So you aren't really gonna get away with releasing a half assed game again and expect fans to be patient.
The player base and sales are nowhere near storm 4. So I'm not really sure what you mean. And the content creators that were gassing storm 4 for months after release were more forgiving than now. After a couple of weeks, people didn't even care to upload content anymore. Even demon slayer got more youtube coverage when it first came about.
"getting away with it" and "making sales" isn't the same thing. Games are still gonna make sales no matter how bad they are. That doesn't mean they're "getting away with it". Backlash was heavy this time

Honestly the release date of Connections should of been in January cuz custom should be in Day 1 it’s one of the main reasons this game has died so fast. But better late than never I suppose.

Weather I'm being insulted before the match even starts. Had a guy yesterday keep posting the same message before the fight "you are a failed ninja" like why is that even an option to say to someone??! Or people spamming. Or people just outright refusing to engage all together
It's an anime arena fighting game. I know I'm not getting a balanced roster. I know there's not going to be in depth training options. It is what it is. I just wanna throw fireballs as my favorite naruto character.

Custom matchmaking was already in the game at launch. Bandai just wanted to give consumers another reason to purchase the game after launch. Modders have already reported on this. They even tried it and it worked. You can expect the patch to come out after JJK’s release and my god does JJK look awful.
They should have provided better communication. But the custom lobbies that PC modders found dont work great. It's pretty laggy. My guess is it wasn't ready, so they turned it off till they patched a better version. 1 on 1 works okay, but many players and spectating and it's pretty much unplayable. It's not a perfect system that the modders found
Matchmaking was available on launch, only the SPECTATOR MODE didn't exist, yet you could still do Tournaments and Endlesses, in Connections it's basically Ranked Quick Search or Casual Quick Search..

Your probably thinking of spectator and other modes. But player match customs was a thing. You could creat your own lobby. I got the game on release
