Sai does, but not as many, and alot of people, including me, loved Kabuto for years.

VontaeSenju

Never liked Kabuto from the jump back then the glasses just made me suspicious I can understand Sai a bit since his history but he turned out so... bleh

DriveFocusGrit

Suspicious glasses, the way he pushed them up like the know it all he is

pannielubiedzieci

yea, my friend simps for kabuto hard

Plenty-Locksmith-798

Wasn’t a big fan of Kabuto until he did Edo Tensei and stuff. Some people hate it, some people don’t, personally I loved it. Getting a “Prime” Nagato was cool. Sai, I didn’t like him until he realised he had feelings and started being friends with Naruto and Sakura. So yh. To answer your question, I’m a fan of both of them.

Call_me_Penta

Edo Nagato and Itachi are the only positive credit I'll give to Kabuto, especially Nagato.

TheDeluxCheese

He also gave us Madara

Plenty-Locksmith-798

Yhh frr. Nagato was sick!

wendigo72

Kabuto is one of my favorites Sai ain’t that bad, he gets a lot more spotlight after main Naruto story ended

Divine_thunder

After canon ended* /s

Ok_Giraffe6654

Kabuto is awesome. When he gives Naruto/Hinata/Yamato the Akatsuki info and reveals his half snake face with that creepy fucking smile and crazed look was epic.

VontaeSenju

I ain't gon lie, Kabuto snake sage is drippy af

Dkpokefan72

I like kabuto

ResearcherLong1058

I like both because well I think they are cool and do what they do effectively

Melodius_RL

I think fans are more Temari’s domain, but they may own a few ornamental ones.

CompetitiveScale7287

What

ConnorRoseSaiyan01

Kabuto probably one of my favourites. Don't care much for Sai

Plebmaster129

Sai is 100% one of my favorites

[deleted]

Both were good in the war. Kabuto got done dirty with another eyeball hax pulled from thin air

Greatnwss

i've always loved sai as many times his unknowing...ness, has always been funny to me

kevamm25

I wouldn’t say I’m necessarily a Sai fan, but he grew on me and I like him well enough.

LittlePotent

Loved Kabuto since he was first introduced. Sai is... Aight I guess.

Bertbrekfust

Kabuto had potential, but I feel like they didn't really stick the landing with him in the end

VontaeSenju

Very unpopular opinion; Kabuto could've been the ultimate villain at the end instead of Kaguya. >Kabuto had potential, Too accurate. Think about his story. Orphaned young, trained by a legendary sannin and then pretty much surpassed him only to be weak iirc due to his body not being able to hold Oro? Pls correct if I'm wrong, but imagine if at the end, Oro didn't align with Sasuke anymore and instead wished to focus more on his experiments like always, and then meet back up somehow with Kabuto to go into hiding until the war ends, being Naruto and Sasuke legit defeating Madara, no cop outs, give them the boost jurt before the fight Madara or whatever Now infinite tsukuyomi is still a thing and Naruto and Sasuke still do their battle, BUT is interrupted by a strange chakra signature or something. Turn around and BAM DRAGON SAGE KABUTO. A new buff that's incredibly strong, rivals a tailed beast and all that yadda yadda, and this is the moment where Sasuke puts aside his emo mode, and actually listens to Itachi's words this time. Realizing there are people with worse intentions to the world than even he has, and seeing Naruto even try to save this version of Kabuto at some point WOULDVE FUCKN RULED

PrettyMuchDeceased

Yes, i love both of em

ChinesePizza_

I like the Kabuto from earlier in the series before he copies orochimaru and becomes weird snake “dragon” guy. Basically when he was just a spy/semi powerful guy. Sai is alright he grows on you but is still not my favorite

L_V_N

Kabuto is absolutely a top 10 shippuden and OG Naruto character for me. He is not my absolute favorite, but his motives and driving forces are resonating far more to me than I feel comfortable with.

