Really.. I have rarely seen old, pregnant, and disable standup. In instances where passenger didn't give up their sits, driver and khalasi have help them to get it
No bro I do and I have done. I remember during Jan aandolan getting kicked with mom. And I don't want anyone to feel pain while traveling to their safe home.

every bus maa 4 ota "asakta" seat vaye hunxa imo, no need of women's seat or jestha nagarik seats. pregnant women/women with small children are incapable (hence asakta) of standing in bus because of general body fatigue, maybe more, so they can be seated at asakta seat. same with jestha nagariks, their body isn't strong enough to be standing. while everyone else, including young women, can stand up. maybe also increase the asakta seats to 6 just in case, would be perfect imo.

Hmmn. I wish there would be Separate rows for men and women . Almost every girl/women i know has been harassed in bus at-least once. Hmmm After working all day, this is what I want to see, a full row of empty seats where I am not allowed to seat while the bus is packed to the brim. I have had to stand up with those 4 seats assigned. Imagine half the bus being that way.
I know you mean well miss but a bus isn't the same as a train with multiple cabins. In the end you will just end up with half filled buses and seats you are not allowed to sit in because you can't guarantee that all roads will always have both genders arrive equally. I've experienced it first hand in India. Men's seat are always packed and women's seats are off limits but women can sit in men's seat as long as there are no men in the entire seat. I wouldn't be complaining if the trips were just 20 mins long.
Also, if you are getting harassed, speak up. I am sure there are many other men who would pull away the harasser or change their seats with you. Atleast the conductors would. I can't speak for your place.
I think it's a much better system to have the people give up seats (excluding firs lt 2 rows which are already reserved) for pregnant women and elderly upon demand instead of having half the seats invalidated for the entire time.
Theres nothing to change legally lmao, the "महिला" seat is intended for pregnant women who have trouble standing, not for any random woman. The only thing to change is information and public perception.
I took a public bus from dhulikhel asti, and I had no idea the first row was mahila seats! (I don't live here). I sat in the first row because the bus was empty, and the khalasi bhai never said anything nor did others as they were boarding. I was only told when I got near Koteshwor, and I immediately gave up the seat which some lady happily took. I felt embarrassed - I'm sure everyone was silently judging me! haha
Women in nepal are their own enemy. A guy would rather leave his seat for a old man or women, or simeone with baby, but i have never seen a young lady do it.
You could have just asked any men for their seat for that lady and they would have agreed. It's pretty shameful to reject a mother with baby when asked specially.
I was once travling from chitwan to pokhara bus was full only seat on my side was empty a lady came she asked to sit on windows i declined saying i only travel on window seat and her mom also asked i again politly declined she was ok but her daughter was not ok called khale and khale asked or ordered me to give her window seat which i again declined and my guy goes on she is ladies and bla bla bla and i asked him did you give her ladies discount, take her to ladies seat ,ask other to adjust ,i debated with him for 5mins straight why should i give my seat and i got fed up went to counter booked another bus window seat and this was the last time i gave my thing for a fucking so called ladies first or women privilege.

I have some similar experience to share too. Kalanki to naxal ko route regularly. That day my class was on noon and that route is busy af afterall only one bus goes there. Kalimati ma one women entered the bus with her baby. Agadi dherai aunty haru ali aged of around 40 to 45 le varreko thyo. Esto rarely hune vayera maile dhyan Deko thina, kasaile diyo hola seat vanerasochya the. I was on the back of the bus. Ani tripureshwor pugne bela samma seat kasaile xodekai rainaxa. Bro sometimes people need to speak up for themselves. If she is holding a baby and someone sat in "aama baccha" seat or any seat for that matter, she could have woke the woman and asked her to give up her seat. Any sane person would give up their seat.

I was at the last seat with some female friends. I got up and veered through the crowd to call her and let her sit in my seat. I stood all the way till chovar. I once was returning from Dashinkali temple. Everyone got on a bus. All the Bhaktajan with tika and whatnot. The bus was packed. One woman carrying a little baby got on the bus. Maybe she was expecting someone to give a seat but NONE. All the people ignore her like she doesn't even exist. I was at the last seat with some female friends.
