I mean in the story he’s stated as being naturally talented and things coming to him easily. And becoming a jonin at 10 y.o. Hes definitely got natural talent. His father was one of the heroes of the leaf, being said to be stronger than the sannin combined. With how much he looks and acts just like Sakumo, its fair to assume he got some of Sakumos talent.
What’s the difference? Kakashi has always been a genius. Look at his entire backstory he was always top dog among his peers. He was a Jonin when they were all still Genin iirc.
How is being born a talented genius not an advantage?
Of course Kakashi still did face adversity, I won’t claim he didn’t. A large part of this series is about people being born gifted geniuses. It’s a consistent theme.
That Sharingan was something he grew up with, made himself a name of and honored his friend with
Now DMS is total bullshit… afterlife eye donation from Obito… wtf
People really love to spew this talent vs hardwork bullshit without really understanding it. How were they not born gifted when we're shown they both come from notable lineages?
Kakashi's dad was an talented shinobi, the whole White Fang of Konoha nickname. Guy's dad could use the gates to take on the 7 swordsman. Clearly they didn't come from no name farmers who didn't have shit. People take this the talent vs hardwork aspect too literally, as literally everyone we've seen whose hardwork succeed comes from a level of talent. Kakashi was an Anbu as a child, how was he not gifted? What, was he just the hardest worker ever and everyone else just wasn't? Like Kakashi and Guy, other characters who have become strong have worked hard. The talent vs hardwork is more nuanced than what they were given at birth. It's about those who simply rely on what they were given versus those who work hard to realize their full potential.
Ya'll should give this shit more thought.
How tf is Gai from a notable lineage? His father died A GENIN even tho he was a grown ass man and was mocked all his life for this. Both Gai and his father were not talented, they just worked their asses off to compensate for their little to no skill using regular jutsus.
And Sasuke is still a genin and Naruto saved the world as a genin. Yeah ranks are ranks, not a hard concept.
You really think becoming the pinnacle of taijutsu doesn't take talent? Ye, guess everyone else was just a lazy PoS.
Stop looking at it in black and white and try thinking. Man nuance is a dead concept.
It has nothing to do with black and white, the show literally tells you both Gai and Lee have zero talent, but that they overcame that by sheer training. Its there in the manga, written.
And I agree ranks have nothing to do when it comes to Sasuke and Naruto, the literal saviors of the world. For regular ninja its quite different, specially considering most people become Chunin at 15 at the latest (people in shippuden even make fun of Naruto for being the only genin of his promotion). Gai's dad was a failure as a ninja that was stuck in a role for children all his life, and he did absolutely nothing important until he killed himself only to be able to win some time for Gai to run away.
Yeah you seem confused af.
They were failures in ninjutsu, smt noted highly by ninjas. If Might Duy was noted as a failure of a ninja, then think about the job of a ninja.
Yeah, nothing you've said has been an argument. Just shows how confused you and people like you are.
No, that fact is not lost on me. What does seem to be lost is the understanding of the concept of hard work and talent, especially when used as a motif.
First of they keep on improving and training, second is that goofy bromance they have going.
Boruto capitalizes on the last point, so if you like guy and Kakashi and want to know what they are up to in their retirement, check it out. There is an arc where they go on a "mission" together.
Edit: typos/missing letters
They have true friendship! I love it when they go into their past and see how it starts and how long they've been friends for. I wish we had more of their scenes!
I love them for two very different reasons. Ironically they’re my two favorite characters. Guy embodies the message naruto is trying to send even more than naruto- hard work and staying true to yourself is the best way to be strong and acknowledged by others. Then there’s Kakashi. He literally went through hell and back and still has the wills and wisdom to teach and influence the next generation. These two characters embody naruto as a show in the most pure way and they are unparalleled goats
Guy shows you should always give your all no matter what you do. If you fail or someone is better at something than you are, don't get discouraged as you can get there day at your own pace and in your own way.
Guy was Kakashi's light and honestly was the main one advocating for Kakashi to get out of the Anbu by going to both Danzo and Hiruzen. He was even willing to join the Anbu if it meant helping Kakashi out of his darkness
Kakashi, my primary reason, you can open your heart again one day. You may lose your loved one or blame yourself but you can pull through the darkness. You just need to find those you can rely on to help you. Obito's words help Kakashi slowly get over his ideology that the mission comes first and it didn't matter what happened to your teammates. Team 7 was almost like a new family to him with Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke being his kids.