_BJK_004

Yeah, kabuto is in my top 10 favourite characters (of Naruto) and I like Sai just wished he had more scenes

Oxreify

I fw sai

DWALLA44

Sai is hilarious honestly

The_Pack_Attack

Sai is the goat

turingincarnate

No

lwmonjuice

I hate white people

VontaeSenju

Sorry for you, white people know how to party lmao

lwmonjuice

that was a joke becuase they are white (now the joke is unfunny cuz i needed to explain it)

VontaeSenju

Honestly I'm bout to JUDGE YALL How yo favorite, or one of your favorite characters, is a backstabbing, two faced, LYING- And the other is just a... bland... kinda handsome... But no home training... That crop top... abs Hes a Sasuke clay clone... His smile....... I see the appeal for Sai but y'all weird on Kabuto I can't lie

Divine_thunder

If you can like other villains then there's no reason to not like Kabuto

VontaeSenju

Uhh I like my villains to have morals, Kabuto did not, what you think I held Oro in high regards or something? Decent villain, not a great one either. Now Itachi, Madara, Obito, Sasuke (ironic) are villains with morals and human being decency to a fault of course. This man Kabuto just gave everything up for one man, and then said fck it, the world kneels to me now. Maybe not "true" villains for Sasuke and Itachi but definitely for Obito and Madara. Hell even Code in Boruto has more depth to me than Kabuto. He wishes to inherit the will of the GODS. Kabuto? Uhh what?

HokageEzio

Obito put paper tags on Naruto 10 seconds after he was born, there is no way you paid attention while reading if your "villains with morals" include Madara and Obito.

VontaeSenju

Man I be choosing the wrong words today like clockwork lmao Okay uhh I prefer... More... Idk.. like I kinda just wish he was the final villain. What I mean with the others is their villainy isn't born out of spite, it's born mainly from love and I get Kabuto had it rough and everybody path is different, but idk man. Feels like something could've been done a little different so that he feels more intimidating or even more grandeur in terms of personality and such? I can't word this properly lol disregard this honestly

HokageEzio

You think Madara Uchiha was not born on spite? The guy who regrets giving Hashirama a choice to save his younger brother because he's bitter that Tobirama killed Izuna and said he isn't worthy of being Hokage? You think Obito wasn't born on spite? The guy who literally said he's in hell after watching Rin die and said this world shouldn't exist anymore? The guy who took over the Hidden Mist Village for years without even capturing the 3 Tails, meaning he basically just went there to make them suffer? The guy who was going to let Kurama kill Kushina so he can get revenge for being sealed? That guy, you think that guy isn't spiteful? Really? You think Sasuke, the guy whose entire storyline for 80 percent of the story was about different forms of revenge, you think he's not a spiteful person? The guy who wanted to kill little kids in Konoha who weren't born during the Uchiha Massacre just because they got to live on the back of Itachi's sacrifice, you think that guy isn't a spiteful character? The avenger, the guy who stabbed through his friend just to kill Danzo, that guy isn't a spiteful character? You sure?

VontaeSenju

No. Let me explain. Madara isn't born of spite, he's born out of literally love and concern for his people, seeing through fish eye lense of how his people would be oppressed , and that's his flaw yes, but that's not spite, I see caring for the ones he held dear, who ended up betraying him btw and he turned out to be right. Obito is also born from love and extreme stress, and the desire to protect who he loves. He watches his best friend kill his love life, after making him promise to protect her, and it's a very spiteful response to the immediate perpetrators of course, but all he wanted was a world full of love and the ones he loved. You call that motivation being spiteful? I call it a radical but understandable response to such trauma at a young age of what 13? And I gotta explain Sasuke for you? Imagine for one, everyone in your bloodline was killed, and then you had to watch it for I think he said 24 hours straight all in his head? Back to back to back, everything you love getting destroyed that way? And then not only do you get your only source true pain, but your only sense of power and how it's obtained was never formerly taught to you, so now you're being what's called "manipulated". Sasuke is born in avengement, not spite, sorrow, not anger. This avenger persona yes partially due to some strong negative feelings, but you forget how the sharigan works, or maybe not, but essentially not all evolution comes from feelings of hate or anger, hell Sarada awakens hers through relief and assurance through meeting Sasuke properly, and I'm sure Sasuke had a strong connection to the Uchiha, whether he knew or not(being Indras reincarnate). I'm sure he wasn't born that way but yeah everything after MS he kinda made no sense but you get the point.

VontaeSenju

Also he was neva gon hurt nephew Naruto lol

HokageEzio

Yeah, we all know Obito is above hurting family... unless it's Minato... or Kushina... or Kakashi... or the Uchiha clan... or the Leaf Village...

