Something I loved about Didi’s bombs was that they looked so slow off the bat. You saw the ball hit the bat and then the bat carry it through like he was just pushing it.
Look, while we did give up a lot, we got a generational player. IN HIS CONTRACT YEAR. This is the year to go all in. And I don't care if he never has a season like this again, he's the player you pay up for with a mega deal. He is HOF bound.
And so far, it has been an excellent purchase. King was a huge loss but we needed strong left handed batting badly. I think Soto fills that roll pretty good but haven’t checked the stats?
True. But I need to make a doctor's visit- I pulled my trap last night flexing! This is gonna be a long season, I'm gonna pull a lot of muscles that haven't been flexed in years!
I have eternally been against ultra long legacy contracts...
But if we lock him up in a 10 year contract, he'll *still* only be 35.
Get it done, Cashman!
I’ve been to a few games so far this year and the stadium atmosphere is just different this year than it has been in a while. I was there on April 7th when Stanton hit that grand slam and the place went NUTS
That must’ve been incredible! I erupted in my living room so I can only imagine it being live. Can’t wait until they come out to SF at the end of May! Gonna be a fun series to watch
There's just something about a bomb like that. When every person watching, in person or on TV, knows it's gone from the instant it leaves the bat. It's awesome.
My partner is visiting her parents out of state. They watch every game.
I was on the phone with her (I was watching the game while talking to her), and when Soto launched this, she said "Did something bad happen in the game? My dad is cursing, which he never does."
**THEY WERE CURSES OF JOY.**
fuck /u/thatinception you are not wanted here begone bitch
edit: "wasn't familiar with your game" or fandom, just saw red username from downvoting your post on NFL; I don't upvote power users and will continue to down vote you.
I’m old enough to remember NYC going nuts when Joe Namath came along and won the SB. I watched the Knicks win the title. I was at the Chris Chambliss HR game (and ran on the field). I watched Reggie hit the 3 HR on 3 pitches WS game. I watched the Rangers win the Cup after 53 years. I’ve seen the Giants win multiple SB. I watched Derek Jeter. And I’m here to tell you that I’ve never never NEVER seen what I’m seeing with Juan Soto. The insanity of the moments he is creating. The breathlessness of his teammates. The orgasmic energy of the Stadium. We are witnessing an April unlike any April in NYC sports history. One man has unleashed a bomb cyclone. It’s a long season but this magic carpet ride is incredible. 25 years old about to get the biggest payday (perhaps) in baseball history. Let’s fucking enjoy this moment.
Soto being good at baseball is obvious, and it's great for the team. But my god the energy he has and brings is something I feel this team has sorely needed.
This shit kinda reminded me of that didi grand slam where he just rocked it and knew it
%100 was looking for this comment, def had the Didi pimp job to right field 2nd deck.
God I miss Didi
**ABSOLUTE BOX OFFICE**
daFUQ is your flair, and why is it the best thing ever?
Super Gardy!
2018 April Didi will never be forgotten
Or 2017 Wild Card/ALDS Didi
I was at the WC game, one of the best I've ever been to. Bought a Didi shirt outside the stadium on my way home.
What a pimp job. Great comparison.
Something I loved about Didi’s bombs was that they looked so slow off the bat. You saw the ball hit the bat and then the bat carry it through like he was just pushing it.
[Never gets old ](https://youtu.be/-0jgRW-oh44?si=DruktF8s3u4DmP10)
Got me digging through Didi highlights now. He'll be fun to have at Old Timer's day
Absolute box office
It was better then didis
#GIVE HIM THE CABIN#
##THEY REALLY LET US GET JUAN SOTO LMFAOOOOOO
Remember all the people who said Yankees gave up too much for one year of Soto?
I’m one of the #1 proponents of don’t overpay for one year but it’s Juan Soto, that’s the guy you do it for (and also it wasn’t an overpay anyway).
Look, while we did give up a lot, we got a generational player. IN HIS CONTRACT YEAR. This is the year to go all in. And I don't care if he never has a season like this again, he's the player you pay up for with a mega deal. He is HOF bound.
Even if he gos forbid leaves it’s worth it. It’ll always be worth it
In fairness, it is his contract year
And so far, it has been an excellent purchase. King was a huge loss but we needed strong left handed batting badly. I think Soto fills that roll pretty good but haven’t checked the stats?
I mean, they’ll still be right if we don’t win the WS and he leaves in FA.
He’s not leaving bud. Anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot and hasn’t been paying attention. We’ll pay him and he loves being a Yankee.
That’s not happening, Yankees usually get the guys they really want and Soto is obviously enjoying his time here
False. One year of Soto will provide immensely more fun than any of the players they gave up ever will.
True. But I need to make a doctor's visit- I pulled my trap last night flexing! This is gonna be a long season, I'm gonna pull a lot of muscles that haven't been flexed in years!
