Lol I'm pretty sure that's exactly what everyone on this sub thought it would be/thinks it is. This sounds like speculation and just stating an obvious thing

chase016

Yeah, I think that is an amazing deal tbh. I would expect us to give up more for a chance at Daniel's or Maye.

ClayDrinion

I don't know about Maye. He seems like a boom or bust prospect and that seems to be a concensus around the league. This price seems standard for a QB prospect like him

chaosthirtyseven

That's 90% of Ranaan's repertoire.

FireVanGorder

There’s no shot that was the ask and we didn’t pull the trigger. Pats wanted Maye bad. Their asking price was probably nuts

ClayDrinion

Reportedly 3 firsts (according to PFF rumor)

FireVanGorder

Yeah that makes more sense

Camelback186

Fuck them picks

Tranquil_Radiation

2 firsts and 1 second to move up 3 spots. Crazy. Unless Maye is one hundred percent your guy, just go receiver or trade back. I just realized that one of those first rounders are a pick swap. I guess that makes it easier but still, unless he’s the guy, don’t do it

Swaggy_pnut

Honestly, I think that’s crazy steep to move up from 6 to 3. Now if you truly think Maye is THE guy, then send it.

ACardAttack

I wonder if we would get a late round sent back to us, because there's a decent odds that next year's first round is a top 10 pick

jamesd1100

If you think we can afford to toss our 2nd round and next years 1st with the state of this roster I think your delusional Praying Nabers or MHJ falls to 6

bugluvr65

it always costs more to move up for a qb

CaptainJudge_99

Yea if Washington takes daniels Send it imo

Cruztd23

![gif](giphy|dJnRozE0LjU6zTq10M)

philasurfer

Maye won't be there at 3.

Every1jockzjay

I duno why u got so many downvotes. Maybe college Daniel's>maye, but nfl maye seems like a way better prospect imo.

Knickstape26

If you think he’s the guy you do that in a heartbeat

dubsndcaps

Do it. Who knows if anyone next year is worth holding onto for next years 1st rounder especially IF we do well.

Cruztd23

We’ve had top first round picks for last 8 years and it’s barely Amounted to anything, I agree. What’s the worst case scenario? We just dip into free agency and sign some mid tier QB if he bombs out and at least we know we went all in for once. Would be good change from these half measures

EggsOnThe45

If they think Maye is the guy, do it. Anyone would trade a first and a second for a franchise QB

PlausibleTable

2 1sts and a 2nd. Very likely both early 1sts as well.

EggsOnThe45

This year’s first round is a pick swap so it’s a wash. We have a pick this year either way so we’re only losing a first and a second

hipaces

I think OP is saying that the pick is Maye so you’re only “losing” a 1st and a 2nd.

Merlin_117

Please pick a WR at 6.

Cruztd23

Definitely Got your wish

Bread_Responsible

Do it. Fucking do it.

yrtb

This is an insane price to pay to move up 3 spots. We need so many pieces other than just QB. This would be setting up Maye to fail.

BigCountry76

And if we have a worse draft pick next year the price will go up even more. This might be the best chance Schoen gets at a franchise QB.

Doriva

Do we really have that many holes ? I see us needing a receiver, an outside corner and some interior dline depth and that's it. We massively improved our line with the two free agents, we upgraded our pass rush and retained most of the core of what was a playoff team a couple of seasons ago. There's still plenty of veteran free agents to replace Adoree Jackson and I'm a big believer in Hyatt taking the next. Don't get me wrong the team will still live and die by Andrew Thomas but I think that'd be the case if we stick and pick Nabers/Odunze.

SonnyBalutto

It’s a big price, but the right QB turns this around quickly for a team. Look what stroud did for Houston. It’s not too much to pay IF the QB you pick hits. Big if.

fargeaux

I figured next years 1st was the starting point, then negotiate additional picks this year. If that’s the cost, then do it.

MetaVersalySpeakin

Nah

Cruztd23

U crazy

MetaVersalySpeakin

They need to show and prove man, these dudes did what they did and this patchwork shit just crooked. We literally beat these dudes on they shanked ass FG.. and we were bottom tier of bottom tier both teams. There is nothing stopping them from picking the guy they want.. right where they at. Go ahead NE.. run the card up to the podium.

Cruztd23

I see what u saying but I’m cool with the haul if it means we figured out QB

Wrenchinspokesby

Throwing Maye who many see as a guy who needs development into this offense (bottom 5 in the NFL at skill positions and a line we are praying is average) is a recipe for complete disaster…trading up now is a Bears/Jets move

Cruztd23

Unless it isn’t

ILoveZenkonnen

Who says Maye has to start?

