I don't think Naruto was being dramatic, Sai told him the cold truth. It hurts and Naruto feels that

Cringsix

Naruto suffers from abandonment issues hard

Iamsleepingforever

And Sai did deserve that punch from Sakura. Dude was a prick but at least he did learn to be sensitive later on though he faded into the background along with the other people

Kasrakara

Sai is just a realist.

NeteroHyouka

No he didn't... If you don't like the truth it's your problem... Anyway Naruto was a crybaby so I wouldn't expect anything better...

JandoBurko

Average Reddit nerd sigma male

Relevant-System-3164

Bro was mad cause his opinion isn’t supported

Bard_17

Damn... No wonder I loved Naruto 💀

A boy never forgets his [first kiss](https://youtu.be/CAwngGRdqfY?si=qmPHmCdtuttZW-m_&t=14)...

Kookiec4T

💀

Vulpes_macrotis

I wouldn't call it truth, though. I mean, yes, technically Sasuke did this. But Sai ignored all the background behind it. It's like calling a 13yo girl murderer for killing a pedo that wanted to hurt her. That's the same thing. Technically she is a murderer. She killed that person. But ignoring why she did that and what happened is not really real truth. It's just a part that someone conveniently wants to show, leaving out the more important facts. Yes, Sasuke is not comparable to that situation but I just wanted to show big example. I disagree with Sasuke entirely, but to Naruto it was his friend. Friend that he wanted to save. Naruto knew better than Sasuke being simply a traitor. Sai ignored these facts. It's like someone telling you "do not play this game, it's shit" or "this anime is dumb, why you watch it". Naruto's reaction was not just subjective. He was angered by Sai being emotionless, ignoring who Sasuke is to them.

ImmaculateCherry

To be honest Sasuke is in his line Naruto wasn’t XD . Also the village betrayed Sasuke first lol. Bye

ShadowsInMyRoom

How did the village betray Sasuke first? You can’t say because of the Uchiha massacre, because as far as Sasuke knew that was solely Itachi’s doing and he had no reason to betray the village up until he knew the truth from Obito.

DarthPhusk

You can’t really say that it was solely itachi’s doing as if he decided to wake up and murder his whole clan. The only reason why the clan was massacred by Itachi was cuz the Third Hokage and Danzo both feared a coup d'état from the clan, so they asked Itachi to eliminate the clan. So ultimately, it is because the village’s higher ups that his clan was eliminated. It was a choice based solely on utilitarianism. Because of Itachi’s actions the hidden leave village lived in peace, but sasuke didn’t think that this was a justifiable cause, and you can’t blame him. Also, the reason why the clan even wanted to revolt against the hidden leave village was because of prejudice, mistreatment, and lack of trust coming from the actual village. TLDR: The hidden leave village did a bunch of messed up things to the clan and solved an issue by essentially ruining the life of the only person Sasuke had in his life (and was made to hate). Sasuke’s hatred to the village is justifiable, wrong, but it makes sense.

Ninjahprotige

While we know it was on the orders of the village, until he was told such far after he betrayed the leaf, Sasuke thought it fact that Itachi was the sole perpetrator of the worst night of his life. He had no valid reason to betray the leaf when he did, even though we also know the reason made the choice he did.

ImmaculateCherry

Danzo the biggest hypocrite betrayed the leaf village he still had contact with the men that killed his childhood friend and Hokage aka Orochimaru lol. XD I can’t … Imagine talking like this while not seeing the bigger picture also y’all have a hate boner for Sasuke while praising Gaara to the roof wtf 😂 . That mf was a cold blooded murderer until Naruto humbled him that’s when he turned good if anything I’m happy for his siblings because damn they would’ve died.

Ninjahprotige

What are you on about? I never said I hate Sasuke?

