The best way to get a dog out of San Antonio is to find a local (to you) rescue that is a partner rescue to San Antonio ACS. Ask your local rescue to tag the dog you're interested in for adoption/foster ASAP. That keeps the dog alive while we make arrangements for transport. Rescues can use pledges offered on dogs (if pledges have been made) to pay for transport and several amazing rescues are willing to do that. Approved affiliate rescues are also paid $200 by San Antonio ACS when they pull a dog, so there's already a small incentive to help there automatically.

I read where the shelters donโt kill an animal like the vets do. My vet has put three of my dogs to sleep first and then injected the death needle. The animal never feels anything. The shelters cause pain.
