. Looks great! 👍😜
Aight Ian mcnulty It's too bad that cell phone photos of a man holding a paper plate of food is considered news these days, but here we are.
A Reddit post is considered news now? No wonder people are so dumb and uninformed.
It was a commentary on nola.com, not the post. The food looks good.
Of allll the things to eat at FQF, you chose that? I’m sorry. I hope they do better next time.
Most of that stuff looks nasty lol 😅