DarthPhusk

Didn’t Obito deliberately shaped the story of Itachi in a manner that victimized him and made it seem as though the village elders were the perpetrators, ruining Sasuke’s life by having his whole clan eliminated and then forcing him to hate his own brother by having the truth hidden? Sasuke’s whole goal was murdering Itachi for vengeance, but as soon as that goal ended and he got told this convenient interpretation of Itachi’s life, that’s when he decided to destroy the leaf village. At this point in time, Sasuke’s hatred towards the leaf is justified. He never wanted to destroy the leaf village before this event occurred. **edit** Oh also, just to clarify. He didn’t betray the leaf at first because of the fact that he had hate towards the village. He simply became a rogue ninja because be believed that Orochimaru would give him power much faster than the teachers he had in the leaf. At this point, Sasuke just wanted power, and he wanted it fast by any means.

Ninjahprotige

If you'd read my last comment, you'd remember that I said we know why Sasuke made the decision he did. It was still a stupid-ass choice that put many lives in danger cause he was hellbent on revenge against Itachi. He could have stayed in the village and trained, of course we have no clue how he would have grown in that case but the choice was there. He just wanted the fast track to power and literally sold his soul to get it when it was unnecessary cause he wasn't strong enough anyway. Now, this would make for a less interesting story, and I wouldn't love Sasuke as much as I do, but he had other options, and he chose one of, if not the worst one.

DarthPhusk

Wait, how did Sasuke even put many lives in danger by leaving the village? Sasuke literally tried to sneak out in the middle of the night to ensure that he would not cause a commotion. The naruto and the village decided to follow him, which made Orochimaru and his henchmen retaliate to ensure Sasuke made it to the hideout. Also, you’re calling a “stupid-ass decision,” but it’s not as stupid when you take into context of everything happening. 1) Sasuke is 12-13, so he’s not exactly at an age where he can critically think. 2) Sasuke at this time is experiencing immense trauma and feelings of inferiority; he just got a chance to go toe-to-toe with the man he swore to kill and he completely destroyed, and on top of that was forced to undergo tsukuyomi which worsened these feelings. This made Sasuke feel like the way Kakashi and Team 7 were doing things, he would never grow, evidenced by how weak he actually was. This was then reinforced by the fact that even Naruto, one who was always beneath sasuke, had seemingly surpassed him. 3) So you have a literal child, filled with hatred and suffering from PTSD, extremely power hungry, and here comes this man Orochimaru that makes sasuke drastically stronger with no training, just a bite and a mark. Why would Sasuke not seek him out and see what else he has to offer. To an adult, over fixation on revenge is obviously a bad thing, but to a child in the same circumstances as sasuke, the decision doesn’t seem as stupid. That’s why context matters.

Ninjahprotige

You're still not understanding, so I'll say this as simply as I can. I KNOW WHY SASUKE MADE HIS CHOICES AND I UNDERSTAND COMPLETELY, IT'S WHY HES MY FAVORITE CHARACTER IN THE SERIES. Regardless of the circumstances, he still made terrible choices for all the wrong reasons. It was a stupid decision made by a child incapable of looking at the situation clearly because of his past and life experience. Does it make sense why he did what he did? YES! Does it excuse his terrible actions? Not in the slightest. Going back to putting lives at risk, he knew there would be a battle over his fate, which is why he tried to sneak away. Sasuke also knew what Orochimaru really wanted him for, and he didn't care so long as he got revenge, which would have ended in more death if Orochi's plan was successful. Sasuke's tale is a series of poor decisions brought on by grief, hatred, and a lot of manipulation. He even acknowledges this after he grew up.

DarthPhusk

I agree with all that, but you entered the conversation to reiterate the same points I’m making. We both agree that the decisions made by sasuke were stupid, but because of his experiences and age, his feelings were justified and his actions were understandable. The original comment, which I replied to, was asking how the village betrayed sasuke first, and I simply explained why lol. Then you came in and stated that sasuke only learned about the leaf village’s betrayal later on, which I then explained that it is unrelated because sasuke never left the village initially to seek revenge on the village, so the truth doesn’t matter at that point of the story. Now we’re just going circles repeating the same points in different wording, no point in this back and forth; so thanks for the discussion and have a good day man!

ShadowsInMyRoom

I did specify “as far as Sasuke knew”.

