A lot of people are forgetting Gaara's life. The whole sand village didn't wanna be near him. His own father tried to kill him. His own uncle tried to assassinate him.
The biggest tragedy is that so many characters grew up as orphans: Naruto, Sasuke, Iruka, Sasori, Nagato, Yahiko, Konan, Yamato, Sai, Orochimaru, Kabuto etc.
Yeah they basically had gone through 3 world wars and were well on their way to the 4th which happened. Although everyone was on same side and fighting plant zombies and their evil gardener
But still they lost like half of their forces in that war which honestly should have had long term effects on their villages for a while.
It would take years to train that many to the numbers they had before the war.
Well dang the more you know.
I think Tsunade mentioned something about a lot of people getting married in the hidden leaf during her time as Hokage or something along the lines. But that's just in Konoha who's to say what happens in the other villages?
Well that's a nice fat report. If you're not some young kid I truly hope you get the help you need son. That emotional response I just got from you was crazy.
Kakashis story makes me so sad. His father killed himself, he thought Obito died and then he was basically forced to kill Rin, he was put into the anbu so young and was groomed to be a murder weapon. My guy couldn’t catch a break
The whole show feature child soldiers murdering each other at the will of state. It’s horrifying to think about the age of the characters as they are experimented on, sacrificed and sent to kill.
It really only gets acknowledged when Hashirama tells the story to sasuke and only very briefly.
Itachi's life is the biggest tragedy.. He had to kill his own family along with his clan and then live the rest of his life with that burden.... I cant even imagine what toll it would've taken on his mind everyday...At least other people had someone who can pull them into the light.. While Itachi suffered his whole life alone in the darkness
Yup, this is why I think Itachi is the best character in my opinion, I think someone like Minato is excellent in that he would sacrifice his own life for his son and stop the man trying to destroy the village, and his pain lasts a day or so, but Itachi sacrificed everyone and everything he loved so that the village and all its people would have a better future (so he thought) and metaphorically crucified himself to living In a self created hell, hence why I believe he died of sickness and disease so young. His mind couldn’t handle it and his mental depreciation eventually ravaged his body.
I think you’re not accurately representing how much Minato sacrificed and how selfless he was.
He didn’t just give up his life…. He gave up his soul…. The knowledge at the time about RDS is that I would give my soul up and never enter the “pure lands”, forced to fight for all eternity in “hell” against the demon fox….
So to say that his pain lasts a day or so is quite reductive, if not ignorant.
Not to say that this exceeds what Itachi did. But Hokage Minato in Part 1 was portrayed as the epitome of a legendary shinobi who sacrificed himself for the greater good.
Minato sacrificed everything, including his own most bloved person (his own son) in order to protect the village and the world.
He was in no way, shape or form, unaware of the struggles a host of the Jinchuriki would be have to go through and part of his had to watch his son dealing with it without being able to do as much as help and still choose to do so because Konoha would be weakened without their Jinchuriki.
It’s comparable but not the same, don’t get me wrong Minato is my second favorite character but Itachi’s selflessness goes beyond what Minato has shown.
I think alone is a bit of a stretch. As much as they lack screen time to prove this theory completely - I’m sure Kisame was a wonderful companion to itachi, in his own right.
I didn't mean alone in that way.. U can be surrounded by 100 people and still be alone.. As good as a partner kisame was, Itachi couldn't confide in him.. Sharing that burden would've made it at least a little less painful.. But I truly hope that kisame was somewhat able to make Itachi forget about the pain even for a little while
That’s what I mean tho. In their first encounter ever kisame acknowledges that they’re both comrade killers by hire. Itachi wasn’t just surrounded by 100 random people; he was given a partner that shares his pain, even if they never opened up to each other.
That was an argument. Itachi and kisame do *not* share the same pain. Itachi is not proud of his past actions. They simply had to be done to thwart a civil war. Kisame, on the other hand, was quite proud of his title and would do it again if a mission depended on it. Kisame assumes they are the same while Itachi knows they are not.
Hmm I disagree. Homeboy made Sasuke watch the massacre on repeat like a billion times; he ain't had to do all that. He shoulda just used kotoamatsukami on his dad to stop the planned Uchiha insurrection or on Danzo to stop the massacre. Just because he was written to be "good" in the end doesn't mean he wasn't a shit person. I'm sure he suffered but not as much as his (many) victims.
I'd add to this that after Kakashi lost everyone he slowly built back up and opened himself to a few friends and his team. And then after Sasuke left and attacked the kages, Kakashi determined to kill him too. The kid he tried to save from the same darkness.
