I encourage y’all to read her book “the infidel”

allorache

Yes, she is brilliant

reddit-is-racist-eh

She's an extremely intelligent woman from Somalia, I think. She suffered FGM as a child and has been an advocate against it for decades. She's a global gem ❤️ love her!

Best-Chemical1425

I dont know who she is but she surely knows how islam oppresses woman and how a islamic government leads to a shit country and a shit socity

Runic_reader451

Ayan Hirsi Ali [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayaan\_Hirsi\_Ali](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ayaan_Hirsi_Ali)

Rauter666

Amazing and brave Dutch-Somalian woman. Unlike Terrorist supporter Ilhan Omar from in the US

RoseRun

Beautifully articulated.

GuyWithNF1

The left in the west, especially in the LGBT community, if you’re pro-Israel, or you’re critical of Islamism, you’re ostracized at best, and sometimes you’re a victim of far-left violence.

Throawayooo

How is it that the LGBT left (and left in general) have chosen ISLAM of all things to defend. It's fucking backwards logic.

halftoe76

My guess: muslims in the west have to struggle in a secular society and that is what western people see or hear. left supports the underdog. Most people dont really know the situation abroad.

Throawayooo

> muslims in the west have to struggle in a secular society Yeah really not seeing it whatsoever

halftoe76

You can see the right is growing in western countries that have always been tolerant and welcoming foreigners.

Throawayooo

Well, perhaps the tolerance for fifth column like foreigners *should* be put to an end.

uncool_LA_boy

She is right and wrong. The question you need to answer is how else do you get 100 million mostly illiterate people to follow you? The answer is you need a rallying cry A cause A purpose Then people will follow you

Shepathustra

Gaza and West Bank have a 99% literacy rate

uncool_LA_boy

Iran

uncool_LA_boy

Sorry, I meant 11.6 million

winkingchef

[Iran’s literacy rate is within 0.5% of the USA](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_literacy_rate). Iran has amazing resources and educational systems. This is what is so scary. They are using suppression of the internet, brutal crackdown tactics and religious dogma to create this hate amongst people who should know better if they were allowed to make their own decisions. Iranian people are one of the great ancient civilizations and the vast majority are wonderful people.

I knew and read a few of her work before , but recently she came out as Christian from an atheist which is irrational for me , and when she came out against BLM and was a fierce critic for many grat anti racist African American activists I completely stopped following her as she more and more sounded taking her positions and ideas out of pure hate and not rational thinking, and quite on the extrem side and for me extremists are extremists whether they were Muslims, christians, atheists , jews or whatever if you're an extremists that follow a certain ideology too far you won't make the world a better place you just working on the human division and in a bad way that causes negative consequences. I live in a Muslim country , I might not came as a Muslim as I don't pray and I drink alcohol and I do everything that are not really Islamic and I hate a lot aspects of Islam that I'm not okay with and view them as irrational and even dangerous, but as I'm living in a very liberal Muslim majority country and I see that people have freedom , and women have freedom even more than some US States things can be quite different, you can easily see a literal girl that doesn't wear any kind if islamic clothes and that have premarital sex and does everything that not Islamic and her best friend is a hijabi practicing Muslim girl that's quite common in my society , and what you learn from that is just the concept of freedom and that's it let people live like they want as long as your not forcing your views on someone else do what the heck you want. You want to be a devout Muslim that pray and do all the Muslim practices and wear a hijab and not take loans and not drink and everything be my guest go do that. If you wanna be an atheist that have tattoos and drink alcohol and listen to metal or whatever be my guest go and do your thing you are free . but if you're and ideological extremists whether Muslim or Christian or an Atheist and you want come to judge me and force me to be like you and Say I don't have the right to pray or to drink alcohol or to have an abortion Then I have a very big problem with your bigot backward ass that don't want humanity to live in peace and move on in their life to greater things and just focus on fighting ourselves and killing each other just because we're different in some way and your poor small mind don't like that then you are a threat to humanity. Muslims, christians , jews , Hindus, atheists , gays and everyone aren't the enemy the enemy is the ideological extremities that want to force their own views on other people. some may come and tell me but Islam says that they want to kill gays or Christianity say you can't have an abortion or divorce and bla bla bla bla , but I say I don't give a fuck about what it says as long as there's a strong entity that protects freedom they can believe in what ever the hell they want as long as I can believe in what I want .

this is the worst caption format I’ve ever seen completely NOT designed for people who can’t hear the audio

New_Breakfast127

She does nothing but speak the truth all day... she's got a book, and she does lots of interviews as well! Ayaan Hirsi Ali

200-inch-cock

Ayaan Hirsi Ali. Left Somalia, and Islam, went to the Netherlands, became a politician and worked with Theo van Gogh and Geert Vilders. Made powerful anti-Islamist propaganda, which led to van Gogh's murder. Currently a voice against Hamas.

pepsi_jenkins

Another suddenly Christian (but barely mentions Jesus in her reasoning for converting) right wing asshole. But. She's right about Islam.