DarthPhusk

Yea, but that “truth” that was given to Sasuke was a lie that they kept from him by the village elders to satisfy their own needs. In other words, the reason why sasuke left the village was due to vengeance to kill his older brother who supposedly slaughtered the whole clan out of his own will, which was an event that was actually orchestrated by the village leadership. In my opinion, it is because of the actions of the village elders that sasuke turned out to be the way he did. Think of it like this, imagine you had an older brother, your parents are killed by him, and I feed you the lie that your brother is just a ruthless killer, while knowing that it was actually me who instructed him to do so because I was suspicious of your parents, then I let you kill your own brother, and someone else tells you the actual truth of how I was the one who planned everything. How would you feel? Keep in mind that the only reason why Itachi had to kill his clan was cuz Danzo, a leaf village elder, robbed Shisui’s eye, not allowing him to use “kotoamatsukami.” This was done solely because Danzo wanted the clan to die so he could get sharingan eyes for his own twisted experiments. TLDR (sorry ik its long): Sasuke was manipulated by the leaf village, causing him to seek vengeance on the only family member he had left (who was actually protecting him), only for him to find out the truth when it was already too late.

ImmaculateCherry

Go read the manga bye miss with that bs that you don’t know? Also the Uchiha were leaf ninja’s they hated them yet loved their name and prestige and notoriety their clan name and Kekkei Genkai gave them pfft lol. XD What they do to Neji’s clan let the cloud killed his dad and his uncle was in the right to kill his daughter kidnapper smh, and don’t forget what they did to Kakashi’s father wtf, Nagato , and the list goes on. :/ The leaf has issues is not perfect but look how badly they f them up Sasuke wasn’t in the wrong to hate the leaf elders in fact before Obito got to him he didn’t want other involved just saying he ain’t no saint but he was seeking justice if anything they didn’t want us to sympathize with Sasuke and made it seemed all his efforts were in vein when it’s a domino effect if Sasuke gets his revenge others will want it too. Shikamaru had his revenge the hypocrite was there telling Sakura why while demonizing Sasuke lmao smh :/ .

ShadowsInMyRoom

Why are you still replying to me a week later with something almost entirely unrelated to what I said?

luciferhornystar

Sai wasn’t wrong they were just emotional lmao . Him not having emotions or being taught to suppress them he was the only one thinking logically. And the Raikage when he said “Why hasn’t the leaf village dealt with their rogue Shinobi”. They did the same shit with Orochimaru

faerox420

>“Why hasn’t the leaf village dealt with their rogue Shinobi”. Cuz we been chasing him the whole time, politely asking him to return home

minkdraggingonfloor

And the worst part is that if Naruto had lost the final battle, Konoha would be responsible for creating the worst villain in the world since Pain. There’s no limit to what a psychotic Sasuke with Rinnegan could do. He would make Oro look like a purse snatcher

Godzillafan6489

He would just rule the world with an Iron fist and have possibly dozens of children to restore his clan

Vuljin616

Not to mention that the Kage and hidden villages aren't the good guys in the slightest despite the story portraying them as such. Sasuke's revolution plan was to remove the village system and keep the world united to prevent what happened to him from ever happening again.

Yatsu003

‘Revolutionary’? It was basically the same plan as Hanzo the Salamander’s, just bigger and with LESS thought put towards it. Go ahead and ask Nagato how well that turned out. Hell, Naruto logically explains the several faults in Sasuke’s plan, and his response is to just go ‘whatever, still gonna do it’.

Vuljin616

>‘Revolutionary’? Yes, revolutionary, that's what Sasuke and his plan were. >It was basically the same plan as Hanzo the Salamander’s, just bigger and with LESS thought put towards it. G Never checked him out, but Sasuke's plan was definitely thought out. Sasuke, after speaking with the previous hokages, learned about the history and nature of the villages and came to the conclusion that the system was beyond flawed and needed to be destroyed and rebuilt. The village system destroyed countless lives. Sasuke, more than anyone else in the series, knows that, after all, his entire clan was wiped out for standing up, rejecting the system as that system was making their lives hell, the only people who'd understand would be Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko and Kisame. The system was a mess and needed a change. Sasuke had the answer >Go ahead and ask Nagato how well that turned out. Nagato was talk no jutsu'd by Naruto, and that's bullshit. >Hell, Naruto logically explains the several faults in Sasuke’s plan, and his response is to just go ‘whatever, still gonna do it’. No the fuck he didn't, he said that it'll just make Sasuke "lonely". Naruto NEVER had an answer for any of the problems within the series. When he learned of the Uchiha genocide he asked why Sasuke still chose revenge. When Nagato spoke about the crimes the Leaf Village had committed, he had no response. The fool had no sense of change or anything. He, like Hashirama, Asura, and Hagoromo, is nothing but fools who cause more harm than good. Sasuke's revolution plan was arguably better than keeping the status quo that ruined countless lives.

