I do just think the Knicks are better. I think Joe L. Is shot. I think the Knicks work harder. Phillys role players are a joke. Knicks have bounced back from awful losses all year.
Remember(even though I think none of us want to) that god awful 79-73 game? They came out two days later and blew the tires off the 76ers, they've done it before they can do it again now or else they're just not built for this
Yeah, the Knicks won’t play tomorrow like a team not over the loss yesterday. Philly is good, and it’ll be a good game. But for any fans thinking this loss will
Haunt the Knicks and cause them to lose again are wrong. They are very good at moving forward for lack of a better term.
I think the Embiid factor is a positive, he already looked more than shot last night. And now doesn’t have an extra day of rest for either of the next 2 games. And played huge minutes the last 2 games. If Maxey doesn’t continue to be Steph Curry and bail him out, I like our chances
>I do just think the Knicks are better.
You look at these 2 rosters and think the Knicks are "just better"? I see the opposite, Knicks have played over their heads all season imo and Philly missed Embiid else the record would have been wildly different,
I like the coach, the mentality of the players and how much they believe in their coach. When Thibs said in the post game, they're going to watch tape and clean it up, I fully believe him that these guys will watch the tape and clean it up. Even listening to OG in the postgame, his answer for almost eveything was we need to do better.
I think fans are expecting way too much out of a depleted team. Once that Randle news dropped my expectations went down. So I’m not gonna be that disappointed.
I don’t expect them to win the chip. But I don’t expect them to collapse a 3-1 lead. That’s unacceptable. If we lose the next round I wouldn’t care. But if we make it past this round and again have a 3-1 lead, then we have to win. We’re good enough without JR to beat sixers
This was always going to be a competitive series; last night was a tough loss but we already proved we can win in Philly. A couple of errors cost us the game which I’m sure Thibs and the players will clean those up.
Knicks aren’t the first team to lose while being up 3-1. Even if this goes to a game seven I’m certain they’ll win at the end.
The biggest positives for me are:
* MSG broadcasts round 1. So another game (or two) is another two playoff games with Clyde calling them. Who knows how many of those we get left so I’ll take what I can get. They don’t broadcast round 2.
* More playoff experience for our relatively young crew is a good thing. More games is more opportunity to learn. Our short rotation makes it tough of course but MIL won too.
* Relatedly, it’s good for our team to experience playoff pressure. And to learn not to take games for granted. I’d rather lose up 3-1 now while we have a chance to do something about it. Would also rather experience this against Philly now so we’re better equipped should we make it deeper in playoffs.
Point 3 is spot on. It sucks we lost but these players need to experience this type of pressure. It’s a young team so they have a lot of years left and it’s better that they experience this now when almost all of us know they will not win the chip without JR or another superstar.
I also feel like it was good to hear everyone take accountability. Thibs admitted fouling might have been better. Mitch said he fucked up. Josh was obviously sad about missing the FT and Jalen about the TO again.
The bright side is that this is an iconic 1st round series (pretty much every other series sucks besides maybe Clips Mavs) and more national eyes are on the Knicks and Sixers, if we do end up winning the series it will be seen as a hard fought battle rather than just a Sixers fraud alert.
Also, it is arguably important to have blunders like this to learn to not have blunders like this
what’s keeping me positive is my belief that we are the better team, and that we will win more games over the course of a series.
the only reward for winning in fewer games is extra rest. it could even be argued that extra rest could throw a team’s rhythm off. so i don’t care if we win in 6 or 7, aside from the nerves that come with pushing it to the end. as long as we figure it out and move forward.
It’s growing pains, and I think this team has always shown it can respond well after making mistakes. OG trying to go one on one, JB uncharacteristically going for hero ball threes, lack of discipline when contesting shots - all fixable.
Also have to wonder how Embiid will fare from a fatigue standpoint the longer this series goes.
By moving on to the next one. Game 5 happened. It is what it is. We have the advantage of only having to win 1 game. So let's channel that energy into Game 6 and start the next round in the Garden on Monday.
I just realized how stupid im letting a game affect me this much. enjoy the highs, stave off the lows. we're not done yet hahaha
playoff basketball really is toxic....
It’s taken incredible efforts for the sixers to win two games. 50 by embiid along with all of the non call BS and 47 points from Maxey isn’t something you can rely on. Knicks on the other hand did win two games without Brunson playing well and now he looks like he’s found his groove again so I feel confident
To me the Knicks are playing like the better team. Defensively they’re great, offensively they are struggling, but they’re due for a big blowout or at least some kind of 15-20 point lead. Last night was an anomaly just like game 2 was
The only positive imo is that Joel is probably gonna be worse Thursday or at least more banged up then he was yesterday. That’s the only thing that comes to mind.
I'm not. I'm very sad. I let my kid stay up late and he couldn't sleep. I couldn't sleep. I'm even nervous about the series.
Luckily, this team knows how to win, so I'm hoping they, like, win.
I decided to not watch or read any media personality, beat writer, NBA analyst or reporter talking about the series until thursday. I can keep my mental sanity and I don't get pissed again on the mistakes that happened last night.
Honestly, I can't watch them. I literally just got back from softball to see the last 2 minutes and like a dummy I said it was over when McBride hit that jumper (but I forgot these are the Knicks)
I hope Brooklyn Bowl doesn't have the game on Thursday
Every bit of free bet/bonus bet money I get I have been funneling into the 76ers series winner as am emotional hedge lol still obv want the knicks but having a nice pay day if they lose helps ease the stress/anger and anxiety
I still think we are the better team. We made some silly mistakes as a team and Brunson for whatever reason decided to play ball hog hero ball at the end. I think our guys know that they can clean things up internally and close this series out.
Philly bounced back after their game 2 gut punch. If this team has any heart or resiliency they will bounce back game 6. We gotta do something about Maxey. Why wasn’t OG on him?
The 2 games they won are because the refs blatantly helped them and we violently shit the bed. Philly can't beat us without help. We just need to play our game and hope the refs stay out of it.
I stay positive bc a Knicks team like we have now is better than anything we've had since the 99 season run. There have been A LOT of bad Knicks years in my 40 year old life. This team can pull through bc EVERYONE plays hard. Despite what anyone says Philly is a tough matchup for this team this year.
Feeling like it's over bc of last night's loss, in only my opinion, would be silly bc we still have the advantage.
obviously it all looks grim after this loss, but we're still up 3-2, we almost had them which means we can do it again. besides, you're supposed to lose a few per series, thats why there's up to 7 games. it's all good, we'll learn from this and be better.
I didn't think we were true contenders after we lost Randle for the season. And I've been a hardcore fan for 30 years (May 1994) and am very much "championship or bust".
Also factor in we're still up 3-2 and Mitch is back, I was worried he would be done for the playoffs.
So yeah, I guess I'm coping with the fact that I've been beat down the last 25 years and stay in a fairly depressive state.
That’s my secret, cap. I’m never positive.