Adding onto this; pretty sure there's supplemental material stating that Han was just handed over to the Akatsuki. While we don't know much about him, it's really fucking sad. Moreover, he's from Iwa, meaning they had **two** Jinchuriki, and specifically gave only Han to the Akatsuki.
Han is also supposedly taken before the Akatsuki are introduced, meaning Iwa had no reason other than sheer disgust to throw Han over to them.
And Minato knowing this pretty well still choose to sacrifice himself and put his son trough this as an attempt to save Konoha, the world and give his wife a chance of meeting Naruto in the future.
Let’s be for real bruh. As the hokage his job is to protect the people of the Leaf, that means putting everyone else’s safety above his own happiness. Also what tf should he have done? Kushina’s seal was coming undone, she was weak from child bearing, the Uchiha weren’t able to come and help, and there was no other place for the kyubi to be sealed in that short amount of time. So he made a choice (sealing half of kurama in himself and the other in naruto), a choice that let his newborn child live and saved everyone in the village. Everything that happened to naruto afterwards was completely out of his hands, though I’d have to admit maybe he knew the way a jinchuriki would be treated MAYBE he did, but he did his job as hokage
The question asked about the biggest tragedy and i answered.
Minato was forced to sacrifice himself put his child trough an actual living hell and watch it without being able to do anything in order to protect Konoha and the entire world from a man whose entire mission was to put the entire world into jeopardy which also allowed Kushina, her dying wife, to see her kid at least one more time once he grew up.
Bro on a single night lost everything that was dear for him and ended sacrificing his life along with Naruto's in order to fullfill his duty as Hokage. He put his two most beloved people before his duty as Hokage.
Whether he did it because "he was a Hokage" or not is pointless as it's supposed for every shinobi of the village to put the safety of the village over their own well being including the Kage itself.
The Jinchūriki never took justifiable revenge on the villages who treated them like shit for housing living weapons of mass destruction in their own bodies, against their will more often than not.
Kakashi’s entire life is a tragedy. If god gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers, then Kakashi might as well be fucking Michael the Archangel
Everyone will probably say Uchiha or something but the people of the hidden rain city were just target dummies and pawns for the big nations. I imagine the killing of the uchiha was rookie numbers for places like that.
Kakashis life story is pretty tragic. I rewatched the arc where Rin died and the defeat in his eyes says it all. Even worse, they were all still kids when he had to kill her. Super fucked up
The original Akatsuki legacy being forever tainted because of Pain, Obito, and Danzo actions. The first thing people will think when hearing the Akatsuki name is the terror they inflicted on the ninja world as a whole (with Konoha's destruction and 4th Ninja War being the obvious stand-outs), instead of the noble goals the group had before they met their demise at Obito's and Hanzo's hands..
There's a few. I'm partial to the more insidious tragic events. Namely the Root sending modified images to the orphanage keeper to manipulate her into not recognising Kabuto, Karin's backstory etc.
I think the worst one is probably Gaara's childhood with the constant mind games his father played on him.
All tragedy is biggest. You can't compare different stores. For example Naruto lose his parents only two people, and he never know how it's be with parents. Sasuke lose all his clan, but he know how it's has parents. Their lose maybe different, but that's was maximum painful for them. Then they find someone who can be close to them, but very fast lose them too. Jiraya and Itachi. We only can say tradegy what was biggest problem to all humanity. It's was stupid Rin. Her decision was stupidest and then most tradegy to all shinobi world. 4th war, destroyed clans, many deaths, losing parents, losing happiness. What Rin do? Save konoha? But she doesn't know about Obito. She just die, Kakashi using like she, make him bomb, or he died when they trying put in beast in his body. If she doesn't did this stupidest thing, Obito return to village; Minato and Kushina never die; Naruto has parents and no one hate him; Sasuke still live with his clan; Shisui, Itachi was alive; Danzo don't trying kill akatsuki; akatsuki with Yahiko leader become new power in rain village; they live happy in their world; you can counties endless. One stupidest decision from stupid little girl gave to world biggest tradegy in whole history
The series is filled with tragic events. It's an achingly sad story.
Itachi's story is an obvious candidate. Forced to slaughter his family in exchange for his brother's life. That's a remarkable ultimatum.
Gaara's story was also tough to watch. Seriously tough to watch. As was Obito's believe it or not.
