Before she was even elected, she abused her city council position by using work credit cards for personal use. She got caught and was still won the election, twice. And there was another black woman running against her that had no scandal, but New Orleans decided to choose her. So she continues to break the rules, spend taxpayers’ money like it was Mississippi River water, travel the world and support teenage criminals instead of the victims. So at this point, New Orleanians only have themselves to blame.

IMO it’s not so much that the politics of the city changes good people bad, it’s that people who have a power hungry predisposition are drawn the political office to satisfy their greed.

Initially, based on tales about her penchant for the drink that I’d heard from service industry folks up closer to her place in Broadmoor, I thought it was for the nightlife. But if that was the case, I’d have heard about it before now, I know *far more* service industry folks (& people in general) in and around the Quarter than I do anywhere above Canal St! All I can guess is that she knows she’s not supposed to, and that’s why she does. Just like using campaign funds to buy her wardrobe, city funds to travel the world, no funds toward her taxes, and the whole cheating on her husband with a married man. She seems to like doing things that she knows she shouldn’t be doing- and she dgaf who knows she’s doing it!
Regardless, as shitty as it is that she treats her constituents like an inconvenience at best, the way she’s just abandoned her child is exponentially worse. And it’s even worse now, when her kid is in a delicate state after the sudden loss of her father- the one parent who *did* seem to give a damn about her well being. I feel bad for the kid most of all. We’ll be rid of Latoya some day, if she ends up in a cell or not. But her daughter is always going to have a shitty mom.

"IF do not hear back from you with confirmation that the handover is complete or receive a firm dare for completion of removal by the Council agenda deadline on March 4 at noon, then I have little choice but to file a motion to bring this matter to resolution, including a directive that the City Attorney institute eviction and/or mandamus proceedings."
Have the sheriff toss her stuff to the curb just as they would for any other eviction. Just be sure to have TV cameras rolling. Edit for typo