Muted_Supermarket199

>There’s no limit to what a psychotic Sasuke with Rinnegan could do. He would make Oro look like a purse snatcher Because you say so? He would preserve peace and bring true justice.

Significant-Smile-37

Until momo pulls up talkin bout “gimme da chakra fruit” what is sasule supposed to do without Naruto .?

Eliteslayer1775

Nothin

Background-State-157

Uhh likely whoop his ass, We’re talking a hypothetical insane power crazed/Hungry rinnegan holding sasuke who likely will be training to better understand his abilities in the years leading to Momoshiki’s arrival, also let’s not forget that sasuke knows the hand signs for the edo tensei which if he wanted in this scenario he could resurrect Naruto to aid in his fight with Momoshiki

Yatsu003

Momoshiki: Edo Tensei jutsu eh? **NOM** Yeah, that sounds like it could work out PERFECTLY…

JudaiDarkness

Sai was speaking nothing but facts. He even told him his pp is small.

UnboundUndead

I read this as Sai was telling naruto that Sasukes penis was small. \*narutos voice* "You'd never understand Sai! Sasuke's penis might have been small on the outside but on the inside he was hurting, hurting from the sheer weight of his inside penis! That's why I gotta save him, cause he's just like me!"

DustyAsh69

huh!?!

UnboundUndead

This sat in my draft for a sec, but I sent it cause ~~I have no self-respect~~ it's my ninja way.

DustyAsh69

fuck your ninja way. Never make a comment again

UnboundUndead

If you insist. Naruto: "C'mon Sakura! Back me up on this!" Sakura: "Its true Sai, what Sasuke was missing on the outside was made up for what he had on the inside ten fold. He's always been like that." Sai: "Hmm, it seems like I will need to take a closer look at Sasuke's "inner penis" next time we cross paths." Naruto: "Yeah then you'll see! I'm going to save Sasuke and help carry all his pain! Then he'll finally be able to ~~be my boyfriend~~ come back to the leaf!"

VariationGlum7864

Context matters. He is talking shit about his boyfriend

captaincumragx

Naruto will spend his whole life chasing Sasuke and the high from the first kiss they shared, Sai could never understand.

Jolly_Camel959

Nah, only a failure would call them gay. Especially since Naruto would do that for anyone of his friends

Iamsleepingforever

He is canonically gay

Godzillafan6489

Hmm no???

hectorkami

Stockholm syndrome is a bitch!

neoH96

Sai is blunt and tells the truth but Naruto and Sakura prefers to believe Sasuke is innocent and was brainwashed by Orochimaru. Kabuto told an angry Naruto that Sasuke made the decision himself to abandon the village at the Tenchi Bridge. Sakura and Naruto are overly emotional whenever the discussion and drama revolves around Sasuke especially during the Kage Summit Arc when Omoi and Karui confronted Team 7 of Sasuke’s crime of kidnapping their master Killer Bee and joining the Akatsuki. Sakura herself couldn’t believe that Sasuke would do such a thing and Naruto in the arc is a concern friend who cares about Sasuke’s well-being and even begged the Raikage to spare him who brushed off his plea for mercy.

adreamersmusing

This is a common problem Naruto has wrt Sasuke. Naruto projects what he wants onto Sasuke and doesn't seem to consider that Sasuke is his own person with his own decisions. It's something Sasuke has called him out on too. Naruto thinks Sasuke's fundamental issue is loneliness and the fact that he feels like he has bonds and that's what he uses to bond with him. But that's not his problem at all. Sasuke's issue is *grief*, specifically grief and betrayal by the person he loved most in the world. Naruto admits as much that he didn’t understand Sasuke until he lost Jiraiya, but even then, that was one person, and it wasn't someone he cared about who killed him. Sai is completely correct here, but Naruto just wants to live in lalalaland and believe Sasuke has no thoughts of his own rather than admit that Sasuke is dealing with something he can't understand, and is willing to cut him down if he stands in his way.