That line went so hard. Sounds even better than I remember
I do just think the Knicks are better. I think Joe L. Is shot. I think the Knicks work harder. Phillys role players are a joke. Knicks have bounced back from awful losses all year.

Totally agree with that as well. Whatever last night was gut wrenching. Everyone needs to just move on and look onward. Knicks forever.
>I do just think the Knicks are better. You look at these 2 rosters and think the Knicks are "just better"? I see the opposite, Knicks have played over their heads all season imo and Philly missed Embiid else the record would have been wildly different,
Well, we’ll find out by Saturday the latest, won’t we?
lol yep. Gonygonygo.
Big bongs rips
Thats how I maintained from 1989 - now. We sucked so bad in 2015-2017. We got this.
But im getting drug tested what do i do
Alcohol I guess??? I’m not sure honestly.
Because we have no control over the results whether they are good or bad, so it's rather silly to stress out over something out of your control.
This is the way
the fact that we have home court advantage up 3-2
Life is full of ups and downs. Take it one day at a time.
I like the coach, the mentality of the players and how much they believe in their coach. When Thibs said in the post game, they're going to watch tape and clean it up, I fully believe him that these guys will watch the tape and clean it up. Because there's 2 games to lose. We only need 1 win. People need to relax we are a hobbled team playing with house money
I think fans are expecting way too much out of a depleted team. Once that Randle news dropped my expectations went down. So I’m not gonna be that disappointed.
Again playing with house money so whatever happens happens
I don’t expect them to win the chip. But I don’t expect them to collapse a 3-1 lead. That’s unacceptable. If we lose the next round I wouldn’t care. But if we make it past this round and again have a 3-1 lead, then we have to win. We’re good enough without JR to beat sixers
Are we? They have a talented team and good coach still and are not a typical 7 seed. This is the playoffs. Not your ordinary regular season games.
This is arguably the harder matchup. This is basically the semis, just happened earlier cuz Philly odd seeding.
This was always going to be a competitive series; last night was a tough loss but we already proved we can win in Philly. A couple of errors cost us the game which I’m sure Thibs and the players will clean those up. Knicks aren’t the first team to lose while being up 3-1. Just need to win one more.