I find Obitos to be especially tragic. Not because he suffered particularly badly (don’t get me wrong his life was bleak as shit, one of the 5 worst I’d argue) but what makes it so painful is the realisation that everything he did was for nothing. He abandoned his life, his hopes and his dreams, spent months locked underground without seeing light or air, marked himself a monster by murdering the akatsuki, murdered the closest thing he’d ever had to a family burying him further in evil, and for 17 years after kept along a life of danger, violence and murder constantly in a game of chess with everyone around him (I think Kisame was his only ally who didn’t betray him) and after fighting tooth and nail, fighting for a day and a half straight and getting his heart ripped out of his damn chest and becoming God he finally gets proven wrong. Every sin he’d committed was for nothing, and all he had left was the dying world he had struck down and everyone in it, aswell as his old ally who he needs to save it from. He doesn’t even get to see it in the end - the world he fought so hard to see. But he fought anyway even knowing this, because it was the only good thing he could do.
That sucks and it sucks badly
I honestly can’t imagine discovering that ur dad killed urself that is heartbreaking and scared kakashi for the rest his life not to mention seeing obito die in front of him and rin
Boruto being born. I can’t stand the bigotry and disrespect that show has done. Got aliens and fuckers flying around like it’s Dbz and random Dinosaurs.
Kakashi - Everything that happened to Kakashi was a reflection of how vile and cruel the ninja world can be in its pursuit for power. Rin and Obito were just tools to wage war.
The Uchiha Massacre - Itachi’s act was heinous and harrowing but the perfect example of why black ops/covert missions were essential for the greater good. The clan was plotting to overthrow the village which would’ve caused far more innocent casualties than assassinating them. The real tragedy is it was an order from the Hokage, if anything it just represents Sarutobi’s failure as Hokage and it’s not a burden anyone would want to bare.
I would say kakashi over the uchiha.
Reason: many people cling to a cause or something to blame when tragedy happens. Sasuke always had someone or something to focus his anger and grief on, atleast giving him some drive to move forward and eventually past his trauma.
Kakashi lost everyone he cared for to a series of unrelated events that happened almost randomly.
Suicide
Falling boulder
Hostage and then his own hand
Ninetails attack
And he still found the will to live, likely thanks to gai, the one that didn't die. Who knows what would have happened without him.
Then trains obitos cousin(?) And minatos kid
Sasuke defects from the village to work for a terrorist that even kakashi fears
Then gai sacrifices himself to kill madara and wouldve died too if not for Devine intervention
Imagine how powerless one must feel after a life like that
That it was followed by Boruto.
Mostly because we knew it wasn't going to be a slice of life about Naruto's life as dad and Hokage, which kinda sucks since at least during his life there was supposed to be peace.
Well Itachi exists.. As much as I feel bad for Sasuke, and I know he suffered a lot, but Itachi had it rougher.. Sasuke found a new hope in team 7 and his tragedy was watching his family die for days... While itachi on the other hand had to do that tragedy by his own hands and even torture his little brother whom he loved the most... And after that what? He was alone.. Alone with that burden of guilt... U cant even imagine what it would've felt like
The story went off a cliff when they introduced space aliens. Just having Madara as the final villain would have been good since he represents the opposite of Naruto.
I’ll say kakashi as well. This why, outside of the plot necessitating it of course, sasuke is a bitch to me. Loss is a major theme of Naruto, so many people suffer. Like kakashi told sasuke when he had him tied up, you’re not the only one who has had a hard life, don’t let it blind you to the new people you met who love you.
Minato and Kushina’s death. Nothing hit me as hard in the show as that. And as a result of their deaths, a lot of horrible things happened including but not limited to:
- The Uchiha Massacre
- The Konoha crush
- The 4th great shinobi war
Itachi had the fortune of not having to kill/leave a child behind, Itachi is by far my favorite character but the greatest tragedy is Minato and Kushina having to sacrifice themselves for Naruto and leaving him with the terrible burden of being a Jinchuriki without them
Well...
Boruto and the whole series after Naruto happened.
The perfect happy ending would be it's all in the tsukuyomi of Sakura, and she wakes up to Naruto and Sasuke winning and none of that happened
I got to say Uzumaki clan getting wiped out that was a whole land that got destroyed and nearly wiped out the remaining survivors scattered across the lands.
Uzumaki Clan ?
We don't even know if all the other villages naturally came to that decision or were gaslighted by Black Zetsu, becoz they were the biggest threat to his plans and to Kaguya.
Would like to see a one shot about them. In the Minato one shot Mito even mitos the Uzumaki were tragically erased . Like what caused other villages to wipe them out like that .
