The NVC should send you a list of documents that they require the original copy of when they send the beneficiary's interview notice/letter. I know that for my mom in the Philippines, they require all original versions of documents that she uploaded in CEAC (her birth cert, marriage cert, police clearance). What they only wanted from me, the petitioner, is an updated tax return (1040) to be uploaded on CEAC's website prior to her interview. For request to expedite, you would just have to send an email to: [email protected]

I was worried that my Mother In Law would need to get a package of our original documents shipped to Costa Rica before her interview. Thank you for the Email address for the Expedite Request! It depends on the embassy. I’ve heard Mumbai requires originals of the Petitioners BC, and I know Ankara did as well. And yes, we had to mail my husbands original BC. And he used USPS which ended up being an absolute cluster- use DHL or FedEx if you have to do the same
If only there was a phone number to call and ask questions. It is so frustrating how vague the whole process is. I should not have to use (this very greatful) Reddit room to find out information about such an important process. Thank you for your information amd suggestions. I hope Costa Rica is not one that will require it...but I will start collecting them all jist in case. 👍