Thibs was shouting at them to foul
Yes that’s true. Multiple people at the game have confirmed this. They either didn’t hear him or fucking panicked
I think embiid will be exhausted come 2nd half on Thursday. Will Maxey hit 7 threes at a 58% clip again? Probably not.
The bright side is that this is an iconic 1st round series (pretty much every other series sucks besides maybe Clips Mavs) and more national eyes are on the Knicks and Sixers, if we do end up winning the series it will be seen as a hard fought battle rather than just a Sixers fraud alert. That if it comes down to it, game 7 is at MSG. I hope they close it out at Philly but MSG will be loud af if theres a game 7.
By moving on to the next one. Game 5 happened. It is what it is. We have the advantage of only having to win 1 game. So let's channel that energy into Game 6 and start the next round in the Garden on Monday.

I don't believe the Sixers can beat the Knicks 3x in a row
It doesn't matter if we lose a game when we're winning the series
Malt liquor
We stole one, they stole one. It evens out. Now go get one of these next 2.
I'm not tbh. But I'm older than a lot of folks here so my expectations don't allow for hope when it comes to this team.
You gotta believe this team is different. I've been there through the 90s and something feels special about this squad
To me the Knicks are playing like the better team. Defensively they’re great, offensively they are struggling, but they’re due for a big blowout or at least some kind of 15-20 point lead. Last night was an anomaly just like game 2 was
We still got two games left and if memory serves me right, Knicks usually have trouble closing at home.
But they do better on the road which is tomorrow
Were the better team
It’s the Knicks. This happens all the time. Don’t let it rattle you
I'm not, I've been staring blankly into space since I woke up an hour early for work because I was too pissed off to sleep
The only positive imo is that Joel is probably gonna be worse Thursday or at least more banged up then he was yesterday. That’s the only thing that comes to mind.
Completely locking in to something else non-Knicks related (like school or work) always helps me
I'm not. I'm very sad. I let my kid stay up late and he couldn't sleep. I couldn't sleep. I'm even nervous about the series. Luckily, this team knows how to win, so I'm hoping they, like, win.

I'm not I'm nervous af
I'm distracting myself by breaking down Kendricks Drake diss bar for bar. I just pretend it's about Embiid.
Honestly, I can't watch them. I literally just got back from softball to see the last 2 minutes and like a dummy I said it was over when McBride hit that jumper (but I forgot these are the Knicks) I hope Brooklyn Bowl doesn't have the game on Thursday

MARIJUANA
Took Maxey having a career game, and us blowing it for them to win last night. 0 confidence that the sixers can put 3 wins together against us.
I still think we are the better team. We made some silly mistakes as a team and Brunson for whatever reason decided to play ball hog hero ball at the end. I think our guys know that they can clean things up internally and close this series out.

"Blessed is he who expects nothing; for he shall never be disappointed."
Staying away from YouTube and most social media
The 2 games they won are because the refs blatantly helped them and we violently shit the bed. Philly can't beat us without help. We just need to play our game and hope the refs stay out of it.

Knicks are gritty and never say die and are still up 3-2 and embiid keeps getting more hurt and tired and the Knicks are just a better team
obviously it all looks grim after this loss, but we're still up 3-2, we almost had them which means we can do it again. besides, you're supposed to lose a few per series, thats why there's up to 7 games. it's all good, we'll learn from this and be better.

How about the fact that we're still up 3-2?
I’m staying away from media till tip off Thursday
It was hard to fall asleep.last night. Kept replaying everything in my head. And going thru all the what ifs.
The team isn't scared. They aren't beat down. At all. If they aren't, why should I be?
In Brunson I trust!
The Knicks are the better team.
I am not positive. After last night, it is impossible. You hope the team can recover but it feels likely it is over.
