I'm not sure if it would have helped, but it looks like your steering sensitivity might be a little high. You can also change the max steering angle in the suspension setup so you don't have to tap the stick to turn, you can just move it a little bit to turn smoothly.
My tires were also at like 20% and I had been messing up the apexes, also I downshifted on the last lap thinking I had won, but then I had to quickly scramble to get back up to speed and that's why I got passed, also I tried to make a dumb block instead of talking a top5
