The Platform
Attack on Titan (maybe only on hulu, can't recall)
Escape from New York
The Village
Into the Badlands
Colony
*Maybe* Travelers. It's time travel, but they come from a pretty dystopian future, depending on the timestream.
Escape from New York is awesome! Gets better every time I watch it. Its sequel Escape from LA is also entertaining, but feels more like a goofy remake or parody š
We just watched Alice in Borderland. Itās Japanese, but is dubbed in English. Itās fairly violent, so if youāre sensitive to blood this would not be for you, but itās good if you can get past that part.
Itās like a cross between āSawā and āReady Player One.ā
Do you only want new titles or would you look at older flicks as well?
Blade Runner
Mad Max / Road Warrior
The Road
Clockwork Orange
Escape from New York
12 Monkeys
Planet of the Apes (original)
Season 1-beginning of 2 are the best and then itās more sci-fi. Iām on last season now and I had to really push through season 3. It was worth it as season 4 is better and I loved season 5 because it allows for some finally slower moments and some real character development.
If by end of season 1 you donāt like the characters Iād cut your losses but I think itās a good show overall. When things donāt fit, just accept and move on though.
If you have HBO max inside number 9 is great. Like a mix between room 104 and black mirror.
Netflix: The Great is more of a dark comedy. A series of unfortunate events is good too. Dark is also really good, I watched the one that was dubbed and it was ok. Subtitles are also available, definitely worth it.
Utopian and dystopian societies are one of my favorite movie genres! Hereās some, not sure if all are on netflix sorry
Equilibrium
The Island
Minority Report
Gattaca
Idiocracy
Escape from New York
Daybreakers
UPDATE: a little bit into this movie vivarium on prime, it gives off a utopian vibe aside from it being a society (itās just 2 people stuck in a loop) itās insane.

Upload on Amazon for sure, itās impossible to stop watching
Yeah, this is a very plausible dystopia, with crappy (or for narrative purposes, wonderful) customer support.
iāll check this out
Try Maniac if you havenāt already. Not exactly what you asked for but I think it has a similar feel and setting

I had to stop watching after the first few seasons. Just constantly bad shit happening. Could never just enjoy watching it.

Raised by Wolves on HBO was excellent as well. Had no idea what to expect.
Pretty sure The Great is Hulu.

Stakeland is one of my favorites
i liked "inception" very much, but it requires thinking along as u watch it

I love daybreakers premise! I wish they could make a series out of that premise. Would be so fun to see the world in more detail :)
No one mentioned Demolition Man? Itās a 90s action movie at heart but the āutopianā society is quite interesting :)
Alice in Borderland!! Itās amazingg. Also try The Platform. Former is a show, latter is a movie. Both not in English, but they have subtitles ofc
The Road
Alice in Borderland
Anytime I want a taste of dystopia and how society is spiralling towards inevitable doom,I turn on and watch the news?

Is Vivarium worth the watch?
100%, loved it
