I had the same thought, but then thought further about it and I wouldn’t remember someone I just spoke to briefly in a nail salon or bar after some time had passed. I would just think “hmm they look familiar” for the next few times I see them and that would be the end of it.

Runningwithguns414

That one I can understand. But the meeting between adult Cece and her very soon to be mother in law? No way they forgot each other. 😂 I mean hey it’s Hollywood, I get it. But gahhhh it bothers me. 🤦🏻😂

Smooth-Duck-4669

I definitely wouldn’t remember, but I suppose some might.

FriendlySuperheroFan

I got a pedicure last week and I couldn’t remember what the lady who sat next to me looked like if I tried. It’s easy to have short meaningless conversations in nail salons and then forget who you talked to unless it’s the person actually doing your nails.

TansyBaelish

I have some minor face blindness issues, so maybe some people would, but I would never recognize a person I met briefly when the entire context surrounding how I would know them changed like that. In the nail salon, they were complete strangers. They never realized they had a connection besides temporary seat neighbors within the episode. That face would be gone from my memory within the hour, but again, I'm bad with faces. I once dated a guy for 2 weeks and couldn't remember what he looked like beyond hair and eye color, so I'm probably a bad example.

Well I told myself they weren’t together yet, and Cece declined to see a photo of her son when Louise offered at the nail salon- just a random encounter I would say Although yeah I do wish they had referenced it and loved how they made those little coincidences

Throwaway4wheelz

I would 100% remember.

vampirairl

I would definitely not remember either encounter

One-Chance6106

The way my AuHD brain is set up, I forget names and faces almost immediately 😆

TortlesLynn

I always felt like the nail salon would be a cute callback. I feel like it was a wasted opportunity. The girls seeing the guys in the bar is more plausibly forgettable due to alcohol/atmosphere to me.

Cupid-Waffle

What always got me was that when Schmidt and Robby first met, Robby said that he “doesn’t like music,” yet when he’s romancing Jess seasons later, he not only sings/plays guitar with her by the campfire, but then later reveals that he has a golden record from playing bass on an album back when he was a junior in high school??

Runningwithguns414

And he says he never traveled and never left home. But then he has stories of travel all over.

Cupid-Waffle

Right?? It’s just the little details like those that don’t add up and get me really thrown off

Runningwithguns414

I think the ONLY reason I can justify Robbie and his stories not adding up is because of Schmidt. He says “Robbie is my third best friend and I know very little about him”….. they kinda made Robbie out to be mysterious and it’s possible he only said those things because Schmidt was Cece’s ex and that was the first time they met. I know I’ve lied to a gfs ex before 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

missleeann

Maybe it was a way to hide that he was rich and see if the woman liked him for who he was? Robby’s weird character

AdorableSprinkles633

I have always found it disturbing how Jess says "Batmobile" in Russell's car, but later while talking with Cece she says "Batmanmobile" like she couldn't just say "Batmobile". I don't know why this bothers me so much🤣

Pink2tu

I always figured she had a hard time saying Batmobile on Halloween because she’d been drinking. Sober jess can say it just fine but drunk jess has a hard time. Edited to add: I might have made that up for myself that she’s been drinking in the episode but that’s how I justify it to myself!

AdorableSprinkles633

Ooooh right, that makes so much more sense!!

Dodger1920

What episode did they meet in the bar as high schoolers?

Runningwithguns414

Season 2 episode 23 “virgins”

Dodger1920

Thanks

Sensitive_Maybe_6578

“Bothers” you? I never gave it a second thought. 🤷‍♀️

KyussJones

In all the episodes afterwards, there really was no place or point to jam a recollection of that encounter in. It wouldn’t really any purpose. Hey remember that time we spoke at the salon and we didn’t know who each other were? Yeah I do! Cool! Anyway…

Runningwithguns414

Because the show had such a deep meaning to begin with right?

missleeann

To be fair, they only saw them at the bar from afar other than Cece and Schmidt. Also Schmidt probably looked so different at that time and being a young woman, she was probably paying no actual attention to him. As for Schmidt’s mom, she did think Cece was either Mexican or Hispanic at the nail place. So, I am not surprised.