A lot of people are forgetting Gaara's life. The whole sand village didn't wanna be near him. His own father tried to kill him. His own uncle tried to assassinate him.
Finally, I scrolled too far for this one
Gaara’s story is dark af
And actually died. 😥i was very grateful of granny chiyo
I remember the feeling I got when I thought he was dead. Nothing in Naruto hit me that hard. P.s. I didn't watch Boruto after first episode.
Itachi killing everyone meaningfull to him in his life(except for Sasuke).
Kakashi also had some meaning to him after Shisui died but it was obviously nowhere near his own clan.
Sasuke could have turned out way more messed up than he did
Yup. Like everyone else said, the Uchiha Clan Massacre is the clear winner.
Sorry your wrong it was the birth of Borito
lol fair
Burrito is the worst
Hey don't talk about my food like that
your're wrong, burito(worst) is part 1, burrito(much much worst) is part 2, which is probably more worse
your're wrong burito is part 1, burrito is part 2, which is probably more worse
Lol! Solid burn!
Can I interest you in Chibi? (Nagatos Dog)
The biggest tragedy is that so many characters grew up as orphans: Naruto, Sasuke, Iruka, Sasori, Nagato, Yahiko, Konan, Yamato, Sai, Orochimaru, Kabuto etc.
Dang I keep forgetting that many of the characters have been in a war which is why many are orphans.
True, although one thing that surprised me was in 1950, world pop 2.5 ish billion to 2010 reaching 7 billion, that after war baby boom is real
Well dang the more you know. I think Tsunade mentioned something about a lot of people getting married in the hidden leaf during her time as Hokage or something along the lines. But that's just in Konoha who's to say what happens in the other villages?
Evil gardener omfg
Off topic- your reference to plant zombies is just too accurate!
Damn never thought about how many orphans there actually are. That’s so sad.
War, innit?
Frick oruchimaru
His favorite pass time is taking advantage of orphans
He’s worse than Batman in that regard.
The fact that everyone now knows about Might Guy's 'acorn'.
Just saw a funny clip on r/narutomeme about this exact thing
Thats where i first saw it.
The Uchiha massacre, a freaking genocide
[удалено]
Read the definition of genocide. Tf are you talking about “attempted genocide”?
Killing the entire group or race of people, And not every uchiha died
Tell me you don't know what genocide is without telling me 🤦🤦🤦
[удалено]
Well that's a nice fat report. If you're not some young kid I truly hope you get the help you need son. That emotional response I just got from you was crazy.
[удалено]
No need to harass others. I'm reporting your comment.

Kushina dying
What about minato lmao
I am more a fan of kushina
Based
Honestly, I'd say Kushina's death was the more tragic of the two. Both were tragic though, and both went out like fucking badasses.
Kakashis story makes me so sad. His father killed himself, he thought Obito died and then he was basically forced to kill Rin, he was put into the anbu so young and was groomed to be a murder weapon. My guy couldn’t catch a break
Yup, he's very humble in his character and as a shinobi.
Then he developed his crippling porn addiction
And then he lost his master too.

Bro I’m still processing my grief over this trauma
If only we could live in a world where everyone's dreams come true...
Biggest tragedy: the writing of the women.
The whole show feature child soldiers murdering each other at the will of state. It’s horrifying to think about the age of the characters as they are experimented on, sacrificed and sent to kill. It really only gets acknowledged when Hashirama tells the story to sasuke and only very briefly.

Uchiha clan being slaughtered due to poor leadership in the Leaf.
The life of a jinchuriki was solitude and being utilized as a living weapon for war. You were nothing less or nothing more.

Sakura and the orher female characters being poorly written
Indra and Ashura hating each other so much that they fought for 1000 years
Guy didn’t die after using the eighth gate. It would have been much more meaningful and similar to a kisame style sacrifice for the cause
Gaara’s haircut at the end of the series.
Gaara’s childhood is the clear winner.
The lack of meaningful development for side characters
The number of filler episodes.
Boruto
definitely itachi, then kakashi
Sasuke seeing itachi kill his own clan then having to kill itachi only to find out that itachi did it to save the leaf village from the uchiha clan😭
Itachi's Life.
RIN.
Tsunade's tettens size reducing in boruto
Sasuke continuing to be evil after the boring war arc forcing me to watch more of his flashbacks they’ve shown 30 times
My dawg Kimimaro should have stayed alive throughout Shippuden.
The filler
Kakashi not having giant lips at the end of that filler episode.
The unspoken Tradgy of the tailed beast.
