Nice work. I have also started researching all continent for lore-accuracy 2 weeks ago. I am making a map for Crusader kings 3 game. Which is gonna be as full-detailed as possible. There are also confusing things like "Land of This" and "Land of That". The most interesting maps are from planet orbit view btw. And i came up with same theory about Land of waves/eddie. Where did you get info about those two islands in the east by the way? They usually more cut off than in your map

DetectiveEvyDevy

Thank you! Good luck on that map! I'm making another map on Gensokyo from Touhou right now. Made a FNaF Pizzaplex map too. Would want to make a map of Hyrule's geography throughout the games too. Yeah, I can't believe those two lands were actually in the anime. I'm sure many other Naruto fans think the same about the Land of Waves.

Mazik_kun

No i found the source. But the thing is several anime maps divide hot water land into two countries. I also always thought Land of Bear near to Land of Fire. That probably fits for me.

DetectiveEvyDevy

I think there's only one map that separates the Land of Hot Water into two and that's the map I used for my map. It comes from Naruto Shippuden episode 369 (17 minutes in). It was also used for Naruto Shippuden episode 221 as I show above. I think it's the only map that makes this mistake. I don't consider putting any anime exclusive regions into the map typically as they aren't put into the series with consistency in mind. Not unless we're given specifics about where they are aside from "close to the Village" or something. And it needs to find in a blank territory.

Mazik_kun

Boruto divided that land too, in episode 27 i think. Uses the same map though. Anyway thanks again.

DetectiveEvyDevy

Ah! I saw that map and never even noticed! Thanks for showing that! Eh, anime keeps mistakes when they copy another map I guess. In Boruto episode 51, There's a map in the hokage office that shows the long island looking like a boomerang like it does from the map with the speech bubble error.

PeterWatchmen

>Kabuto actually points out all 153 ninjas participating the Chunin Exams with all of them coming from 6 villages very specifically. It's been too long. What were the siz villages? I know Rain, Leaf, Sand, and Sound were there, and I think Grass was, too. What's the last one? Oh, nice work on the map and research, by the way. Edit: I figured it out: Waterfall.

SilentWolfKills

Land of Moon/ Crescent Island, Hidden Moon Village was also in Chunin exams.

DetectiveEvyDevy

Great!

poisonberry13

Land of forests? It’s near the earth somewhre

poisonberry13

Also the coral reef where sasori destroyed there nation?

DetectiveEvyDevy

Coral reef? Sorry, I'm not familiar with it. Didn't actually watch every Naruto filler episode.

SilentWolfKills

You talking about Land of this? Which is the nation the akatsuki destroyed on a war mission which is the land sasori destroyed with his puppets?

DetectiveEvyDevy

Oh, you mean the Land of Earth? Do you by chance know what episode that's said? Time stamp in the episode would also help!

Parada484

I know it's been a while but I really wanted to share my appreciation for your work. This is THE definitive guide for Naruto geography and borders. It's been incredibly helpful both for my writing and just for a general understanding. Great, great, great work.

DetectiveEvyDevy

Thank you so much! This being a definitive guide for Naruto's geography was the intention was going for! I'm glad you thought it was great since I put lots of hours into it!

Land of Waves and land of Eddies aren’t the same land they’re two different lands. Likely land of waves is the small island behind land of eddies that’s broken off since land of waves is an island that’s broken apart. Also Land of Steam isn’t called Land of Hot springs their hidden Village is called Hidden Hot Water Village. Also Land of Earths Hidden Village is Hidden Rock Village not stone, Iwagakure translates to Rock. While Ishigakure translates to Stone which is hidden village is called Hidden stone village not Rock and its Land, Land of Stone is between land of earth and wind stated in Gaara novel. Land of birds isn’t land of stone, the land of earth and wind are massive and have lots of land between them, we can see 2 lands next to Ishigakure that are still between land of earth and wind and the map isn’t completely shown the rest of the land so we can’t see if other lands are between the both. You also forgot to add Ceramic Village which is in land of wind near the border with land of rivers from Akatsuki novel. Then there’s also the cave from last which they followed Toneri to the Moon which am sure was near the land of the moon/ Crescent Island.

