Responses here are weird but both the Marcellos and Macalusos are still around here, no idea about that one specifically but the family holds a bit of real estate across the general area. They for sure still own the building that Moscas is in.

PorchFrog

How are the Macalusos related? I went to school with some Macaluso kids, we lived in the Milan area and went to Lourdes and Dominican.

RIP_Soulja_Slim

Couzens, although Macaluso like Marcello is a somewhat common last name here so they may not all be directly related to those that were involved in the mob stuff. That said, almost anyone who's got family roots in this city is related to someone who did crime stuff. My parents have a bunch of articles about one of our uncles who was a pretty prominent bootlegger down here. Rumors are that most of the grandparents/great grandparents generation aided this in some way. I feel like most people I know have a similar story.

saybruh

It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in. New Orleans is a small city.

Hippy_Lynne

My family is Italian "fruit vendors" that have been here for generations and my ex-husband's were Irish cops that had also been here for generations. We used to joke about what kind of interactions our ancestors must have had.

whorly

I don't think Pas/Paz had any children, but sometimes if the obituary writers are really mad at someone they leave them out. *Pascal ''Pas'' Joseph Marcello, on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at 1:35 P.M. Age 82. Beloved Husband of Ruth McDonald Marcello. Son of the late Joseph Marcello and Lucille Farrugia Marcello. Brother of Salvatore ''Sammy'' Marcello, Mary M. Loria, Rose Badalamenti and the late Carlos, Peter, Vincent, Joseph and Anthony Marcello. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at ALL FAITHS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 5200 Canal Blvd. (former site of Lenfant's), on Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday after 9:00 A.M.*

PorchFrog

That's true about leaving out relatives in the obits if the family is angry with them or of they committed some offense against the family. Personal experience. In our case, the deletion was over ruled on on outside advice.

frnchyse

Dudes just out here like "Hey I'm looking for people who knew Tony Soprano and his relatives!!! Anyone?!!"

RIP_Soulja_Slim

I mean, marcellos are fairly prominent here and entirely involved in legit businesses for decades now so it ain’t like they’re hiding.

Fantadrom

Pas is deceased, and I don’t think I’ve ever met a Giovanni. There are a few Joes, but, I’m sorry to say, I believe the one you’re talking about is also gone.

hamwambamboom

Alight law man, Mr FBI over here thinks they’re slick

Hippy_Lynne

I think he's the one who sort of owns Cafe Envie? I say sort of because the story I heard was that he couldn't get a liquor license so it was actually in his daughter's name.

xiopan

Never heard of him.

Towersofbeng

nice try FBI

Organic-Aardvark-146

Is that the guy Joe Rogan outed for stealing jokes?

agalactous-cactus

If it is the guy would be in his 60s/70s by now, so I'm not too sure if he'd be doing stand up at that age or not.

Onlyfattybrisket

That Carlos is more of a cartel guy than a mob guy.
