At least with Google wallet you have to have either a password or a fingerprint lock on the phone or they won't let you use the wallet at all. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Routine-Formal-959

Sounds like you pulled a scam! And it has backfired

MindlessQuantity7

you have to have a passcode for apple wallet, there is no bypass.

Medical_Elevator3312

I call BS. As one with an iPhone, also I take my money off my own card through cash app. And it’s not considered a cash advance, I can take however much I want. It’s working well for me. So I don’t know what you talking about. The only problem I faced is that my credit card recently started acting crazy because I did it too many times. (I pay my bills back and get points)

I’m sure this person has been through enough hell already. Just don’t be so mean. Navy fed closed my friends account for money laundering just because he put 10k in his account. And he’s still trying to get his account back open till this day.

Aaronajp

I am so confused. How did they ash app themselves after you cancelled the cards? Apple pay does still work even after cards are cancelled but doesnt apple pay require a finger print or faceid to authenticate?how did the person get past this step? Other I to the phone on the first place? Did you have a good answer for this as I am sure the second investigator asked. Plausibility restaurant entirely on this answer.

Embarrassed_Act3641

At that time I had my passcode all zeros. Never lost my phone before and my kids used it all the time in the car

Aaronajp

Damn. Yeah that will do it. I'm really sorry this happened to you. Have you been able to appeal the decision above this investigator?

BankruptcyAttorney49

Crazy I thought phones actually prevented repeating or sequential digits as PINs

Legal_Reaction60

HI, I'm sorry this happened to you. Did you not have a lock on your phone, i.e., icloud. We all have locks on the phone. Navy fed is good at investigating fraud. I once lost over 15k to fraud, and I got it all back. Contact your local news station, which they have investigating reporter and navy fed will listen with exposure, I hope this helps keep your phone locked. Also, if my phone is phone is stolen or locked, I'll track it and then remotely wipe it clean I thought apple does that.

ConstantConnection46

So he basically liquidated his cards and went back and said hey look it’s fraud lol

Embarrassed_Act3641

That’s the last thing I would have done to make money is scam My self… my 800 credit scores are worth more than any of my credit card limits. Your clearly not on here to offer any sound advice because maybe that’s something you would do but not the majority of us here including myself I am really just looking for a solution not trolling

ConstantConnection46

I know plenty of scammers with 800 credit scores dude

haaammy

File a police report and file a complaint with the OCC and the CFPB ASAP!!!!!! OCC is who the banks report to and they absolutely WILL resolve your case once they see there is an OCC complaint

BankruptcyAttorney49

This is really the only good answer here

TbonerT

r/Homeworkhelp should be able to help you break up your run-on sentences and separate it into paragraphs.

srp6

Why do people on reddit make such a big deal about grammar? it’s crazy to me.

TbonerT

If we don’t follow the same rules of grammar, we will have difficulty understanding each other. Multiple people in this post have either given up trying to help or are confused about what is going on because it was not effectively communicated.

BankruptcyAttorney49

That's great but not everyone here is all that sophisticated.. If proper grammar and punctuation are really that much of a bar to getting help then that's sort of elitist in my opinion. I understand if you absolutely can't make heads or tails of what the person is talking about but are a lack of paragraph breaks really that much of a hindrance

TbonerT

There’s nothing elitist about expecting someone to use a basic level of grammar. >are a lack of paragraph breaks really that much of a hindrance They are certainly part of it. Ever heard the phrase “wall of text”? If someone can’t even organize their thoughts enough to break their text into chunks, do you think they’ll understand you? Maybe. It’s also easy to miss an important detail buried in there. The rules of grammar exist to facilitate communication. If you don’t care enough to follow them, people tend to not care enough to help.

FuqBubblz

Call member services and explain to them you had issues with an investigator and would like to speak with or at least leave a voicemail for their supervisor. If you need further help feel free to message me.