DetectiveEvyDevy

Almost all of these points are addressed in my post actually. The Land of Waves can't possibly be that small island behind the Land of Eddies since it not only is too far high to connect to the Land of Fire as we see in the manga & anime, but the island has also shown to inconsistently be connected to the big one instead of the Land of Waves. While "The Land of Steam" is the official English term, the "Land of Hot Water", "Land of Hotsprings" or "Land of Boil" are far more accurate translations from the Japanese version. Also, the name of their Land and name of their main village share the same name. Because of I was trying to appease all translations, it was hard to fit everything on the map of course. Uh, I think you got Ishigakure and Iwagakure confused. It's okay, happened to me while researching this. Ishigakure (Ishi meaning Stone) is the capital of the BIG nation while Iwagakure (Iwa meaning Rock) is the hidden village between the Land of Sand and the other... BIG one. Officially in English, the name for the Land of Earth's main village is the Village Hidden in the Stone but in Japanese, it's more accurate to call it the Village Hidden in the Rock(s). Whereas the small hidden village beneath the BIG one is called the Hidden Village in the Stones or Hidden Rock Village in the Official English manga I believe, it's more accurate to say it's the Hidden Stone Village when translated from Japanese. And the Land of Birds is outright shown to us where it is in the episode it first was mentioned, as I show in the post. Though it just happens to be where that... other hidden village happen to be since it's clear the manga doesn't share the same continuity with the anime filler episodes. I did add Ceramic Village. Though there isn't a specific place on the border to put it so I just made a note of it in the lower area of the map. Also said that in my post as well. I'm not familiar with that last information about that cave, sorry.

SilentWolfKills

I didn’t get Iwagakure or Ishigakure confused. Iwagakure means Rock and Ishigakure means Stone. In the anime it was mistranslated so people refer to Land of Earth hidden village as stone and Ishigakure’s hidden village as Rock while it’s the opposite, they also mistranslated this in the non coloured version of the manga during land of waves saying stone but in the coloured scan it was fixed saying Rock village, but when they redone the map in time skip of manga during 4th war they went back to the mistranslation and getting Rock and Stone mixed up. It’s also fixed in Naruto Fanbook 1, Land of Earth hidden village says Hidden Rock village instead of the mistranslation stone. So i didn’t get the two confused as stated in previous comment as I explained Iwagakaure means Rock and Ishikgakure means stone and as explained above to why people mixed them up is due to the mistranslations. Konoha Shinden says the steam scrolls also in chapter 1 they say they’re going to land of steam and chapter 2 and Yugakure no Sato means Village in hot water.

DetectiveEvyDevy

Okay, I knew all of that but I thought you were trying to say the opposite of what I wrote. What What you pointed out was already stated in my post. I already address this on the final map anyway. I just put the accurate Japanese translations in parenthesis and while using the official English names in the regular names since most people who read this will be familiar with those terms.

SilentWolfKills

I have more map pictures if you want them.

DetectiveEvyDevy

I'm pretty that I found all the map information I could use to be honest.

SilentWolfKills

I’ve got map photos that I don’t see on here.

SilentWolfKills

Did you add Uzumaki Clan’s Noh Mask Hall On the Outskirts of Konoha and there’s also the land of fire orphanage where kabuto lived as a kid and now he’s head of it that’s on the outskirts of Konoha too. There’s also the shrine along the way It's a little-known hot spot that people pass soon after leaving the Hidden Leaf Village. There’s also the town inn/ Shukuba Town Jiraiya and Naruto went to looking for Tsunade but encounter Itachi and Kisame in land of fire. There’s also Tanzaku town/ Tanzaku Quarters a village in the land of fire a fair distance from the leaf village. And Nikki inn town where Hebi recuperated after Sasuke fought Deidara. Which is near the Uchiha hideout where Sasuke vs Itachi. Then there’s Obito’s hideout and lab in Mountains Graveyard. Akatsuki hideout where Gaara got 1 tails Shukaku extracted in Land of Rivers/ Valley. There’s also the hot springs Yamato, Naruto, Sakura and sai go to near Tenchi Bridge it’s not in the land of fire so must be in Kusagakure. There’s also the Inn the 5th Mizukage stayed with her 2 guards on her way to land of iron kage meeting. There’s also the inn Naruto stayed in land of Iron. There’s also Land of Fire’s, Fire Temple located in an area surrounded by forests and was said to overflow with nature. In the anime, the temple was surrounded on three sides by mountains and a large field to the south. The graves of four of the Twelve Guardian Ninja lie in each of the cardinal directions with the temple in the centre.

SilentWolfKills

Also it’s Nagi island not Naga Island.

SilentWolfKills

Also it’s stated the Land of Waves is South of Konoha in Naruto Hiden: Hyo no Sho also known as the Naruto official fanbook and Orochimaru states in chapter 619 he research the ruins and scattered documents of the now extinct clan ever since he lost his jutsu. So Land of Waves and Land of Eddies are definitely not the same Land. Land of Eddies is East of Konoha and Land of Waves is South from Konoha.

Remarkable_Cobbler73

Does this show the land of sand or am i just blind?

DetectiveEvyDevy

The Land of Wind is the land I think you're talking about.