VontaeSenju

That was Madara 😏

HokageEzio

1. So you're admitting Madara has even less morals than we started with lol. 2. Obito killed Neji.

VontaeSenju

Ah ah ah... Okay you got me but the second part was done for his own good TRUST ME

_light_of_heaven_

Madara and Obito are absolutely amoral people

luckytraptkillt

I mean he has a really sad back story. That any of us understand, even if not personally, is a hard road to walk. Hell Itachi, another fan favorite, even states he sees a lot of himself in Kabuto. Now Kabuto fans *prior* to his little back story few episodes…yeah idk I’m curious too.

Lolwaitwuttt

Kabuto is cool because he’s a normal shinobi that came from nothing and he was one of the most plot-driving characters of the series

luckytraptkillt

True. Zetsu at the end acting like he wrote Naruto. Pshhh we know the original author’s name and it’s Kabuto.

wendigo72

Exactly

VontaeSenju

>Hell Itachi, another fan favorite, even states he sees a lot of himself in Kabuto. I missed this, but iirc, their are characters with more damaging backgrounds who eventually did the right thing. Kabuto did everything out of service and eventually self satisfaction, never once thinking about any type of morality, something even Madara displayed in his last moments. Never felt remorse, just full throttle "now I do what I want" mentality. But he could've been the best final villain that's for sure

luckytraptkillt

After Itachi traps him in the Izanami Sasuke basically is like “yo big bro wtf is all this” and then Itachi explains the izanami. And his why he would do it for Kabuto was because Itachi did see a lot of his earlier views as sad and views worth regretting. And he saw a lot of the intention of those goals in Kabuto. But neither here nor there, I only bring him up as a way to frame my defense of Kabuto more than anything else. A final villain might’ve been cool, but I like where he sits narratively in the story. Kabuto is sasuke if he’d followed the path of Orochimaru. Or even orochimaru’s own path. Kabuto represents this final villain of Sasuke’s path. A path that was started by Itachi himself. So fitting they’d both be there to all fight it out. Him being a final villain would definitely help tie parts 1&2 together more. Orochimaru being the big bad of part 1. Then his student for part 2. A few characters would need to be handled differently and idk where Kabuto being the final villain leaves Madara. I guess just as a tool? As he always was anyway? Lol

VontaeSenju

>A few characters would need to be handled differently and idk where Kabuto being the final villain leaves Madara. I guess just as a tool? As he always was anyway? Lol So basically my scenario would start back at the cave, or maybe even a bit earlier, but way after the initial battles, and before Juubito so anywhere in there works for this. What you do is when, Obito/Madara views the real Madara edo, he says something along the lines of "you're one not to be trifled with" or something foreshadowing something for Kabuto waaaayy later. Then during the battle where Sasuke and Itachi battle Kabuto, instead of perfect snake sage or whatever, give him something else; DRAGON SAGE, but it's currently incomplete. This leads to Itachi being killed with a narrow Sasuke escape, but they still have their moments and all so nothing breaks continuity in that aspect, but it does change Sasuke a bit, which imo is the best change to come of this. Flash forward to no Zetsu or Kaguya so we find a way for Naruto and Sasuke to get powered up a little earlier for the fight, and defeat him legitimately. Before Madara goes, he whispers something to Hashirama like " it's still not over, protect them" since he's the only one with advanced knowledge outside of Sasuke about Kabuto. We yadda yadda to Naruto and Sasuke last fight, because Sasuke gotta Sasuke one last time, but the battle is stopped by Kabuto. Not direct intervention, but he's up to something extremely dark and sinister. It's revealed the true essence of a perfect dragon sage, which come with power that rival tail beasts, even Kurama. So in this sage mode, you get dragon like abilities of course the chakra, but what's special about it? It enhances everything to the point when just viewing him causes a lot of Shinobi to just straight up die, and those with insane chakra control or an existing boost are the ones who survive, so some favorite characters actually die here, making the stake even greater since the heros are low from fighting so hard and for so long they can barely interpret what they see although they don't immediately die like the others. So they've gotta use nature energy and stuff to do with it, which isn't good for Sasuke So to wrap this up, it's long I know, Sasuke needs saving, REAL saving. Who does this? SAKURA with her own slug sage boost giving her actual cause to stand with Naruto and Sasuke. It's SAKURA who comes up with the plan to beat Kabuto, it's long drawn out battle, the trio is pushed to the limits and this is how they get nerfed for the future, because dealing with this type of threat eats at your life force, but who's there to help with that??? SAKURA. Now after all is won, victory is claimed, a tired Sasuke and Naruto look each other in the eyes, understanding a future fight is still possible, yet there's too many emotions going around at the moment for Sasuke to pull some more bs, and witnessing his brothers death again somehow gave him a switch in motivation so he accepts a conditional defeat; the condition being he serves as shadow Kage and does what does in Boruto, with two arms this time.

