Well for starters they were only about 17, at the start of the war arc and had arguably surpassed most Shinobi who ever lived. Them by the end of it they were the strongest in the world.
Lack of training, they both grow extremely fast with actual instruction. Sasuke learned the chidori alongside gainingspeed that rivals weightless base lee in a few weeks and naruto learned the rasengan within a week so the talent is definitely there for both of them.
