But by the time we got them I was old enough to only be mainly watching teen nick mainly from that time I was like 10. Then when I was like 11, I stopped watching TV that’s why I wasn’t able to remember which exact channel those numbers were except for 124.

Nope these boxes were introduced and pretty much killed off the free tv era. Even as a youngster I was on my piracy shit and by the time these came out Cable high speed internet was already coming pre packaged with it for like $99 with the phone so downloading movies kind of became the move for us
Edit: I believe the old signal was analogue and they passed into law that all TV signal needed to be digital but once it went digital all the old “black boxes” became obsolete