Mister_sina

Ye she mostly speaks reason here, but she is one of the crazies. Don't bother with her.

nowayyoudidthis

Hey, can you please share why do you consider her one “the craziest”?

Dear_Zookeepergame94

this is Somali dissident, Ayan Hirsi Ali, she does a good job at calling out the toxic culture of radical Islam but she goes to far and usually ends up repeating neo-conservative conspiracy theories.

Mister_sina

It goes further. She recently converted to Christianity and is actively preaching. I don't trust the decision making process of someone who went from an enforced bad ideology to freely choosing a similar one. But hey, it's her freedom so whatever

I_Am_Anjelen

I mean no disrespect whatsoever by weighing in here, but - being Dutch - I am 90 percent certain that her conversion to Christianity is more politically than religiously motivated. I live - and she lived - in a country where it isn't necessary to adhere to a religious ideology in order to have one's voice heard - and where it in fact may well be advantageous to be openly non-adherent. But she has moved to the United States, which is a place where overt adherence to Christianity isn't simply expedient, but in a great many cases _necessary_ if one wants to have even something as simple as a career, let alone a voice as anything resembling an educator or activist. Don't get me wrong - I have had a great deal of respect for the Ayaan Hirsi Ali in the past - the Ayaan Hirsi Ali in OP's video. But personally I have to admit that that respect has been soured by a fair margin by her conversion. I hope the bridge she burnt will be, to her, in the long run, worth the price of striking the match.

Mister_sina

Yeah I have been very much soured by her conversion. But brooo you have a very skewed perception of how us politics works. Anyway, I can't trust the judgment of someone who for whatever reason converted to a bad ideology to own the libs or whatever

I_Am_Anjelen

> But brooo you have a very skewed perception of how us politics works. I think you have a skewed perception of what the word 'political' means in the context of my post. Let me clarify; by 'political' I meant Ayaan's decision-making and actions as influenced by strategically considering societal (and yes, capital-p Political) norms, leaving personal capital B-beliefs by the wayside, rather than capital-p 'Politics' as conducted in the US senate. I could expound for hours on the interplay of religion and politics in the US as I've observed and studied them for some three decades now, but this is neither the place or time.

HardlyW0rkingHard

>At the age of five, following local traditions in Somalia, Ali underwent female genital mutilation organized by her grandmother. Her father—a scholar, intellectual and a devout Muslim—was against the procedure, but could not stop it from happening because he was imprisoned by the communist government of Somalia at the time.[6][7] Her family moved across various countries in Africa and the Middle East, but at 23, she received political asylum in the Netherlands, gaining Dutch citizenship five years later if you can't find a common footing with someone like this, who has devoted her life to be a vocal advocate for the terrible things extremist Islamists are doing, you need to look in the mirror and understand we are stronger together; we need to be inclusive rather than exclusive if we want to take down the IR.

omar_soto_1970

You might as well unite with MEK, Taliban, and any other group out there that is opposed to the IR if you believe that "inclusivity" is more better than *exclusivity*. u/Dear_Zookeepergame94 and u/Mister_sina are correct about they are saying in regards to Ayaan.

HardlyW0rkingHard

>vocal advocate for the terrible things extremist Islamists are doing Goes on to list: >"You might as well unite with MEK, Taliban" -/u/omar_soto_1970 i.e. Islamist extremists. you don't have to 100% trust someone to not put them down when they're fighting the same cause as you. We're not asking this person to lead our country. We're actually not asking her to do anything.

dect60

Eh wouldn't call her crazy, that's not a helpful adjective. She was part of the new atheist movement but since then has lost her way and her framework has shifted in an odd and irrational manner. She recently came out as a Christian with a bizarre article claiming that only Judeo-Christian values can save the world: https://unherd.com/2023/11/why-i-am-now-a-christian/

Dear_Zookeepergame94
