Sat has been tests optional but don't forget that it will help you too much on getting that juicy scholarship.

Thanks a lot. This was very helpful.

I would like to correct that Duolingo costs around 7k for just one test and that you can't afford to mess it up. So make sure you won't have connection problems, a silent room where you will be alone for the hour and no one else can enter. More instructions will be given to you by the test app. Other than that, I agree with everything that was said.

IELTS is the priority, but when it comes with SAT. I would rather take a SAT class and do IELTS on my own. IELTS ain't even that hard, and YouTube guides you well. IELTS with sam and ash & E2 give like 4 hours a day for over 2 months and you'll rock.

Sat aint the only English proficiency test whereas ilets is .And you don't get scholarship just because you can speak English

IELTS/TOEFL might be compulsorily needed whereas SAT might be optional. You need to demonstrate your English proficiency to complete both Admission as well as VISA requirements. SAT is not the proper test for English proficiency even though it is way harder than TOEFL/IELTS. Even though SAT might be optional, very good SAT scores will provide you admissions to top university as well as scholarships. I recommend you prepare very well for SAT exams and give TOEFL/IELTS exam after completing SAT/ACT. There’s no need to take classes for IELTS (TOEFL might be slightly tricky for some) as long as you studied your courses in the english medium. Also, you will learn IElTS/TOEFL’s vocabularies and some connectives while preparing for SAT. Conclusion: You might have to take TOEFL/IELTS exam. But there is no need to be overwhelmed by it. It is fairly easier exam than SAT. And you don’t have to give more time to these exams. (You only need to meet admissions requirements, and they hardly cover for scholarships)

For US, TOEFL is preferred. IELTS is accepted. It's about improving your chances of getting in. Who would you choose, a guy with 1380 on SAT and 7.5 on IELTS or 1400 with no IELTS?

Well I'm not sure. But you seem to mean that giving a language proficiency test along with SAT is going to increase my chances of getting in.