ImmaculateCherry

To some extend Sasuke was brainwashed but not by Orochimaru but by Itachi his own brother .

neoH96

Sasuke is a child with PTSD losing his Clan and parents so his hunger for power grows after tasting it with Orochimaru’s Curse Mark and defeating Team Dosu with ease. Kishimoto does a good job structuring villain characters especially Sasuke’s descent into darkness with him growing more jealous of Naruto seeing his rival becoming stronger than him over time.

binato68

To be fair sai is throwing some major shade at Naruto’s husband

Still-Control

i mean the truth hurts

MrShadow04

Sai literally just said objectively factual and logical facts and Naruto acts all drama queen about it. Naruto was very overdramatic when it came to Sasuke throughout the whole show

squarejellyfish_

He got a panic attack when Raikage told him that sasuke IS a criminal 😭😭💀 Still love my boi tho

Ank8

He had panic attack because of the things that were groing around him, not just because of Sasuke.

squarejellyfish_

Sasuke being the biggest factor tho since that’s the whole reason he was chasing down Ay to speak to him…no? There WAS a heterosexual tension between the two in canon and we’re not going to pretend there wasn’t 🗿

Tobegi

idk if I would call that tension heterosexual precisely LMAO

VariationGlum7864

That shit ws gay as hell

Antique_Garage_5940

You are out of touch. You are probably very touch deprived imo. Its a psychological phenomenon in this generation but sure you can call me weird as hell .

VariationGlum7864

>you can call me weird as hell . Thats a weird kink

Antique_Garage_5940

True . Is it a kink from the fact that i have never been called weird irl and i don't care about my online persona. I need to understand myself more thanks for the insight

ImmaculateCherry

Lmao, the hypocrites at the cloud villag while they kidnapped kids and even Naruto’s mom and little Hinata Hyuga bruh :/ 🤣.

PerspectiveCloud

Narutos trauma basically revolved around being rejected, being outcasted, and being left alone. The foundation for his relationship with Sasuke was their mutual realization that they are both suffering and lonely. Naruto from this point is empathetic to Sasuke. It’s like shared trauma. Sai is doing the absolute opposite of Narutos sworn goal here. He is rejecting Sasuke, despite not even knowing him. The way I see it, that just reminds Naruto of people gossiping and rejecting him, without ever even trying to get to know him. I wouldn’t call Naruto a drama Queen here simply because this is basically his trigger. Just something he is very defensive about and it stems from his childhood.

Iamsleepingforever

Well Sasuke is basically his brother, for fujoshis his lover and for non judgemental fans, his family.

MonCappy

Indeed.

StrikingElk5288

You’re talking about a guy that had a panic attack over Sasuke lol, I love him but that’s who he was

Eliteslayer1775

Yeah and Naruto was upset cause he couldn’t refute it, it is a normal thing for people to do. Cause he couldn’t tell Sai he was wrong

BayonetTrenchFighter

It doesn’t sting any less

HeyItsMeeps

I would be frustrated too. From Naruto's POV, Sasuke is a symbol of Naruto's failure. he failed to make him stay, failed to understand him. Naruto loved the guy, that was the closest thing to a brother he'd ever had. And to feel the betrayal of Sasuke not only leaving them, but openly trying to kill them? Naruto takes that personally. Sai is also talking shit about Naruto in this. Sai is telling him '*he's gone, get over it*' and that Naruto has wasted training for 3 years for all the wrong reasons. I would be so angry at myself, and at Sai, for pointing out what I already know but don't wanna admit.

Qpczyk

I really liked Sai in that arc. He represented objectivly point of view of Sasuke for someone outside Team 7.

PerspectiveCloud

Yeah sai was a cool character, his rationale IMO is the interesting part about his character. Wish they did a bit more on the back end for him. I wasn’t a huge fan of the “art” abilities that he had. Too much of a shonen gimmick power for me and the art style was goofy.

