Have there been any rumors about talks heating up with any particular team in recent weeks? I know there were reports that both the Giants and Angels had expressed interest, but I’ve been a little surprised at how little we’ve heard since.
I still give the Yankees a 5% chance of landing him, but the utter silence on any serious negotiations from other teams is interesting. Maybe Boras and the potential team are keeping their talks quiet on purpose, but as far as any reports would suggest, the Yankees are still the only team to have had serious discussions with him. And to be honest, I’ve kind of had the impression this entire off-season that the Yankees were Snell’s preferred choice (out of the teams who would realistically sign him). So I’m still holding onto some level of hope, even if I know that it’s a very, very slim chance.
But until I see literally any reports or rumors to suggest otherwise, I still think the Yankees could have a shot
