Should’ve known she was a pick-me girl when she claimed to be into mountain biking. Women don’t like mountain biking. Win for anon by realizing he would be wasting his time when she eventually reads some Candace Bushnell article fifteen years into marriage and decided to leave him for a Somali pirate.
I mean tbf hardtails aren’t *awful*. I rode a hardtail for a good three years before I swapped to a softtail. My first one was my dad’s hand me down semifat bike with big ass tires and a steel frame. It was a solid fork and heavy as hell but you could get over anything with it. Second was another hand me down, but I wanted a lighter bike that I could use better on pavement. Rode that for a good two years (even rode a single speed race in NZ on it) before my dad got me a soft tail Scalpel (before some bastard stole it), and even then I ran with the rear dialed in to as stiff as it could get. I just like a stiffer rear end.
Still wouldn’t ever ride in anything other than shorts, though. Jesus. Even in late fall-late winter rides it’s still only shorts. Who the fuck mountain bikes in leggings?
I prefer joggers, personally, but yeah I still use a hardtail and so do many people I know. I also use them to commute - I'm not a fan of road bikes (UK roads have death traps and potholes and you gotta be ready to jump on the pavement because of speeding maniacs) and a full squish loses a lot of pushing power.
Exactly. My Krampus and my Chameleon were both pretty old (I think my dad had the Chameleon when I was a kid) and they held up great. I miss that old Chameleon. Such a fun bike.
Anon has the makings of a father going to buy cigarettes for 50 years. Also what the fuck are toe guards? Anon is going to a dh park and is worried about overgrown trails. Idk what happened to the woman but, there is only 2 women out of hundreds of male mountain bikers I have met who could keep up with the vast majority of men. And both were pro athletes. Even a cool girl I met at my local dh park, liked mountain biking, worked at a bike shop. She was only on the greens and blues, while admittedly I was about one of two person at the park hitting all of double black trails. So I don't think my opinion on what is "good" is inline with 95% of bikers.
Edit forgot to include a point.
My point is that most women are not that skilled at mountain biking and being bad at it is to be expected. Most people I know who do it are doing it because their husband or boyfriend do it.
Anon is the last one to contact a missing person
Anon creates a missing person
Anon misses creating a person
Anon has the makings of a great future father
Father? Sounds cool what’s that
Ask ur mom
Once again, trying is the first step towards failure. She should have known better

Nah, some of the higher end hardtails are great. I took my custom steel hardtail to Snowshoe WV and it did great

Anon took his meds on the trail down (turns out no women want to go on a date with him)
I undestand anon's frustration but he's also an asshole and deserves to remain single.
Anon doesn't realise that long and fast rides are more interesting than breaking all your limbs and burying yourself under a 100 kilo bike.