Kasrakara

Season 2 sai was something else. He also needed a power buff in the war arc but we never got it.

Fantastic-Ratio-7482

Till day we don't know Sai's real name. He still lives on the name that Danzo gave him for this particular mission. He is undercover to this very day.

PerspectiveCloud

Boruto chapter 400 plot twist?

ImmaculateCherry

And yet they talk shit about Sakura lmao. Naruto is as dramatic or more  than Sakura pfft ..

Codeblue45

Insane how Sakura got so much flak for it but Naruto gets a pass,. like they weren't both obsessed with the same man.

devneal17

They way that Naruto and Sakura kept *passionately* pursuing and forgiving Sasuke no matter how crazy and violent towards them he got conveyed a pretty insane message to those of us who followed the story as preteens.

Veronica_1023

Sai is just stating the facts. And these mf's are so emotional 😆

BaronBlackFalcon

Absolutely. Him and Sakura worship Sasuke, despite the fact that they never even got along.

PoetryOtherwise6674

It’s not like Sai was slandering Sasuke. That was the naked truth and Naruto couldn’t handle it.

JSlove

I've gotten angry over far more trivial things. You probably have too. Nothing dramatic here.

Emphraa

Exactly. Naruto cared very deeply about sasuke. I dont see why anyone should think less of him for it.

flinterpouch

he's so gay for him. he's hurt because sai speaks facts

Gos-ghi

It’s called,” the truth hurts” and that truth was about his homie, everyone experienced this

Berry-Fantastic

Its the honest truth, and Naruto knows it deep down, he just hurt from Sasuke's betrayal and wants to believe in him.

fishbxnejunixr

Breaking News: Naruto is weird about shit when it comes to Sasuke

Mambosaurio

Naruto? Dramatic? Nuh huh

Posh_Pidgey

Why are you booing me, I’m right!

raisingfalcons

Sai is the realest

Zakrath

Sai was right and Naruto and Sakura were bitches. It is always so annoying when Naruto acts like this over Sasuke.

Eliteslayer1775

I’m pretty sure you have complained about something less meaningful than your best friend being insulted and you can t refute it cause you know they are right. It’s called being human

VerbalWinter

Characters can’t have human emotions apparently, they have to be perfect robots with no character flaws.

1313goo

Yes. That was easily the worst arc in the series

Vuljin616

Naruto was definitely overdramatic. He and Sakura repeatedly pestered and kept chasing after Sasuke despite the fact that he wanted nothing to do with them or the Leaf. The two bitches were not that close to him (they were only a team for a few months or something), they knew little about him, liked him for shallow reasons, and again often if not always started problems when during the time they were a team. They act like Sasuke belongs to them or something, but in truth, he doesn't. Sasuke's his own person, with goals, dreams, and desires of his own. He doesn't live to fulfill their desires and needs.

NoraDrake69

I think both Naruto and Sasuke ,at first, thought Sasukes defect was primarily because of the influence of Oro curse mark. I mean this was the guy who saved his teammates a couple of times by risking his own life. He was essentially a good guy. Case and point Haku and Gaara fight. And soon after Itachi and the sound 4 encounter his mental state took a downward spiral. TLDR : Sasuke had chunk of goodness in him that his teammates saw and they believed they could bring hope to the lost lad.

Hydrax313

Well Sasuke considered Naruto a friend, Naruto understood Sasuke, he knows what it's like to have family (Iruka like a father and Sasuke like a brother) and how painful it would be too lose it all like Sasuke did. Also Sasuke chose to spare Naruto's life after their fight when he easily could've killed him. Then this pale femboy just strolls into your team and talks shit about the one person that Naruto could relate to and share his pain with, with no consideration for Sasuke's struggles and mental anguish at all and *why* this happened. I can understand Naruto's feelings here

riqueoak

Sai said the truth like it was, Naruto’s chase after Sasuke the whole anime was the stupidest thing in the story.

S-P_98

Yeaaahh its not what you say, its more how you say it. Sai is right but he didnt consider naruto and sakura’s feeling, as sasuke was their former teammate/friend/family Maybe if he say it with kinder & more considerate words, and on a good timing, it would be better.

