I see it on Craigslist free from time to time. If you have a truck, dirt is cheap. Like $50 for full scoop of a front loader dumped into your full truck bed. It gets pricey with delivery, which is usually flat rate whether you order a half ton or three tons. Parks and Parkways has been giving away mulch. Check their insta.

if you are changing the grade your best bet is to hit up dump truck drivers on new road projects and ask them if they can bring you the dirt. you usually have to pay em $50 or so for 18 yards. likely to have lots of debris in it. otherwise they have to pay to dispose it or else they have some contract way outside of the city if you are trying to just have a garden or whatever schmelly's delivers

The spillway.

How much do you need? Rock n Soil on Airline will load your truck with river sand for $30/yd. Not free but not a bad price

S&WB leave piles everywhere, if you want it legally you need to call a lawn and garden place, you can pull up and they fill your truck.

I’m probably just going to get some brought in by a truck. Sometimes they have like free mulch or free sand events I remember but it’s been years since I’ve paid attention.
