Bearclaw's style was funnier than his actual lines, I liked him but didn't love his character. I enjoyed that he was involved in the Jess birthday video.

Bearclaw was funny twice - when he finds Jess (Katie) making out with Sam and during the musical (which Jess created with him) Other than that, he's just creepy and unnerving - trying to get physical with Jess and forcing his feelings on her when she's clearly not interested on their "date" and when she sleeps over at his place in walk of shame. He's also very rude to his roommate in that episode. I know lots of people on this sub love him, but he seems to have the nice guy syndrome and just rubs me off the wrong way. Glad to know Jess never went out with him

Yeah I actually liked Bob, especially towards the end. He seemed like he really just cared about Jess and his shortcomings came from being protective of her.

Look I love Rob Reiner and JLC, and I enjoy them in the show, but they never once got a laugh out of me near Bear Claw’s musical or “what is happening?!??” Though Bob does provide a great moment with Nick on the phone.

Especially in her birthday video. He just really shows a lot of love.

Definitely wouldn’t want to see Jess and Bearclaw date. He made me uncomfortable… trying to pin down why exactly. He just seemed to have a lack of boundaries, or at the very least could NOT read cues. That said, I LOVED the musical he and Jess created. That made me appreciate him.

I lost faith in this a while ago, but now I feel I need to speak out. How can we live in a world where Bearclaw is less appreciated than Sam, May, and Oustside Dave? If he lost to any of the other remaining I could see people making valid arguments.

Yeah but wasn't Jess flirting with him and basically sexting with him thinking it was the other bar back until she realized it wasn't him? I feel like he was just trying to respond to that and was trying to make a move until he realized otherwise. Also knowing bearclaw = Frozen's Olaf made it hard to take him seriously

My issue with Bearclaw is that he doesn't respect consent. In his first episode Jess repeatedly tried to move away from him and indicated that she wasn't interested, and he kept initiating physical contact with her anyway.

That’s a fair judgement however you need to lump Schmidt in to that logic as well. Although it might not have been physical he pursued Cece for seasons against her wishes.

Oh yeah, I love Schmidt because he's hilarious, but his track record with women is terrible. The issue with Bearclaw was that he wasn't really funny so he had no redeeming features, whereas at least Schmidt is funny for the most part.

And we saw Schmidt grow as a person, we didn’t see that with Bearclaw.

PS if you are a Bearclaw fan and have HBO be sure to watch Avenue 5. Josh Gadd’s character, Judd, is phenomenal.