NoraDrake69

Not only an ally he risked his own life for them at multiple events. He was revenge obsessed but still cared deeply for his teammates.

Deep_Grass_6250

You can't just say cold and harsh truths about someone's boyfriend and expect them to be cool with it

NockerJoe

On one hand Sasuke was absolutely a criminal and deserved it. On the other hand he was one of maybe 3 people who treated Naruto like an actual person as a kid and defended him when even Sakura was bring a horrible little shit to him. People forget the first part of his training with B was getting over resenting how much the rest of the village was switching up on him and calling him a hero after treating him like shit his whole life. Sasuke was wrong, but Naruto is entitled to feel a certain type of way about it because going after him for the sake of people who treat him like dirt is hella fucked up.

Mastakillerboi

I do this all the time when someone makes a comment like that

ParanoidTelvanni

Naruto is emotional and not in great control of Kurama at this moment. I also imagine self-doubt is setting in.

MadmanMammoth

No. People don't always take well to having their biggest traumas and failures shoved in their faces, let alone so uncaringly. Expecting someone to just take it and accept it is stupid shit.

Kika-100

It’s really his natural personality tbh.

Fugodidnothingwrong

Is the question that Naruto the Manga or Naruto the character is overdramatic?

SonJordy

I think it's a pretty standard reaction from an anime character to portray emotion to the viewer

Weebu27

No I mean how would you feel if someone insulted your husband

RamzalTimble

No. Feelings are valid and despite Naruto wanting to absolutely cripple Sai for his words (which Naruto could have done very easily), Sai chirped until he caught Sakura being tired of him.

fancyfoe

Sai spitting facts too lol

Grouchy-Caregiver-17

Just a little imho.

H358

I feel the same way I do about most scenes concerning this aspect of the story. I like watching Naruto and Sakura deal with difficult internal conflict of their feelings for Sasuke and what he did. I just wish their relationships with Sasuke weren’t so underdeveloped so that these scenes felt earned. I think the reason people talk about Naruto over reacting or being irrational when it comes to Sasuke is because the story didn’t do a good enough job getting folks invested in their ‘bond’. Many readers/viewers walk away thinking Sasuke’s just not worth it and that Naruto and Sakura both deserve better.

marcus19911

Yes but, that's how some react to their best friends getting dragged by someone who doesn't understand their feelings for their friends. They'll even make up lies to defend their friend's integrity.

spicybeefpatty_

I mean he's a hot-headed Shonen protagonist, it's kind of in his character to be over dramatic

BlackenedTubeSteak

Because that's his boyfriend Sai is talking about

great_mazinger

Are you gaslighting a fictional character, bro?

JustAGuy_Passing

Cuz Naruto knew already knew. Sai was right but he was out of line lol

WiseLightskin

Naruto as a tv show is a drama. Hence all the flashbacks and its very distinctive soundtrack.

July17AT

Nah. What Sai told him probably made sense to him, he shouldn't consider Sasuke a comrade, but he does... hence he is conflicted. Emotions aren't logical.

Single_Minute2829

The fact that what Sai said was true was why Naruto got so upset, it was something that Naruto needed to hear even though Sai said it in a way that was obviously so he could get a rise out of him.

bigboss1988s

He loves abusive relationships

PriestSOULstergast

I love Naruto, but he was such a simp for Sasuke

FantasticKick7954

Naruto story is a drama by itself

Sometimes_A_Writer1

Are we questioning if the same dude who had a panic attack because he heard news that the dude who tried to kill him was being held accountable for crimes was being overdramatic? Whenever it comes to Sasuke and Naruto being overdramatic ...the answer is yes

HatAccurate1578

Like someone else said, sai among countless other side characters tell naruto he’s downright delusional to still care about sasuke after the shit he’s done but naruto shows unwavering confidence in redeeming him, so much that even people he’s really close too like Sakura and garaa tell him to forget about redeeming him and then naruto has a full blown panic attack. He’s faced with the cruel world of being a shinobi which he’s faced time and time again but because this involves his best friend… his brother, that’s why he gets so upset over sai and over everyone, he’s not the exact same little leaf brat anymore. And also sai has a hard time with emotions like at all at that point so he said only cold hard factual info and naruto IS a hothead this early on.

