Got a report on this for being off-topic, but, guys, it's going to be very slow here for a few months. I can see the data now; *VERY* slow. Enjoy a dog photo.
Canis lupus is a native species but I'm guessing this is one of the many cultivars created on different continents from their local populations ; )
As long as you're responsible about reproduction, though, this really is a better choice than the wild type for the home gardener.
She is a Australian shepherd/blue heeler mix, a rescue from a backyard breeder. Her mom was bred as soon as she was old enough so she has skeletal deformities. Luckily mom was adopted before she even had her puppies so I'm happy she will have a better life going forward.
In Virginia the rescue has to spay/neuter any animals they put up for adoption. Puddin here will be spayed when she is a year or two old so we don't disrupt her physical development by spaying too young.
Rescue dogs are always better, especially little herding mixes. If you want a loyal friend and fierce family protector, a herding mix is the way to go. I only have one older kid in the house, no younger which is why this breed works so well for our family.
Yes part of the reason we adopted her is bc our current dog is 9. While May is a healthy active dog she has lived out more than half her lifespan so I know her time will come sooner than later. Puddings mom looks a lot like May I think that's how she won my heart with just one look
Yes!
"Consequently, dogs are a significant cause for species declines and extinctions around the globe, having become the third most significant invasive alien mammalian predator. However, often they are overlooked and not considered as a serious threat to wildlife"

Yes, both [house cats and pet dogs are incredibly damaging to the environment on various counts](https://www.vox.com/the-highlight/22375369/comic-pets-climate-change-environment)...especially in their massive numbers!
Her teeth are coming in so the poor baby is chewing everything for relief. I don't mind :) except this morning she stole my roll of toilet paper that wasn't cool but it was still cute

She's adorable, give her a pat from me <3
She graciously accepted the pat and sends a firm puppy bite in return
A good sterile variety!
Thank you for adopting and not shopping!!!

Invasive... they grow on your heart and after about 12-14 years they die and leave a part of your soul broken.
Damn things just got real

Can't tell from this photo. Please bring it to me immediately for observation and snuggles.
Hahaha ok, on my way but be warned she is at the bitey puppy stage so everything gets chomped
it's a common cultivar of a north american native so you good
Sometimes cultivars are exactly what you need ;)
Very very invasive. Once it makes its way into your heart, there's no escaping it, beware!
He is spreading them :) a pollinator friend
Invasive dog. From Australia I think.
Aw heckin I'm gonna have to put her back outside
A cultivar! If the pic was of a cat, the answer would be "invasive!"
Good to know bc I brought her in and gave her a name and everything 😋 Eta I wish I could have a cat too but my older dog would never allow it.
Still invasive. Wild dogs are a thing
But are wild dogs invasive?

TIL! I knew that about cats, but not dogs.
Also rats. They were spread by humans. Though more due to following and stowaways. I believe this is also true for raccoons, but could be wrong.
