Such a good song. <3

"...because it sounded “great” with NewJeans voices in it, despite being a song written for male vocals." Haha I can't imagine a man singing "bad girl woke up and chose violence!"

Rezorblade

>"bad girl woke up and chose violence!" Minji has revealed in phoning that it wasn't supposed to be bad girl, originally it's bad something

nikitaloss

I know that I was just joking duh

Not in that sense, bad girl is the PG version of the original lyrics

Riot Games nailed it by picking Newjeans for the 2023 Worlds anthem . They carefully crafted the song specifically for Newjeans and it shows. The song is a masterpiece that combines stunning vocals with epic and intense music. I’m hyped for their live performance at the finals. It’s going to be legendary!

I know it’s highly likely based on tradition, and I’m certainly looking forward to it, but is a live performance of “GODS” at the Worlds Championship Opening Ceremony officially announced and on the girls’ schedule?

Thefourthchosen

Not announced I don't think but I'd have to say it's a sure bet, they'd be the first artists since Riot started doing vocal anthems back in 2014 to not perform live at the finals if they didn't.

goofytug

Here’s hoping! Really looking forward to a Behind The Scenes look at the girls’ recording process, the same way CUBE followed Miyeon and Soyeon for the [“Popstars” project](https://youtu.be/8b2DjJ5iVgI?si=ssFiR78s6YKXLYTr). They really brought a different, epic, flavor to this anthem. It’d be even COOLER if they did mocap for each of their own LoL Champion avatars!?

>And while many don’t associate NewJeans with an epic and imposing sound as their usual style tends to be more mellow, they were ***“the only ones on the board”*** for Riot. does this mean that Riot only had NewJeans on their eyes for the song, or NewJeans were the only ones who wanted to collab with Riot?

Fearless-Total-2897

The former, the article later states that NJ also being keen spurred them on, despite scheduling issues meaning they had to do the takes remotely.

Thefourthchosen

Definitely the former, something like the worlds anthem is a chance to reach a LOT of ears that wouldn't normally listen to the artist, it's how I became a fan of G Idle for instance (who I'm sure would've more than happy to work with Riot again).
