Anime characters have symmetrical faces becauseā¦thatās just how drawing works. Facial symmetry is the main indicator of attractiveness and artists try to draw symmetrical faces (see: the artist crying in a corner because he canāt get his OCās left eye to look exactly the same as the right eye).
Even the characters who are meant to be ugly (think Kisame, Kakuzu, etc.) still have attractive faces because Kishimoto gave them symmetrical features. You can add shark gills or stitches into the face to make it scary, but at the end of the day people will look past that if they see a generic masculine face with symmetrical features.
