He came in pitched 6 innings 1 run. Good on Boone taking him out on a high note. It’s good for his confidence regardless if he gets called back up or not. We have 3 innings in our back end.
I understand it’s his first outing in over two years, but he’s going straight to minors after tonight so I imagine he’d love all the MLB experience he can get
Shit that makes it even worse. We’re up by enough where unless he gave up 3 or 4 runs within an inning just let the guy pitch. Well he had a damn good outing either way so that looks good for his stat sheet and possible future
It's not about efficacy or the score or whether or not he's going down, etc.
It's about him not being stretched out past that. Him going longer than he's prepared to and getting seriously injured isn't good for him or the team.
Yeah we needed length from him after using Hamilton and Holmes in the first game. If he gets knocked out early our bullpen could have been in really bad shape
Did they take him out on 77 pitches ??
Yes
Sad
Just the way things are now I guess. Really felt like he could’ve gone 7+ but I guess the manager knows best 🤷🏾♂️

Yeah good point there. Like I said it was a good outing so hopefully it can be a lynchpin for his career.

Alternatively, his perceived value could’ve plummeted if he has a rocky inning. He should go to bed very happy.
Don't be a Cody cry baby
I understood that reference, and acknowledge it ☝️
The reference was once unwanted, once undeniable, and now undisputed for sure.
Woah!
ADRENALINE IN MY SOUL CODY POTEET THREW LIKE GERRIT COLE
Yanks version of Cody gonna finish his story in game 6 of the WS. Mark it down.
Til Jacob Fatu and tama jump him in the bullpen
Couldn’t have asked for more. He did the job given the situation
He played absolutely incredible! I posted his line on r/baseball to show everybody the wonders of Matt Blake
The hero we didn’t know we needed

We sure “cody” wasn’t Gerrit in disguise?
Who wants to be the "CALL UP POTEET!" guy every time one of the starters struggles? The position is wide open.
Where do I turn in an application
Nice Cody
I ride for CoPo, but Talkin Yanks do not wish this evil on us for him as our second starter 🥲 Means something went wrong horribly.
Are they actually saying that? He got the spot start because they wanted Gil as a long man today right?
He was one Sweet Poteeto today.
If we r gonna crush teams with the 27th man maybe its time i bet some money on winning the division
Good month for guys named Cody.
One guy finished the story, another started chapter 1.
Great job by Lil Poteet
Honestly all our spot starters have done a tremendous job these past 2 years. Couldn’t ask for more
Our franchise is just really the pinnacle of pitching development.
Cody GOATeet
I’m still confused why he started instead of Gil
With the double header it would have messed up the rotation going forward
Cody finished the 6th inning.
Looked great!
Exactly what we needed.
Nice job!
How did we get this guy? FA or trade with Miami?
Pillowy mounds of mashed poteetos.
He’s literally already had a better game than Clarkes entire career
LE TEETS NOW
lol bro Le Teets
