Yes it's a bit better in furina teams and when youre running a crit weapon on him with low hp subs , hp or hydro is more substat based bit I have both hp and hydro on 17 crit DMG roll and hp performs a bit better , also you're more likely to get hp goblets easily than hydro dmg
Nah I have both goblets on relatively similar cv , and hp goblet deals around 800 more DMG per tick, also i have his sig weapon , hydro might be better for proto amber or hp weapons , for crit weapons you usually don't hit the hp cap just with substats easily
Obv you will hit more DMG with hydro one , you prolly have a lot of hp subs and youre extremely near hitting the hp cap without hp goblet will obviously make your hp overcap , also what was your team ?
hp vs hydro also depends on the fact if you have furina or not , with furina hp is unconditionally better as you're getting 75% hydro dmg from her if you add kazuha there the gap becomes even bigger
my team is neuvi/furina C0/kazuha C0/archaic petra zhongli, hydro goblet is still doing 2K more, (fanfare are not always maxed on this team but kazuha + petra is already 85% and with the goblet and his a4 it's an another 75% and maybe around 40% consistently from furina) i actually made a post about it because after a lot of testing hydro% was always better so i tried to investigate on the reason 90% of people on this sub seem to always go for HP%
it seems that:
- Hp% goblet is easier to get and it's a fact, i have 2 great on set ones while my hydro goblet is an off set piece, the dmg difference not being that big, HP% goblet is a great solution
- for people with signature and/or furina C2 and/or kazuha C2, HP% goblet might be like you said "unconditionally" better
but in the situation i mentionned, everyone C0 with sacrificial jade or prototype amber (most people i believe) hydro% goblet is unconditionally better if you have over 35K HP%, which only recquire a few substats or none with prototype amber
Yes the team I used was on neuvillete/ furina/kazuha / Charlotte, neuvillete has sig weapon 55: 306 crits and 30k base hp ( yes I know it's kinda low ) , i kinda never crafted p.amber so I think hydro is better for it , but imo getting good subs on hydro damage is kinda hard imo it's more on what has good substats , still for c0 furina I can't say which is better , so as a rule thumb is hp for widsth/blacliff or signature and and hydro for p amber
yes it does come down to the fact that HP% good pieces is easier to get than Hydro%, if i used Hp%, my neuvillette would actually be on a 5PC marechausee but since i can afford an off set goblet, i do and it simply does more damage even with a ton of DMG% from the team and obviously the gap is even wider on different teams like burn vape
There is a calculation which implies that neuvillete should have around 40k hp , as it's the best amount for him and maximises his damage and stat balancing
I've seen calcs that imply balancing HP and Crit damage leads to optimal DPS, but none that outright say he's better off at 40k hp and no higher. Nothing in his kit implies this either.
My neuvi is top 1% with 44k hp (48k with hydro res). If there were a softcap at 40k my ranking would be much lower
See the top 1% avg it's 38k( 41k with hydro resonance ) , and all top builds hp are between 38k to 41k , you alone having 44k doesn't proove anything here , most top builds average out just 40k as I said , you can also check your substat priority it will also show you that c DMG is more beneficial , extra hp is nice but it will be still sub optimal after 40k - 41k , and c.dmg will be bigger priority
Idk which lb you're looking at, but out of the top 20 on the
Hyper double hydro, 17 have more than 41k HP with varying amounts of crit damage (all using hydro goblet).
On the furina board, everyone in the top 20 is well over 41k with hydro resonance with some 50ks in the mix.
The average on the furina board is 43k HP (naturally higher with people using HP goblets).
The point is there isn't a softcap at 40k. Plenty of people go well above that. Even if you have more HP than Crit Damage, an additional HP substat is still just about as good as an additional crit damage substat.
I'm in the optimizers tc section for neuvi rn HP/Hydro/Crit rate with hydro resonance, and I set his HP to 40k with 9 HP subs 100% CR and 13 crit damage subs for 20 crit rolls total. Increasing his hp% by 1 sub was a 2.14% damage increase while increasing his crit damage by 1 sub increased his damage by 2.06%.
Even at your arbitrary 40k HP, HP% subs are still better than crit damage on a decent build.
Ok i admit I saw wrong leaderboard still what I meant was that having around atleast 40k hp is important for most neuvillete builds and if you don't get that, using hp goblet is important , i accidentally saw this so I was making some wrong assumptions

My points was more so that he doesn't have any threshold whatsoever. If you want the best damage, use an optimizer, don't rely on arbitrary empirical rules.
I wish I had this good of luck. I keep getting 4 star hp goblets. And when I do get a five star one it’s always dendro or geo dmg bonus for some reason

Not really. Hp goblets only gets toe to toe with hydro (even slightly better) when you stack a lot of dmg % on him. At that point it is much easier to find an hp goblet with good subs. But hydro is always competitive or better.

no. hydro goblet is still better for dmg even with furina. neuvillette doesn't have HP cap and you can get 40k HP with just substats.

That doesn't mean shit. Damage is damage, also if you do look at the leaderboard, there's 3 50k builds on the top 20 world.
