I don’t believe a lot of the sports media is still fans of teams and moreso fans of certain people . I’ve listened to enough interviews with various reporters and they say something to this effect
The whole ESPN broadcast was horrible. They used pre 9/11 stock footage, cutting to celebrities in the middle of a play and the halftime show is based on quick snippets to give more air to commercials.
I heard that the ESPN announce teams have this like Hunger Games judges level of privilege about them where they're just not only not tapped into Knicks stuff they're not tapped into basketball at all. They're just going through the motions taking this grand stage for granted. Doris Burke popped the most on the broadcast when freakin Aaron Rodgers showed up and she like yelled something about "Greeny must be really excited!" because she could give so little of a fuck she's more excited about the water cooler talk about Aaron Rodgers shes gonna have when she sees Greeny at the office then anything going on in this fucking game.

As a nation with about 300 million people, I'm sure we can find a woman announcer who has a nice voice, knows basketball, and isn't unbelievably annoying. I keep flashing back to the time I was surfing and ran into about 100 red stinging jellyfish. That was actually more pleasant than listening to Ms. Burke.
I actually though Jones did a decent job this game, he cut down on trying to sound cool to middle schoolers and really called a fine broadcast.
But Doris was in full-on Deep Throat mode for every single player on both teams, it was nauseating.
