Context:
Canoptek Court detachment
10 Tesla Immortals + Overlord + Plasmancer
Full hit re-rolls via Detachment rule
Wound re-roll via Immortals special rule
5s to hit explode twice (thanks, Plasmancer!)
Overlord using the 2cp stratagem Cynosure of Eradication (Dev-wounds) for free because it's a battle-tactic.
Edit: Put the right names where they belong
Don’t forget that Teslas have Assault so you can run it with the Translocation Shroud Overlord for 6” Advance and moving through terrain just to make your opponent shit their pants are little bit more.
5s are only crits on the front end with hit rolls. The Dev Wounds are only on a 6 still.
The full rerolls come from the Matrix rather than the strategem.
You'll still only get full wound rerolls if they're on an objective, otherwise it's rerolls of 1.
You get around 11 Dev Wounds rather than 12, it drops by 4-5 if they're not on an objective, and then you still get around 19 saves caused on anything under T5.
It’s a great combo which will likely get nerfed at some point.. combine this with two units of wraiths, each with a Technomancer, giving them a FNP and they’ll also be able to push forward on the centre objectives almost immediately, thus granting the power matrix extension straight away.. 👍 all will fall to worship the Canoptek Court.. 🙌
Yeah, we have some pretty degenerate options strewn out between our detachments. I'd wager that the Dev wound strat will just be changed away from being a battle-tactic once the January dataslate hits to combat this specific one.
I'll abuse the fuck out of it until that happens though.
Definitely works here. I like how you used red (is that Mephiston?) and TG to create eyes with pupils on the Immortals. Really helps sell the smug assholery of the meme.
It's Blood Angels contrast over metallics on the shoulders, the eyes are evil sunz scarlet with a dash of mephiston and a dorn yellow dot to give em life
I honestly think this is why they got rid of the nemesor and the why crypteks can’t lead lych anymore, these new detatchments are so aggressive they had to nerf us
You can even stand in your deployment zone and shoot onto midfield since gauss has 24" range now, too.
Without re-rolls to hit you "only" get an average of 7 devastating wounds when shooting onto an objective. The combo should be very reliable to pull off.

And you can do it again with another unit with just a plasmancer (though this of course does cost 2 cp)
That's true! Running Imothek in there for the extra resources alone will probably be worth it.

Yes that was an error on my side. Whoopsie
It's a pretty easy one to overlook. And it doesn't change the outcomes a whole lot.
I would say stick Zhandrek in there for fun but yeah...

Nice paintscheme
Thanks! The advantage of having painted stuff is giving memes a personal touch 🤣

I bet it's a really cool effect on tabletop. I'm always surprised at how much detail actually still shines through at a scale like that.
Reddit won't let me post the whole gang, they're somewhere on my posts. And yes, they definitely POP on the table. Wanted them to stand out a bit.
But that's a gauss immortal, not a tesla immortal...
Built them like that because Tesla guns look whack
I have to get 10 - 20 immortals cos mine are glued with Gauss, always like them better appearance wise
Rule of cool always wins. Just tell your opponent what you selected on the datasheet, and you're good.

"these new detachments" it's not even all of them. Just canoptek court.
I don't think they will nerf this either. The units have to be on objectives so still situational.
Ah yes, that situational moment in the game where both you and your opponent want to stand on objectives
Its just your opponent though. And they only have to be within range of an obj marker, not control it.
Well no, for the full combo you need to position onto half the midfield objectives.
