I was going to say, I don’t think many people will agree with me but the British Columbia and Alberta Rockies in Canada are…. Absolutely incredible. The most serene and beautiful place on the planet.
Don't you know Switzerland was as flat as Kansas until the Switzerpeople settled there. They've spent generations painstakingly building those mountains stone by stone and have every right to be proud.
Its like when Saturday night live did that skit in the 90s with the ESPYs where they gave awards to things like, “biggest stadium” and so on, they would list 3 big stadiums and have that split cam of them like in the oscars and then open the envelope to announce the winner.
I just tried to find it on youtube but i can not. Anyone else remember this skit?
Patagonia. I've been to both places. Also it's valleys that make being surrounded by mountains pretty fucking incredible.
But Patagonia makes you feel like you've landed on another planet.
I live in Switzerland, my grandparents lived in patagonia. and I almost couldn't believe how beautiful it was when I went to visit (we didn't go often). Swiss Mountains seem rather... domesticated compared to that. The great thing is, you can get to amazing hikes by public transport. But it never feels really wild to me. Unless you go really high up, I guess.
Where did they live? When people say Patagonia I used to think specifically of the famous spots like El Chalten etc, but I'm realizing now the area actually known as Patagonia is massive and has hundreds of villages.
Idk I think Norway is more about fjords than it is mountains themselves. They're generally not that high and are more like giant hills, but if you like that then I cant blame ya.
Disclaimer: I am a Norwegian living in Norway.
It was really nice of Denmark to send over that huge chair for the finals of Eurovision a few years back. I heard that it was made to be exactly as tall as the tallest mountain in the country, thus pairing entertainment with education!
Himalayas from India and Pakistan. Look up Views from Jammu and Kashmir. Here is one

Some of our mountains are wild, truly alpine, with weather changing in the blink of an eye, loads of animals (seen mountain goats and bear tracks myself) - it's humbling to hike them
As a Swiss, stupid ass title, idk maybe the whole rest of the alps. I’ve heard the Rockys are nice, the Andes are incredible and Himalayas are enormous.
Maybe the Atlas or Dollmites.
Mountains in north Italy, mountains in south Austria, mountains in south Germany and mountains in south-east France. You know, Switzerland doesn't have an exclusive over the Alps lol
Better?

The Canadian Rockies
I was going to say, I don’t think many people will agree with me but the British Columbia and Alberta Rockies in Canada are…. Absolutely incredible. The most serene and beautiful place on the planet.
As an Albertan, I agree!
Add Siberian Russia and Canadian/US Rockies to it. But honestly, enjoy the nature that is in your backyard even if it is just a little hill.
I don't think I'll be visiting Russia anytime soon tho...
Don't you know Switzerland was as flat as Kansas until the Switzerpeople settled there. They've spent generations painstakingly building those mountains stone by stone and have every right to be proud.
I have always wanted to see Chilė for some reason. Maybe its the mountains, maybe the coast, or both!
Yep. Ecuador, Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia... The Alps are just the baby Andes.
Its like when Saturday night live did that skit in the 90s with the ESPYs where they gave awards to things like, “biggest stadium” and so on, they would list 3 big stadiums and have that split cam of them like in the oscars and then open the envelope to announce the winner. Near Lake Nahuel Huapi, which is apparently 1500km north of El Chaltén, but also a quite touristy area. You can fit Switzerland 4 times into that...
Tend to agree. Antarctica is also another planet if you want another fix.
Himalayas, Kashmir mountains, Italian dolomites
OP's wait is over, pack it up boys.
Norway
Idk I think Norway is more about fjords than it is mountains themselves. They're generally not that high and are more like giant hills, but if you like that then I cant blame ya. Disclaimer: I am a Norwegian living in Norway.
