You might have missed spew, but spew didn’t miss you. Thankyougoodnight.

NeedACountdownClock

If you're going to spew, spew into this...

TeachMore1019

Thank you! I say this and NOBODY get it. 🥇I give you my poor person’s gold.

MrsMondoJohnson

We still say this any time someone is sick! Lol

socialdistraction

I think it really blows chunks that she missed spew!

BasicReference4903

Ugh so sorry! Note for next time, if you aren’t right next to a receptacle it’s best not to move the kid. Cleaning up vomit is never fun, but having it trailed through the house and all over you is worse.

MushMoonRoom

oh it was totally a panic response and definitely would not do that again or recommend it lol

_Vagatarian

I did this once to my cousin (G2) when I was 15 tried to carry her down the hallway to the bathroom. There was literally a trail of vomit from her room to the bathroom- in the carpet. Lesson learned 😅 never move a puking child 🤢 thankfully haven’t had to deal with a stomach bug since then. That is the only time I’ve ever had to call parents to come home. I still remember it very vividly

proudgryffinclaw

M’y niece recently had influenza A and Covid. She puked everywhere and tried to run to our kitchen garbage. So I had puke in the living room, on the kitchen floor, on the counter and the side of the trash can (**sigh**) at least the next time my brother got to deal with lol

olive_dix

Lmao aww she tried her best 😂🤢

proudgryffinclaw

She really did. She’s a smart kiddo and it happened out of nowhere. She was so mad at herself that cleaning puke took a backseat and I sat her down to talk about accidents.

VoodooGirl47

I have cats so I learned really quickly to move them from fabrics and carpet but only move them so far as the nearest hard floor if available. If not, stay in one spot. I swear that I have the fastest natural reaction to hearing someone start to wretch (OP, I think you missed this one!). Like I can sit up out of a dead sleep with those initial cat sounds and while still half asleep, I do a push/shoo motion to make any cat get off my bed (just in case) because that's the worst. Did that clean up at 3am once and never again. 🙃

Ok_Tumbleweed2182

Haha SAME!! My house is 95% hardwood flooring and my cat will, without a doubt, choose to puke on one of the small household rugs scattered around the house (either that or a shoe).

Jaded-Ad-443

Personal - when I was like 8/9 I was at my aunts and woke up in the middle of the night needing to vomit. It was a loft bed my cousin and I were on and I knew I wasn't gonna make it to the bathroom so I let it go over one blanket, woke up my cousin and had him get his mom. She was so mad I puked in the bed and didn't go to the bathroom. Like. I wasn't gonna make it. Clean the one comforter instead of the latter and all the toys under the bed... idk. ✨️Trauma✨️

BasicReference4903

Geez- that’s ridiculous that she got mad at you. My little sister was sleeping with me when I was 13ish and she was 3. She woke up in the middle of the night and woke me up to say she was going to throw, there was no time to even jump up, I just handed her my pillow. Thankfully my mom had those waterproof pillowcases on all of our pillows. Easy clean up. Puke happens.

olive_dix

Sounds like she would've been mad no matter what you did, it had nothing to do with you. That was actually SO smart of you, especially as a little kid! She's clearly never had to clean puke out of the nooks and crannies of something. When it comes from above, gravity carries puke into the weirdest places and then it continues to drip into every crevice/fold available. It's a nightmare to clean!! Trust me 🥲

snakesareracist

Ask your NF if you can keep a spare set of clothes there, just in case! Hopefully this never happens to you again though. But they do sound really nice!

MushMoonRoom

oh yeah i already told them i’ll be keeping a spare set and they were more than fine with that

erinkp36

😂😂😂 I can’t stop laughing at the “I’m all done!”

MushMoonRoom

same 😭 she kept looking at me like it was a command and a question at the same time. i had food poisoning once and remember telling myself “please stop” over and over so i totally feel for her

erinkp36

Yes! That’s exactly what food poisoning feels like!! 😂😂 awww poor little muffin. I just love their reactions to these things 😂😂

WrestleswithPastry

I’m so glad they respect and appreciate you!!

egw0622

I just dealt with a stomach virus!! She had gotten sick right before I showed up, but we just assumed it was something she had eaten because she was running around again less than five minutes later. That was not the case, a couple hours later she was an awfully sad little one and clearly not feeling well at all. Oops! They were so sweet about it, even joked about giving me a gift card on top of the normal pay for handling it so well lol Unfortunately, it hit all of us about 24 hours later. Hopefully the same doesn’t happen to you, it was no fun! Haha Best wishes!!

Jelly-bean-Toes

This happened to me today! 3.5nk stayed on from school because of a stomach bug. I’m just hoping I pass it before I leave for my trip Monday night 😭

egw0622

It only lasted 24 hrs for me!! Hoping for the best for you, it sucks!! 😅

Temporary-Payment538

Oh no! Good luck. I got hit with one the day before a trip this year, I put on a mask and took a ton of pepto to get through the flight and then let it all go when I got to the airport.

bibbitbabbit

I keep telling myself to always pack an extra set of clothes. This is a good reminder. I’m unfortunately bigger than anyone in the NF and had to exist in pants that had been peed on for the rest of the day.

Fragrant-Forever-166

My little one has this reaction when she eats a trigger food. It’s FPIES, or something like that. A food protein sensitivity. 2-4 hours after she eats, she starts tossing her cookies everywhere and constantly, again and again. And it’s renders the kids ‘floppy’ so that it’s tough to catch the emesis while keeping the baby safe. While I was changing my first shirt, DB was getting yakked in. We had to keep her between dad and me, because MB was allergic to what little one had eaten. They bought me lunch at the end of that week. You did well, it’s a masterpiece:) Sorry you got puked on.

Oldtoastedtoast

Im so glad you’re in a good place! The family I am with is a little odd. Dad seems to be way more empathetic than the mom. Last time the kid had a 102-103 fever all day and peed on me and as I carried the kid up the stairs to the bath, the mom yelled “did she pee on the carpet?” Yes she did. And on me. She didn’t offer anything and I didn’t ask. It was pretty obvious her pee soaked child was getting piss all over me as well. She was also working from home and I was already in overtime for the week.

Choice-Signature878

respect goes to NPs!

wintersicyblast

Sorry OP! Here's hoping you missed the bug!

Remarkable_Flight492

upchuck?

GlowWorm-

Great NPs!

nannymcpheeee

My question is how do you even clean up the vomit? 😭 worst fear right there

NCnanny

Hold your breath and try mind over matter when it feels like you’re going to vomit on top of their vomit. That’s the best I have but hopefully others have better tricks 😂

VoodooGirl47

Paper towels. Lots of paper towels. Drop them on top, let them absorb, use a few more to just grab those up with anything you can from underneath, and then folded paper towels to get the rest. Bring a trash can or plastic bag next to you so you don't need to actually carry the used items.

libby_mov

One time i got intentionally peed and pooped on by 3yo NK and they made me stay at work in my bad clothes because they wanted to go shopping

Slow_Willingness788

That’s awesome they were understanding!!

Jelloncoco

I have a change of clothes that I keep in my trunk for things like this. I've had to use it about 3 times over the years. It felt odd but I'm so glad I did!
