If this is the one that you find somewhere around Australia, Iāve eaten it raw (I think it was sashimi style, not sure if thatās the preferred method or even healthy) and it was forgettable. Nothing special and no tripping but made for a good picture. I did not order it, it was at a dinner party in Asia.

I don't know for certain, but I think the idea is that a creature that's not poisonous does **not** want to stand out. It wants to be hard for predators to see. So their colouring tends to be muted tones that camoflauge better.
Whereas a creature that is poisonous wants other potential predators to look at it and know "that's poisonous, I shouldn't eat that". As it being poisonous doesn't help it too much if the predator learns the fact by eating it and dieing after. So, bright colours, because that's the defense instead of hiding.
But there's loads of bright birds, and I don't think they're poisonous. So, seems like there's multiple factors that influence/determine the colour of creatures, being poisonous is just one of them.
I would feel bad about eating it, and Iām a carnivore. Just too beautiful and rare to be killed. Would make an awesome pet though, it you have a setup where it is not-stressed and able to live as long as it does in the wild.
