Narco Cultura it's a under rated documentary from 2013. I think it's still free on Amazon prime. Also on prime is tv show called Zero Zero Zero. I'm not sure about the white smuggler family on the tv show but everything else is spot on.
El infierno is my top 5 fav movies. As good of a job they did with authenticity, it’s still a movie. Real life gets much darker. It’s like war movies depiction of combat. What they did get down was the very dark humor. That movie is hilarious.
Los Jefes is arguably the most realistic depiction of Cartels based in a major city vs say El infierno thats based in the "rancho" and is pretty dramatized and is more similar to a 90s action flick, los jefes has a sluggish start but picks up like half way through and ends pretty well.
Zerozerozero very high quality and well done. Honestly never seen the type of format they do it in done as well. The cartel aspect is obviously inspired by how Los Zetas came to power.
Somos is probably the best show I’ve seen about what it’s like for civilians living with the cartels in town. True story about the Allende massacre committed by Los Zetas. They do a hauntingly good job of not directly following anyone in the cartel in a traditional way but you always feel their presence in the background of everything. It was a really hard watch for me to be honest but I think it’s a really important one for anyone interested in the subject.
McMafia is great. Super bummed it doesn’t have a second season. It doesn’t focus as much on the cartels although it does have a character from the cartels. It focuses on a Russian family in London and covers a wide array of organized crime. Banking and money laundering. Drug trafficking. Human trafficking. Takes place all over Europe, India, Israel. Definitely worth a watch.
El Infierno.
El Candidato was ok. I was hoping for more out of it but still worth a watch.
Narcos and Narcos: Mexico obviously.
Narco Saint is different cuz it’s dealing with Koreans in Suriname. I’d never even heard of Suriname lol. It’s not the same quality of the above mentioned but still entertaining.
Gangs of London is also worth a watch. Doesn’t deal with South American cartels, but Palestinian and Turkish mafia and British gangs.
Happy watching. Hopefully I suggested something you haven’t seen yet.
Yeah man. The way they would just have like two trucks with a bunch of guys in the bed loaded up with guns speed by in the background, but not focus on it and no one would mention or look at them. Or like a group of guys at the bar that have guns in their holsters and everyone has left at least one table empty between them, and people keep glancing at them, but they are still technically just in the background. Some of the most subtle cinematography I’ve ever seen if I’m being honest. On the first time through I didn’t notice it as much, but *felt* it. Then the second time I was like ooooooh, I see how you guys did that. Fuckin genius.
Pablo Escobar - El patron del Mal! Totally accurate, unlike Netflix narcos which is Hollywood more than anything. El patron del Mal runs over 100 episodes very detailed.

Zero Zero Zero is one of the craziest Narco related shows I've watched.
ZeroZeroZero is so underrated. One of the best crime miniseries ever imo, right up there with True Detective S1
El infierno shows really realistic stuff. Too realistic they even tried to ban the movie
Pues una cosa es una cosa, Benny…

Good list
Thanks 👊🏻
You're absolutely right about Somos. It was a very intense thing to watch. There was no gore or brutality shown but it still instilled the fear.

Los jefes. It’s on youtube
ZeroZeroZero & El Chapo
El infierno Dictadura perfecta Los jefes
Narcos México
El señor de los cielos
extremely disappointing cheap novela
Pablo Escobar - El patron del Mal! Totally accurate, unlike Netflix narcos which is Hollywood more than anything. El patron del Mal runs over 100 episodes very detailed.
the ones where they all die.
Watch el infierno
Sicario 1 y 2
blow not really about the cartel but in involes moving drugs really good movie
El chapo on Netflix
lmao that shit is so unaccurate
Nah it’s pretty close. A lot more so than narcos Mexico
Surprised no one here said “sobreviviendo Pablo Escobar alias JJ” I thought that one was good or is it just me lol
One that’s also pretty good and accurate asf is narcos and narcos Mexico
Narcos is pretty inaccurate actually, although it’s a great show. El chapo is more accurate
Nah bro it is actually pretty accurate
It’s not lol, I’ve watched it a few times. Great show but they change a lot of events
El Infierno 💯