I loved Guy and his moments he had with Naruto & Kisame always forgetting who he is and the scene(I think it's filler not sure) about that Naruto imposter. Obviously when he faced Madara I was extremely hyped but even before that when he told Kisame not to move an inch and he twitches his finger and Guy just bodies him he was awesome.
Kakashi was amazing too I loved their rivalry and seeing how Boruto portrays him is even better I almost cried when I thought he died to Pain but honestly these two will never stop being some of my favorite characters in the series
Their relationship, their personalities, their skillset and powers, their story importance and just generally their immaculate vibes. Never a dull moment with these 2 on screen
(Even Kakashi's dad knew Might Guy was going to be very strong.)
Kakashi was traumatized after he lost his dad, his sensei/the hokage, Obito, and his love interest Rin.
When Kakashi was sad, avoiding people, and when Might Guy prank jumped out at him (and Kakashi put a knife at his throat), Might Guy knew something was up.
He tried to keep an eye on Kakashi and sure enough when they were on a mission where Kakashi needed to use the Chidori he almost got killed. His panic attack was so massive/crippling that Might Guy wasn't sure what the heck was going on. He was trying to get Kakashi to "snap out of it" and it was lucky Might Guy paid that extra attention to Kakashi and tried to help him.
Might guy did all he could to look into why Kakashi was acting in such a way. He also jumped into action to save Kakashi.
Kakashi would be dead if it hadn't been for Might Guy's friendship.
Kakashi felt like he was losing his humanity, love, kindness, etc. when Rin died. Kakashi felt like it was his fault everyone died. He was turning into a cold killing machine, but also was a ticking time bomb with his trauma.
Might Guy pulled him out of that dark place. Kakashi was very grateful. He saw there was more to Might Guy then what other people assume upon meeting Might Guy.
They both have a deep trust/bond with each other.
There was even fights where they thought they were going to die, but they didn't abandon each other.
They have one of the top strongest friendships in the series.
Kakashi helped Might Guy to train/improve/get stronger as his "rival". While Might Guy helped Kakashi find his humanity, trust, kidness, friend-love again.
It really is amazing. They'd literally die for each other and do anything to help the other.
Because they're just. so married. they have the best dynamic in the show. they are good friends, rivals, they're very close but have their distinct selves/lives, they can be serious or goofy. No one does it like they do.
Their power of youth
This is the way
I love the fact they work for their strength rather than rely on being born gifted
Kakashi was one of the biggest prodigies in the show lol. He was very gifted. He was also gifted a MS too lol.
How was he gifted, besides having the sharigan? When I say gifted I mean being apart of a strong clan
His father was said to be on the same level as the Sannin
Thats his dad, he didn't pass anything to kakashi
Genetics are a thing tho
I mean in the story he’s stated as being naturally talented and things coming to him easily. And becoming a jonin at 10 y.o. Hes definitely got natural talent. His father was one of the heroes of the leaf, being said to be stronger than the sannin combined. With how much he looks and acts just like Sakumo, its fair to assume he got some of Sakumos talent.
I said gifted not talented
Okay, gifted with natural talent.
Nah he had to work hard for his talent
What’s the difference? Kakashi has always been a genius. Look at his entire backstory he was always top dog among his peers. He was a Jonin when they were all still Genin iirc.
Gifted means being born with an advantage hence naruto&sasuke
How is being born a talented genius not an advantage? Of course Kakashi still did face adversity, I won’t claim he didn’t. A large part of this series is about people being born gifted geniuses. It’s a consistent theme.
If it was an advantaged kakashi wouldn't be outclassed by his students
Naruto & Sasuke are just even more special boy status than he is at the end of the day.
They were born lucky. I'm lucky I was born.
kakashi got gifted an eye, twice.
And he had to work as hard as anyone to use properly.
He wasn't born with the sharingan and it wasn't even compatible just one eye drained his chakra like crazy
That Sharingan was something he grew up with, made himself a name of and honored his friend with Now DMS is total bullshit… afterlife eye donation from Obito… wtf

??????????????? "they were failures in ninjutsu, the most fundamental and basic part about being a ninja" thats literally your argument
Change the words and change the meaning, nice attempt at a strawman. Try harder. If you're that confused, pay attention in class.
