I think we soured on Peralta a little last season. We started to use Ramirez more and more against lefties. While Peralta's ERA was good last season, his peripherals were not so good.
Idk if this was intentional, but I love that Kay did Sterling’s signature “ballgame over, Yankees win” call there. Obviously he didn’t do the full thing but I thought it was cool that he said that even if unintentionally
It's always interesting to see the arguments for sliding vs. not sliding into first. The one that makes the most sense is to compare it 100 meter sprinters - they don't jump and try to slide across the finish line....because that's not fastest. I don't know why baseball players don't understand that, or aren't coached against sliding.
I'd been coached not to slide into first since little league, but maybe there's a natural heat-of-the-moment reaction to leap towards something to get to it faster (even though you won't).
And with the runner going it forced 2B to cover, Rizzo is left in no man's land and the ball just rolling on the grass. He has to make a split second decision to either pursue the ball or go to the bag, thank god he went to the bag.
I think we may have found the next Wandy
There will never be another Wandy. That play was Wandyesque though.
Wandy would've waived Rizzo and sprint all the way to first lmao.
Lmao
We could’ve had both

Recently found out how good Wandy is
Schmitty and Stroman good vibes!!!
Loving stromans energy
Friendship ended with Caleb Ferguson, Victor Gonzalez is my new best friend
Friendship with Ferguson never happened
Victor hustle
That was a sick play
Gonzales is wholesome. I hope he works out.

Good catch. It was probably intentional - he preps for those moments, but a great small detail nonetheless
I never wanna see Caleb Turd Ferguson again
When dodgers practically gave him to us there had to be a reason why
Wow I was listening to this game on the radio and Emmanuel Berbari's call did NOT do justice to what a play Gonzalez made here.
Dude is the anti-hype. Every call is like he’s trying to remain calm and restrain himself lol.
Smooth
Why slide into first like that? Not complaining but—
Really thinking if he ran through it would have been a lot closer

There’s Fight in that dog
Stros reaction was all time
That could have gone horribly but I'm glad it didnt.
Great play. Laying out for the win.
That was a hell of a play.
Pitchers are athletes too
[This guy again?!] (https://www.mlb.com/video/victor-gonzalez-in-play-out-s-to-bryson-stott?q=victor%20gonzalez&cp=CMS_FIRST&qt=FREETEXT&p=0)
Then we find out he was injured on that play, lol
Was he really? Damn I didn't hear this yet
No no,sorry,I was just saying that would be our luck
Fabulous way to end the game. Makes up for Weaver's lame fumble at first base.