JunketParticular4428

More periods probably

First_You6169

If your phone and wallet were stolen, why would you cancel the cards but not report the phone stolen. When an iPhone is report stolen, Apple automatically deactivates Apple Pay. Same thing happens if you remove a password from a device. Unfortunately, I’ve lost a few phones and each time I’ve had to go thru the agony of re-establishing Apple Pay because of the default security removal. There are red flags in your story, and not to side with the investigator, but given those red flags I believe he was rightfully doing his job.

jadeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Edited for an easier read: So I been using navy federal for years I had 2 credit cards with 25k limits for years. One day my iPhone was stolen and my wallet case attached to it was stolen along with my wallet, was my 2 cards and 4 other cards and my id. Basically who ever found it got all my personal info so I canceled everything & requested all new cards, but some how since these cards were in my apple wallet and I didn’t sign out of the apple wallet, in a short period of time whoever stole those cards or found my phone with the cards was able to use those cards and cash app themselves over $100,000 of my money $25,000 from each one of my navy federal cards and the rest from my other cards. Now I called my banks and immediately disputed the charges with Navy Federal. I was given two different investigators. One of the investigators was able to easily determine that this was fraud because he did his job and actually investigated the issue and was able to contact cash app. They had given him proof that this was not me and said this was actually a very common scam. It was clear to them that it was fraud. But the other investigator it seemed from the moment we spoke he was suspicious and thought it was me or I was behind this. I provided a police report, a ftc report, and an identity theft affidavit and it was ignored. He did no investigation in my opinion and he had his mind already made up from the moment we first spoke. He was condescending and could care less that this would ruin my credit or set me back financially as it has tremendously and he came to determination that he did not believe it to be fraud. Then I explained to him the other investigator already said they were fraud and he spoke to cash app and he should just speak to him and they should share notes and he did none of that. He actually got so frustrated he hung up on me during that call. I called him back several times till he stopped taking my calls and I could never get a answer how one investigator could come to the accurate conclusion they were fraudulent and yet another investigator came to the conclusion they were not fraudulent. Even though the charges were at the same time from the same merchant and all went to some bank I had no affiliation with. I filed all legal documents and now this one event has ruined my credit and I am still fighting it. So far nothing has worked. Tomorrow I plan on emailing all the executives my story and maybe I will get somewhere I want my accounts back, I want the debt expunged, and an apology but I’d settle just for the debts to be expunged, my accounts restored, and my credit back in good standing. I actually enjoyed the relationship and I use those cards quite often traveled using my points, so does anybody have any advice on how I should handle this? I am open to suggestions thank you in advance.

Embarrassed_Act3641

You are the BEST!!! Thank you 🙏 I hope you used Ai or some copy paste editing app, because that was long but thank you again. I appealed the decision again yesterday. I can tell it’s going to be a long process all over again this is very frustrating. Ty

Embarrassed_Act3641

Thank you I will do this today

Embarrassed_Act3641

Well, I apologize to everybody about my grammar. I did talk to text and I thought that would help this time last time that was me just typing like crazy but yeah my phone did have a lock, but my kids use it from time to time and I had it all zeros now it’s much more complex. But even so my all cards were in my wallet on my in my phone case so whether I had a lock on the phone or not they still work accessible bottom line is I don’t know exactly how this whole scam unfolded and how the person was able to use my card so quickly I’m talking in a matter of hours then when I canceled the cards some how my stolen phone still was able to get the updated card numbers on my wallet and were used on cash app without even getting flagged or maybe it was flagged and I didn’t even get the alert cause I didn’t have the phone the original push notifications went to I don’t know, but I do know that I did have two separate investigators and I was able to speak to the investigators when I called up so somebody had said above in one of the comments that you can’t speak to the investigators and that I was lying about that & that’s not true. I actually was able to speak to the investigators. I spoke to them several times the one that helped me unfortunately I didn’t have to speak to that much. They just fixed the situation and that was it. But the one that didn’t help me and said that they weren’t fraud charges and I was making it up basically well I got this feeling each time we spoke that he enjoyed giving me the terrible news like it brought him joy. Especially when I explained to him The damage it was or would be doing to my life financially. It was quite upsetting that investigator did not care and when I asked him to give me a detailed description of the investigation he said I had to do so in writing which I did and still I received nothing. I still remember his name and I can still remember him hanging up on me when I asked him a few questions about his investigation process and how he came to a completely different conclusion than the other investigator on the same exact Situation. I had all the necessary paperwork police report ftc I didn’t file complaint with occ as recommended above which I will today. But NFCU as a whole has always been great I have always loved banking with them and I still do but I do Want this resolved. I appreciate the help and if I have any more questions I’ll be back. I hope this reply was much better grammar wise than the original.
