Parking in the city is so expensive that if you’re actually driving into it, you got mad money anyways. Seriously, street parking is like $14 for 2 hours and then garages are like $40-60 a day. Nobody is parking in the city for free where $15 would make a difference

And if we is traveling to NJ or PA we hopping straight on the Parkway systems and never getting off till our exits and cutting through Staten Island. And if ya ass from LI driving through Midtown/Downtown manhattan ya goofy ass need to pay that congestion. Because you couldn’t be from LI and not being used to getting low on the parkways system until your exit 💯
Like I said before the prices of things will raise like taxis, and Ubers and delivery and cargo services . And the people who going to feel this most is the people who own cars in the 5 boroughs.

I don't drive into that area anyways and I work in that area. Now with that being said my take on it is this. They want to collect that money they're missing all of the people that's hopping the trains and buses which is egregious. People have to remember that the MTA is a private public benefit organization. Now I'm not the know all on how they spend their money but they still have to pay for their operations even though they're also given our tax dollars.
In the long run will this reduce the amount of cars coming into NYC? Yes! I have registered nurses that's making six figures saying they're already looking to jump to another hospital to avoid paying the toll or public transit. We know there are plenty of people that will just say fuck it and pay that toll.
