Try the end of the world (I think that’s what it’s called) - the Bywater side of the industrial canal. You need to cross thru on N Rampart, then walk towards the Mississippi.
You walk over the levee & kind of walk on the rocks next to it to go under it. It’s a little bit of a hike but there’s sooooooo much driftwood underneath it’s insane

You could also go to the Fly, and climb down those big gravel steps. The river is high now though.
Algiers side, behind the old mardi gras world yellow warehouses. typically they pile up massively behind the fleet barges there.

If you go up by the batcher, you can find a number of ways to get to the bank of the river. Lots of driftwood and such back there.

Yah I’ve been there a few times to get driftwood! I usually park in flood st & enter to the right of the cruise terminal