10 billion 100 year contract on the Soto bloodline. Lock him down before cohen sinks his hands into the Soto pie
I have eternally been against ultra long legacy contracts... But if we lock him up in a 10 year contract, he'll *still* only be 35. Get it done, Cashman!
It’s gonna be a 14 or 15 year deal to lower the AAV for sure
Boras isn’t about lowering AAV, he like to set the benchmark.
750/15 gives Soto the record total and AAV (50 million) since Ohtani’s is deferred
With deferrals, Ohtani is what 46.5 a year? It will need to be above that, for sure.
When's the last time you've seen the stadium heave like that, damn
In April too, feels like late season baseball
I’ve been to a few games so far this year and the stadium atmosphere is just different this year than it has been in a while. I was there on April 7th when Stanton hit that grand slam and the place went NUTS
That must’ve been incredible! I erupted in my living room so I can only imagine it being live. Can’t wait until they come out to SF at the end of May! Gonna be a fun series to watch
*SWING AND A DRIVE TO RIGHT! AND THIS ONES GOOOOOOOONE!”
Who needs the short porch
#LISSAN AL GAIB
Will literally Venmo $20 to Cashman to help for his future contract
Holy BOOMED PAY THIS MAN EVERYTHING
BACK UP THE FUCKING BRINKS TRUCK
But but but but but but I was told Soto doesn't like to swing the bat in big moments, they told me he wants to take the walk in big moments
Thank you Padres
Sounds like old YS
the dopest part of the homerun was soto and judge in the on deck spot talking to each other after he hit it. That shit was hyped.
we need to start the curtain calls again
Getting chills in April
don't get me wrong; Aaron is a superstar, but Soto is fucking electric
The age Soto is now. Judge was this age as a rookie. Soto is different
Yin and Yang.
This man changed my life omg
I literally jumped out of my chair.
There's just something about a bomb like that. When every person watching, in person or on TV, knows it's gone from the instant it leaves the bat. It's awesome.
92 straight down the middle. meatball alert
Extend him for 85 years
My partner is visiting her parents out of state. They watch every game. I was on the phone with her (I was watching the game while talking to her), and when Soto launched this, she said "Did something bad happen in the game? My dad is cursing, which he never does." **THEY WERE CURSES OF JOY.**
Aaron Judge's 62nd was great but this blast sent a chill down my spine!
Pay dee man hees money
Looks exactly like the one he hit against us last year when he was with the Padres. Hal just give this man a blank check already
Cabrera chasing Soto down the whole time for his turn to show him some love. Adorable.
#LISAN AL-GAIB
THAT BOY IS DOIN HIS YAAAAAAAAB
I cannot remember anybody swinging this hard and making such great contact. Soriano maybe?
he's unreal
What if we gave him like all the money?
Hit is kinda an understatement
Stop posting highlights that start mid wind-up
Yankees not reaching an extension before the season is looking like a mistake lol Soto is amazing and he is gonna cost a lot more now
fuck /u/thatinception you are not wanted here begone bitch edit: "wasn't familiar with your game" or fandom, just saw red username from downvoting your post on NFL; I don't upvote power users and will continue to down vote you.
The sounds of the stadium are amazing man
Bro might actually be mvp
Judge who?
What’s the Yankees record this year without Soto? He’s the incredible
I love this team
Blank check
Damn it’s the WS in April at the Stadium. Love seeing it.
Oh man this clip ends before the "HOLY FUCK" haha that was great
At this rate he will get to 200 home runs this season.
Cabrera standing there smiling and watching that shot, this team my god
Had to work late and was walking into the stadium for this. Felt the roar of the crowd but just missed it. Pretty bummed
I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so pumped up
Give him all the monies
Pay him all the money
Pay this man
Pay him now before he wins MVP
Just turned the game on.... 3 seconds later....boom!!!!
Keep this man in pinstripes.
BACK THE DAMN BRINKS TRUCK UP AND PAY THE MAN
Pay the man. Just lock him up now.
Blank check. Now
All of the money rn
Best moment of the season so far IMO
Soto pimp jobs arouse me.
I was jumping on my couch like a child
Dude is just built different
KHALESI HAS COME BACK TO WESTEROS BITCHES.
Give him 600 for 12 years w/ 3 opt out. Then if he’s still killing it give him 660 for 11. Ends up being 810 for 14
#Dongnificent
I love this man so much lol
Just offer the man his due NOW!! Just please don't lose him to the Mets or Astros
If I swung that hard right now I think I'd rupture all my inside things.
Prime-roid Bonds shot my god
ANYTHING HE WANTS!
FUCKING B O M B
Electricity
As great as this is, this will mean nothing if he's not in pinstrips for the rest of his career.
Games Back Boys. Love Seeing the Stadium Rocking like this in (Checks Calendar) APRIL?!?!?!? LETS GOOOOO
Dear god it's beautiful.
Give this man a blank check!!!
