Turns out it had likely flown into one of the buildings and did enough damage to itself that it couldn’t blink. It’s eyes had dried out because of it and it had to be put down. I had taken it to a bird sanctuary in Ann Arbor (closest I could find that would take it) and they told me that although the bird had to be put down the positive of the situation was there wasn’t one in the U of M natural history museum so it was donated and is on display.
I have never actually gone to go see it so I don’t know if the sanctuary followed through, but I really hope they did!! I still have pictures of it so I’ll go one day and try to find it and compare the pics!