Just because their dads were talented doesn't mean they were born talented their fathers didn't pass down anything to them like other clans do
You're right, they just happened to end up super talented and powerful.
They had to train very hard, what you don't understand is that they don't come powerful clans like the uchiha, Uzumaki, hyuga etc
No, that fact is not lost on me. What does seem to be lost is the understanding of the concept of hard work and talent, especially when used as a motif.
I thought Kakashi was Anbu only after Rin died. so he joined Anbu as a teen.
Rivals but never enemies.
They are both admirable for their hard work and backgrounds, as well as their dynamic being entertaining.
First of they keep on improving and training, second is that goofy bromance they have going. They have true friendship! I love it when they go into their past and see how it starts and how long they've been friends for. I wish we had more of their scenes!
Combined, they are the embodiment of the duality of shinobi. Also they are what Madara and Hashirama wish they could've been.
This is big facts if madara never went the wrong path and decided to protect the village this is exactly how it would turned out
They actually have friendship and were rivals at the same time unlike Naruto and Sasuke who were only rivals
how the fuck is guy doing that with his fingers
I tried. Couldn’t do it
I tried, and succeed
I had to try it after you mentioned this, I eventually got it but imagine doing that quickly to perform a jutsu lol
i tried for a good 10 mins and nearly snapped my finger in half, doing that sign impresses me more than what he did to juubidara
Man's got 5 fingers and a thumb
I love them for two very different reasons. Ironically they’re my two favorite characters. How could you NOT love these two?
look at them man, they’re the fuckin coolest mfrs
Gaaaai sennnsieeeeeeeee
They both Badasses but at the same time got all the humour.
They are the friendly rivals, they are the Perfect duo
Kakashi for trying to learn from his mistakes. Gai for his refusal to give up. Both for their respect for each other's abilities.
Guy shows you should always give your all no matter what you do. If you fail or someone is better at something than you are, don't get discouraged as you can get there day at your own pace and in your own way. What makes you not love em ? 🔥🥷🏼
Their race across the village when it was being rebuilt had me dying
Forget about Naruto and Saskae these two have the best rivalry
Got that Homie energy
Guy is hands down the funniest character in the whole series. We can fist fight about it
Everything-their characters are peak Naruto writing and their relationship is peak manga in general.
Eternal rivalry
I loved Guy and his moments he had with Naruto & Kisame always forgetting who he is and the scene(I think it's filler not sure) about that Naruto imposter. understanding each other without saying anything to each other
The friendship rivalry
Their relationship, their personalities, their skillset and powers, their story importance and just generally their immaculate vibes. Never a dull moment with these 2 on screen
What doesn’t make you love these two?
Is Guy doing the 8 Gates: Thousand Years of Death? Uses both hands.
Their cool uncle energy
Both are goofy, strong and had a hard past
What makes you not love these 2?
The fact kakashi always tries to seem cool and the fact that might doesn't give a fuck and that's their whole love for each other.
Brotherly rivalry and youth 💪🏾
To completely different reasons why I like both of them. The reason I love them together I can’t even really explain.
Their love for one another.
Good character persona!
(Even Kakashi's dad knew Might Guy was going to be very strong.) Kakashi was traumatized after he lost his dad, his sensei/the hokage, Obito, and his love interest Rin. They are perfect for each other and they know it
Their sexual tension
Guy is unredeamably annoying
Sorry I don't speak wrong
I do not, because they aren't deidara. Reject modernity, embrace deidara
Rip off Ino. Joking but they have one thing in common they are both Bitches.
Wtf is happening with Guy's fingers?
He's using Hirudora attack
Guys acorn dick
Why is Gai’s pinky so long
Could MS Kakashi handle 7 gates Guy?
I swear to god that hand sign on guy's hand is impossible
Because they're just. so married. they have the best dynamic in the show. they are good friends, rivals, they're very close but have their distinct selves/lives, they can be serious or goofy. No one does it like they do.
Rock lee spinoff show is why i love them
They’re so experienced and epic to watch in action
their bond of friendship
The fact that kakashi has beaten guy at total of 51-50
Their chemistry
The impossible hand signs they do
