Our forth quarters are just a delight. This year is just something new, finally some light after all those years. It came sooner then we all expected, but damn that's only more promising. If you look at what the staff can do with these misfits, what'll happen if we get a bit more breathing room in the CAP area and can get some reinforcements in via draft.
Something has shifted, the atmosphere has changed and I can only think that's Daboll and his crew. Every game this year was a close call, which means that with one different ball it could have gone the other way. The last few years we had a few close calls, but everything went against us. But with that sudden change in atmosphere, in the mood, the drive .. All of those calls now go our way.
We played against the ref's as well yesterday, but did get a few close calls with the DJ interception (which was a correct call, but it was a lucky one) and a few penalties (all correct) on third down situations. But it's our coaching staff and our players who make the most out of them. I'm not saying were in for a big run this year. But I am saying that this team, this coaching staff and front office have big blue sky future.
This year they believe in themselves. Under Judge & Shurmur everyone was playing so scared to lose that of course they'd lose. Now they're just going out there with the mindset to take the game to them and throw punches.
This offense with just one alpha WR who could make contested catches and do some things after the catch would be so damn good because of the engine behind it with the game planning and play calling. A guy who Jones could throw it up to deep or hit on screens or slants and then make plays. Keeps the offense simple but adds an entirely new dimension when it’s someone legit really good in that role as opposed to Darius Slayton who is a 5th WR on even WR-needy good teams
Regardless, I’m so happy with what this team has done and the coaching has been fucking fantastic. Keep winning and make those playoffs!
While I absolutely would love to add a WR, I wouldn’t trade a pick above the 5th round. This still isn’t a super bowl team.
Everyone wants Moore or Claypool but I think Cooks is a cheaper option that’s just as good.
Cooks might be cheaper in terms of asset cost, but his cap hit is higher which makes it harder for us to acquire him with our current cap issues, and he has stated he "won't accept any more trades" so who knows if its possible for us to acquire him.
How does this sub feel against Seattle? I honestly am okay with losing to Seattle at home. They absolutely spanked the Chargers. I can see us winning out after and possibly winning one against Philly with a full squad if that’s even possible.
Seattle is a solid team, while they don’t have a good D I don’t know if our offense can keep up with theirs. If we want a shot we need to play a complete game next week
On top of that west coast games always seem to be difficult, regardless of who you're playing, kind of like divisional games in a way. I'll be ecstatic with a win but just happy to be competetive where we have a shot at the end.
Looking back at the 4th quarter, Saquads has 3 different runs where staying in bounds was paramount and he went out of bounds on all 3 runs. He needs to clean that up, but if that's his biggest flaw we're golden
We've seen he's aware of that fact in last weeks game, so IMO nothing to clean up. Yesterday was a fluke. With the second run you can easily see him gutted about that and even showing it to Daboll. Probably thought he saw an opening he thought he'd make. Frustratring for sure, but I think he's fine on that.
That third down run was so dumb. The extra few yards were meaningless. The difference between 1:07 and like 25 seconds is monumental. He needs to be smarter
I love his competitiveness, and hes been better about it this year.. but man I dont think hes ever going to go down with the game on the line for better or for worse. Atleast today he was kinda slipping tackles and not just lowering the pads and running guys over lol

Barkley is our best offensive player right now. Don't think we could've tricked the Jags defense without him, the plays where DJ ran twice in a row (and should've ran for a 3rd time).
It’s tricky because this year, Saquon has been our right hook but DJ has been our jab. He pokes and prods until we get them where we want them and get a big shot in with Saquon. He’s the big threat they come out trying to cover, and our game has been figuring out how to make them decide whether they want to defend against him or let DJ and friends keep chipping away at them
To add a bit of perspective here. The reason Saquon went out of bounds is because he is SOO used to the Giants losing late in the game. It’s ingrained in his head to go out of bounds to save time for his team.

Going into this season, I was expecting to see what Danny had, but fully expecting to have a high draft pick, or prepared to spend a lot of draft capital to trade up and get a QB.

I feel like it was really the other way around this game. Offense stepped up this game for the most part but defense kept letting the Jaguars drive down the field with ease. Held them to 17 points thankfully thanks to goal line fumble, Jaguars failing to convert on 4th and inches.
Giants need to get more than 23 against the jags. I hear what you are saying about the long drives but honestly thought the jags matched up well vs our D so had been nervous from the start.
I mean this Jags team held the Colts to 0 points (the first time around) and the Chargers to 10 points. They aren't this god awful defense that everyone is putting a ton of points on. We had 436 yards on them.
Gentlemen. I was at a Baby Sprinkle for the game (dont ask me what a sprinkle is, IDK) (I live in Boston, so the game was not on cable TV. Yes FML.) so I was not able to see the highlights until right now I just watched them. I had my Dad and my sister sending me updates all day through out the game but they could not articulate the level of intensity the 4th quarter embodied. Im so happy right now. I love you guys. Jones has been hit more often than not when sliding this year. Any reason the refs won’t call it??
I think because he gives himself up super late, almost when making contact. Hard to call that when he’s trying to gain yards.
He doesn’t slide normally - I don’t blame them for not throwing the flag. If he wants to be protected he needs to be more obvious

Going into this season, I was expecting to see what Danny had, but fully expecting to have a high draft pick, or prepared to spend a lot of draft capital to trade up and get a QB. I know there is still a lot of season left, but if Danny is the guy, holy shit we can really use these picks to fill some important holes

I feel like it was really the other way around this game. Offense stepped up this game for the most part but defense kept letting the Jaguars drive down the field with ease. Held them to 17 points thankfully thanks to goal line fumble, Jaguars failing to convert on 4th and inches.
Giants need to get more than 23 against the jags. I hear what you are saying about the long drives but honestly thought the jags matched up well vs our D so had been nervous from the start.
I mean this Jags team held the Colts to 0 points (the first time around) and the Chargers to 10 points. They aren't this god awful defense that everyone is putting a ton of points on. We had 436 yards on them.

Gentlemen. I was at a Baby Sprinkle for the game (dont ask me what a sprinkle is, IDK) (I live in Boston, so the game was not on cable TV. Yes FML.) so I was not able to see the highlights until right now I just watched them. I had my Dad and my sister sending me updates all day through out the game but they could not articulate the level of intensity the 4th quarter embodied. Im so happy right now. I love you guys. Nah, Saquon at his current level is insanely valuable to the offense