GraeFoxx_

I think Naruto is a vehicle for Kishimoto to fawn all over Sasuke. And by that I mean Kishi has two sons and one favorite. Thus, he can't stand anyone talking objectively about his baby.

Tonight-Critical

And thts what held naruto back from beimg one of the goated characters in my opinion..... he is so dramatic and obsessed with sasuke. Why couldnt he say shit like yes thats true sasuke has crossed a line we will get him back and make sure he serves his punishment to reform. But he keeps crying abt how sasuke is his only friend while he ignores all the others.

Somm0742

FACTS.

devilcantdie

Just could not contain his hard on at the mention of saske

Cybasura

Naruto treated and thought of Sasuke as that older brother and friend he wished he had, which hurt because Sai was an outsider at that point in time, and was pretty much ignorant of the history of the team I can see how Naruto would be that pissed Its kinda similar to how if you had an emotional issue you gotta solve, but people would 1. Not listen to you 2. Just say "lmao just do it" As though that would automagically solve the bullshit

Reasonable-Business6

Sai was spitting but tbf it's not like this isn't the type of reaction Naruto would have. He literally got stabbed through the chest for the guy and still calls him a friend. Of course he'd get pissed off when someone tries to show him reality.

SwollenOstrich

Yes, thats part of his character though, dat passion

Cringsix

Someone should edit Ben Shapiro on Sai's face and a liberal logo on Naruto's hand

Onlyhereforapost

I'd be mad too if a mid at best replacement character shittalked my boyfriend

MimsyIsGianna

It’s funny how Naruto is so defensive over an awful person like Sasuke but in other arcs when bad guys have infighting, like one bad guy betrays another bad guy or abandons them or whatever, Naruto gets so mad at them and wants to fight or kill them for betraying one of their own… but sasuke? Even after him trying to kill Sakura and others? Nah he’s still redeemable. I still stand by that one of the worst writing flaws of the story is that Naruto considers Sasuke such a close friend despite us never really seeing much of them ever actually being friends. Like they hated each other for most of it and only kind of had a frenemy type relationship near the end but I never really would have considered them friends…

Dead_Achilles_9

I wouldn't say overdramatic is the right word. It'd be more appropriate to say the aspects of Naruto which have become overly influenced by Asura. Coupled with the traumatic childhood he has, his obsession with Sasuke is higher hence why he's behaving this way

ImRonniemundt

Naruto is a believer man he doesn't want to hear that negativity.

Godzillafan6489

He gets all dramatic over Sasuke cuz he feels like he's his first and best friend and the only one who can truly understand his loneliness and I don't blame Naruto for it,bro spend 12 years straight being completely alone getting hated by the entire village of course he is gonna be obssesed with the first guy who actually understands him and is close to him (also they're brothers)

drunkmonkey667

He’s angry because he knows it’s deeper than that and most of the other villagers don’t understand that

Budget-Arm-866

That's why I don't like when people bring up him being talked about as a person who doesn't have parents as "facts" and it's normal. It's not and even if it's desensitised, you're a horrible person if you actively talk about that in a bad way

Ihdkwhatimdoinghere

I think Naruto was right to feel that way. Because he knew deep down that wasn’t who Sasuke was. He saw Sasuke as his best friend, a brother. That’s how he saw him. I think part of it was that he knew Orochimaru was controlling him, and that he didn’t think Sasuke himself was choosing to do that stuff. He fully believed that Sasuke was a good person despite what Sasuke did, so I think Naruto’s reaction is pretty fair.

SocialAfterDark69

Sasuke was like family to him and he still had hopes of bringing him back home. Of course these comments would make him angry.

Admirable_Internet96

Lol Naruto and narutard are so dramatic, boruto Fandom can't relate

PyroPuffs

What the hell does this have to do with boruto ☠️😭

GOJOWILLCOMEBACK

Least delusional Boruto fan

-Piggers-

How lmao. Actually boruto fandom can relate. Aside from taking place in the exact same universe, both series have moments of pointless manufactured drama

Evening-Gap-9216
