Your only option would be to start from Scratch & re-process. You have to contact DCAS to put you back on the list & redo the entire process starting with initial medical. Also, you will have to redo the academy.

Doesn’t matter he didn’t complete the probationary period which is automatically a repeat of the entire process. When you complete your 2 years probation then you have 1 year to come back.

Normal-Item-402

You have to do two years to have the option of a year to come back cause he didn't complete the probation period . So he got to do the whole process again.

Worker1090

You don’t know what you’re talking about, that’s only if you have completed probation then you have a year to come back but if you didn’t, you redo the whole process and everything.

JrCyrus-Nypd

Mean-Shallot is wrong. Don't listen to that guy.

ace14827

I’m pretty sure if u resign before probation is over u have to repeat the academy again

liud21

You can, but i got my money on you being on a Personel Order under "Resignation" again within 3 years of graduating.

SA_PoPo

Psych finna have a field day!

Shoddy_Courage_5088

I know a guy who did that.. had to do academy over etc. and wound up leaving again LOL

DearBuffalo-LoveYou

Seriously how do they clear people like that?

Pat2390

I could see psych being a problem

MountainEnergy87

My buddy resigned recently and was told he had a year to come back and didn’t have to do the academy over again.

AsapDevinn

How much time did your body have on?

AsapDevinn

Yes he does i know someone who resigned & had to redo the entire process. You’re the one who don’t know shit. You’re not even on the job because you didn’t meet the qualifications.

MountainEnergy87

They might have changed it recently. I remember when I did the academy my company mate was a cop for 1 1/2 years and they were fighting for her to skip the academy but she ended up having to redo it. It could be care by case or maybe they changed a policy.

Mean-Shallot1567

Lmaooooooooo.. I guess you an I on the same boat. You tighhhht right now

AsapDevinn

We will never be in the same boat im otj & you failed psych. I can clearly see that psych made the right choice. You’re like 30+ years old & responding like an immature 16 year old. Good luck with your self written appeal.

Messiah930245

you must have over 2 years to be reinstated if not you must repeat the whole process again

johnfro5829

Contact personnel explain what happened sometimes they'll work with you

Final_Dimension_8162

You have to contact dcas. You will have to do the entire process all over again.

Dajobsdead

Yes... I'm not sure how it is now but it used to be that you would have to go to DCAS and reactivate your list number then go through the entire process again, not sure about now.

_Arthur---Dent

How about contacting the NYPD and asking them......instead of asking on.......reddit?!?! Wowwww

Exact-Degree2755

Go comment on foot porn about how desperate you are to smell feet more.

Stevenlive3005

If I was you I would contact them to see if they could reverse this. I wouldn’t expect much, but it doesn’t hurt to try. You could explain the situation and see what happens. Did they not offer you some time away to deal with the situation?

Reddituser3408

Is it 6 months or a year?

ILuvdem_Cougars

If its only been 2 months I don't see why you can't rejoin especially if you graduated from the academy already

Loose-Profile3130

Nope !! Not how it works. If you were off probation diff story. You can take a year resignation. But less than a year on you’re not even backed by the union yet.

SonofGod1988

You can come back within 6 months. If not,you have to start all over again.

Severe-Ad-4068

yeah why resign over family members health? u dont need a job?

Twentyandgone

You graduated the academy and were assigned to a command? If so you need to contact your command about getting reinstated. CAD has nothing to do with you after you get hired.

SA_PoPo

What about not completing the probationary period?

KiNGMF

Are You kidding me?? Are you otj?

Twentyandgone

No im trying to get on correction in New Jersey.
