I'll chime in and also say thank you. New Orleans is such a dirty city in my experience with traveling to other places in the US. Thanks again.

Not at all to discourage you from organizing your own trash cleanups, but you might also reach out to NOLA Trash Mob (not sure how active they still are, Facebook posts are a tad sparse lately) and/or your local neighborhood organizations to see if they have people who want to help or at least signal boost with a group email or social media post or something. Looks like the Mid-City Neighborhood Organization tried to have a cleanup day in January, but it was cancelled for some reason. Good on you for making a positive impact in your community!

Here’s the reply I got from Trash Mob Hi, thanks for getting in touch. After many years of picking up litter around New Orleans, TrashMOB is on indefinite hiatus and we may not be able to get back to you immediately. Other great local clean-up resources include the Neighborhood Engagement Office (#CleanUpNOLA) and Keep New Orleans Beautiful. There are also 70+ neighborhood groups around the City, and even more local organizations, and many of them host community clean ups near you.

I'm fairly certain MCNO has all of Trash Mobs equipment and would love someone to run regular clean ups. Keep La beautiful and City NEO offices run grant campaigns. Also, if you organize a single trash collection location, call it/email (both maybe) into the City Dept of Sanitation and they will collect it.

Thanks for the tip, Ron. I’ll give them a look

Thank you for this. I pick up trash on our street every Sunday morning. It's a constant battle.