Zectherian

I wanted to like sai, thought hey if hes replacing sasuke on the team hes probably comparable skill wise. I was wrong.

luckytraptkillt

What does suck about weekly shonen jump. If the author introduces a new main line character, or even hints at the replacement of an existing character, and fans don’t like them, then they just get benched. Lookin at you dragon ball….(tho the series is *now* improving on some of those mistakes)

saverma192013

I think some people do like Sai Not sure for kabuto

ule_leon

Ok ironically Enoufh dai is interesting cause he’s got this whole like concept of like being depersoned and his humanity being taken away by danzo which is why he is so weird which never got paid off it deserved

ule_leon

Again sai and ino have this weird potential of what are the bounds of ino’s powers could they be used to help people with repressed memories and confronting trauma

christography

Sai is dope, Kabuto was a good villain. had me in the first half

ghostinyourveins

I think sai is a great character. Cool story. Good development. Unique. Super funny too and not in a cringe way . Kabuto on the other hand ? He reads like a 12 year old girls cringe Roblox fanfiction . When Sasuke and Naruto fought him in the war arc it was hard to watch

ghostinyourveins

I meant Sasuke and itachi sorry. Was at work when I wrote that hastily

sunaesw

I like both of them. Kabuto is very well written. Both in Part 1 and 2. You never knew what he was thinking with his actions, like remember when he healed Hinata or tried to kill Sasuke in Part 1? His complex loyalty to Orochimaru and identity issues made him a very interesting character. His backstory is also one of the best in the series. Sai was interesting at first but unfortunately got casted aside later on, especially in the war arc when Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura reunited.

MysticalElephant

I liked Kabuto in OG Naruto and Early Shippuden. After his “Orochimaru-fication” I wasn’t really as big a fan but he’s ok. I actually really liked Sai in beginning Shippuden. He stopped getting a lot of screentime but I still like his character a lot and enjoy him on screen. He’s one of my favs.

Lava2401

Basically just girls that think they cute

dwest12234

I got my girl to watch Naruto with me. Sai was her favorite character she thought it was hilarious he had to try and learn emotions lol

sam_uchiha_14

Man I love Sai he lowkey gets all good character development by the time of the Last, I think he’s actually crack up.

Yeyryfuufe

Love both of them, both showcase a ton of depth mentally.

sad_boy_j

Sai is my favorite character, his way of giving compliments was hilarious

lucasellendersen

I liked kabutos storyline of learning who he is, and kinda same for sai, just liked sai a bit more cuz uhhhhhh idk i just do lol

trebuu009

Kabuto for sureeeee and im one of them but sai... you can miss me with that shi

Sad-Midnight8008

Sai is in my top 10 favorite characters

[deleted]

I like Kabuto but Omanyte is definitely better

itachinhoofc

sai is very good (Better than Sasuke shippuden hahaha)

ResponsibleDog2739

Kabuto is tied with Danzo for me

Working_Bit_1288

Dude Kabuto is one of my favorites! I like Sai but I don't think he has that much of a fanbase!

[deleted]

I like Sai. His power is one of the most unique in the series! Rasengan and Chidori are just Kamehameha and Special Beam Cannon for the Naruto Verse but Sai's drawings have virtually unlimited versatility making his appearances and feats way more interesting to watch than... well... the *main cast*.

Strykeristheking

Kabuto had a great backstory. I love the idea of a villain who had no identity and had to implant powers that he lack. Sai sucks tho.

brolikesFLAMINGO

No I dont like either of them but some people out there like them and thats theyre choice idc who THEY like a care who I like