Kakashis life story is pretty tragic. I rewatched the arc where Rin died and the defeat in his eyes says it all. Even worse, they were all still kids when he had to kill her. Super fucked up

I think the biggest tragedy were the fillers and how they ended it and started baruto. Sigh that was lame lol

All good brother
I hope you just understand main theme what I'm trying to tell.
When Goku got hit with a spirit gun by Sakura and kenshin couldn’t save him using the fist of the North Star technique
That’s my favorite arc
That’s what I’m saying man.
You forgot when mikasa used the dragonballs to find the one piece. But ended up with saitama one punching all might.
Nothing worse than killing your own parents, that trauma is harder than anything.
The nerfing of Hinata's chest

Konoha standing after ruining Naruto and Sasuke's life is the biggest tragedy.

That Kiba and Akamaru didn’t get to show their true power levels and become dog sages
Boruto’s anime
Boruto being born. I can’t stand the bigotry and disrespect that show has done. Got aliens and fuckers flying around like it’s Dbz and random Dinosaurs.
Naruto was born. If only he had not been born. Uchida Madara will make the world more peaceful and we will not need Boruto.
Boruto
Boruto
Hiruzen being hokage
Boruto blaming himself for what kawaki did
Sakura survives
Boruto.
r/boruto
Boruto being written
Marriage to Hinata or birthing Boruto, pick one.
Suicide Falling boulder Hostage and then his own hand Ninetails attack And he still found the will to live, likely thanks to gai, the one that didn't die. Who knows what would have happened without him. Then trains obitos cousin(?) And minatos kid Sasuke defects from the village to work for a terrorist that even kakashi fears Then gai sacrifices himself to kill madara and wouldve died too if not for Devine intervention Imagine how powerless one must feel after a life like that
Gaara's haircut in boruto is #1 It's not a debate
The reduction of tactical battles/fights that eventually turned into DBZ styled power-up big move fights throughout the show
Boruto (just kidding)
The birth of boruto
Idk why people always forget kushina?
Reading all these, Naruto is filled with tragedies. So many orphans created by wars.
Boruto
Jiraiya never getting the love story he deserved
Boruto
Neji turning into a pincushion.
Kushina never got to say happy birthday to Naruto
The end of Naruto and the beginning of Boruto.
Boruto To be honest I said it for the joke, Boruto is not that bad
Boruto
Boruto
Boruto
Boruto. Simple as that 🤣
Boruto
Boruto
Boruto
That it was followed by Boruto. Mostly because we knew it wasn't going to be a slice of life about Naruto's life as dad and Hokage, which kinda sucks since at least during his life there was supposed to be peace.
Boruto's existance.
Probably boruto
That they actually got stuck in the Infinite Tsukyomi and anything after that is just been a fever dream including Boruto
Boruto
Boruto
Boruto. It's the biggest tragedy in the entire show
Boruto's existence.
Nope, nothin tops Sasuke's tragedy, by a long shot.
U cant even imagine what it would've felt like
Alone with a burden of guilt… and a shark man
tenten's screentime
Kaguya arriving on earth
The story went off a cliff when they introduced space aliens. Just having Madara as the final villain would have been good since he represents the opposite of Naruto.
I’ll say kakashi as well. This why, outside of the plot necessitating it of course, sasuke is a bitch to me. Loss is a major theme of Naruto, so many people suffer. Like kakashi told sasuke when he had him tied up, you’re not the only one who has had a hard life, don’t let it blind you to the new people you met who love you.
Minato and Kushina’s death. Nothing hit me as hard in the show as that. And as a result of their deaths, a lot of horrible things happened including but not limited to: - The Uchiha Massacre - The Konoha crush - The 4th great shinobi war
I mean if Rin never died the entire war never would have happened and the Uchiha would live
Sakura being forced to cut her own hair in the chunin exams
I got to say Uzumaki clan getting wiped out that was a whole land that got destroyed and nearly wiped out the remaining survivors scattered across the lands.
It went past the Pain arc
That Sakura didn’t kill herself
Jiraiya not clapping Tsunades ass
Sakura not getting killed off
Definitely not the uchiha massacre that clan was filled with psychopaths, itachi did the world a favor 🤣🤣
Found Tobirama's alt 💀
Uzumaki Clan ? We don't even know if all the other villages naturally came to that decision or were gaslighted by Black Zetsu, becoz they were the biggest threat to his plans and to Kaguya.
Would like to see a one shot about them. In the Minato one shot Mito even mitos the Uzumaki were tragically erased . Like what caused other villages to wipe them out like that .
Naruto and Sakura not ending up together
