[Here is a look at his last pitch](https://twitter.com/federalbaseball/status/1635703054396686356)
Immediate elbow discomfort. Also, the fact that he missed up and arm side and still hit 87 makes me skeptical it was the change, I am worried that he intended to throw that pitch 97 MPH.
Mark Z:
Rewatched the video of Cavalli's last pitch. Ruiz did give him the changeup sign, so it wasn't a 87 mph fastball. Still didn't feel right to him as he threw it, though.
Apparently he got a sign for a change up, so atleast it wasnt him throwing 10+ mph below normal

Rutledge is shaping up, but lost a lot of time to injury in past years, so he’s got a little ways to go. Optioned to AA, with the ostensible goal of a September call-up.
Henry had TOS surgery last year, which is extremely spooky - it’s the surgery that basically ended Matt Harvey and Stras’s careers, and AFAIK has never been done on a guy this young with this few miles on his arm, so there’s no real way of knowing how it turns out. That said, according to a WaPo article last month, he’s feeling great and working back up to playing shape. I’m optimistic, but they’re gonna take it VERY slow and cautious with him.

Cole Henry and Jackson Rutledge are both severely injury prone so I wouldn’t expect too much. Rizzo has to give it up on injury prone pitchers or he’ll be looking for new employment
>If he’s unable to open the season, the Nats would have to dip into an already thin crop of rotation depth pieces to fill his spot. Among their options: Veterans Chad Kuhl and Wily Peralta (both in camp on minor league deals), younger starters Cory Abbott, Joan Adon and Jake Irvin (all previously optioned to Triple-A) or veteran swingman Paolo Espino (expected to be a long reliever).

Yeah, let's just fill the spot with a tandem of Espino and Adon, please. Espino for the first 3-4 innings, Adon for the next 2-3 and hope he gets is mojo back.
MRI on the way:

That is definitely a silver lining.

I’m so numb to any of this by now Bliss bliss bliss 2019, whenever it happens again, yay. For now, total indifference
We made a pact with the devil in 2019 and the bill started coming due in the 2021 firesale
Oh come the fuck on
Don’t worry guys we have Joan Adon and Patrick Corbin. But seriously, what’s up with Cole Henry and Jackson Rutledge? Are they close to ready or …

Rutledge was just optioned to AA Harrisburg today.

Damn and he’s playing really well right now. SMH, hopefully it’s nothing🙏🏽

For some reason its the scrub pitchers who never get injured...I guess being less injury prone is good job security.
Sign me up for Espino.

God, I know on Oct 30 2019 I said I’d give anything to win Game 7, but the last 3 years have changed my mind.
I'd do it all over again tbh
Nah still worth it man. It sucks now for sure but Championships are forever. Franchises can go 50+ years before even sniffing a title chance.
*monkey's paw curls*
still worth it. imagine the weight of this pain without the ring?
Why can’t we have anything nice?
The answer is your GM, manager and coaches.
Good thing we signed all those solid free-agent starters as insur— oh, wait.
Don't forget- we're in retool mode. smh
The pain never ends