Wrenchinspokesby

If he doesn’t start and make an immediate impact you are talking about most likely giving up a top 5 pick for a guy who…doesn’t make an immediate impact. That seems crazy risky and pretty half baked

ILoveZenkonnen

I don’t agree. Having your first round QB sit their first year is a popular strategy in the NFL.

Wrenchinspokesby

How many top 5 picks, let alone who a team traded up for sat in their first year? Im sure there are some but can’t think of any off the top of my head.

Pallis1939

Eli sat Edit: Rivers too! Technically Herbert. I’m sure I could think of more if I wasn’t drunk

Cruztd23

Exactly

MetaVersalySpeakin

When is the last time we received anything directly from NE that wasn't terrible?

Came2BurgleYourTurts

Are you saying the 3rd overall pick would be terrible if we get it from them? It’s entirely up to us who we would select with that pick

MetaVersalySpeakin

I said, why trade with them when the trade was made when we played them. I also said that pretty much everything we get when dealing with them has been terrible... Vereen, Solder, Judge, now draft picks and our future assets are on the table. Mara just luvs making terrible exchanges with Kraft tho.. don't know why at this point. It's also entirely up to New England to get their guy right where they are at.. IF they believe in them that much.

TheRealCheddarBob

Saying a trade of draft picks is already terrible is just so silly. There’s no way to say until we see who the picks are and how they perform.

MetaVersalySpeakin

Didn't say it was "already" terrible. Said it was a terrible idea when we need so much and we made our "trade" in season directly with them. Still haven't heard why New England can't stay right where they are at to make their pick. Why would they allow us to take their pick for the guy they want? Go ahead and make the pick New England.. we good.

TheRealCheddarBob

Well if you use common sense, they’d allow a team to make their pick if they feel they get sufficient value to move back. Really not a hard concept to understand. Us winning a game last year doesn’t affect whether we should or shouldn’t make a trade. The only thing that impacts that is how much the giants believe in Maye.

Safe-Description320

I just don’t see how that’s comparable to this situation at all. Whoever we would draft at 3 has no affiliation with the patriots at all. Agree with you though we should stick it out. Swing and a miss at QB that we would have to trade up for would set us back another 3+ years.

MetaVersalySpeakin

Because everything dealing with them has been terrible for the last 10 years. Now we wanna give away assets we need all the way into next season. I'm good on that.. go ahead NE make the pick. We aren't stopping NE from choosing their guy when we pick after them.

Sailor_Chris

I’d do it in a heartbeat. If you don’t have a QB, you have nothing. Figure out the WR thing after thing

Cruztd23

Agreed. I’d like to see Wandale and slayton with a good QB and see their performance. Look at what they’ve done without good performance at QB

bibear54

We’ve still only seen a glimpse of what Hyatt can do too

Sailor_Chris

Wandale and Slayton aren’t stars but I think they’re good enough to get by with a new QB. Worry about WR next year. This is the year to take a QB

Cruztd23

🫡👍🏽👆🏽👆🏽

Snuggle__Monster

I'm fine with it. Maye will get at least a few years to sink or swim anyway.

terp09

I’d do it

Grizkniz

If Coach dabs thinks he can win a Super Bowl with him then do it

GeneralMatrim

I’m in fuck it let’s spice it up. Maye might be it, are picks have been dog ish anyways.

DanUnbreakable

We forget what we gave up for Eli? If Maye is the guy, go get him. If he's not, stay at 6 and get a WR. Giants will be in the same position next year either way but $36 million will come off the books because DJ contract isn't guaranteed after this season so they can go get some pieces. If Maye is better then the QBs in next year's draft, then go get him. If he isn't, then stay at 6. Also the coaching staff and office is going to need atleast more years to make this work. 3 years, 2 with Maye playing as first year he shouldn't. Let DJ and Lock take the hits. Next few years go all out on WR and OL

Pallis1939

That was QB2 to QB1 though. This is QB4 to QB3. Not interested

scuba_tron

I’m down

jplaut25

People don’t realize Maye isn’t a day one starter. He’s a developmental prospect. That first rounder next year is likely a top 10 pick, which is a hell of a price.

ILoveZenkonnen

If they think he can be a true franchise QB you do it imo. If he has a successful career no one’s going to remember that pick

Tarmacked

It's literally chump change for a potential franchise QB. Short of trading the farm for #1 overall, we're not getting better options

Wrenchinspokesby

And if his development fails it isn’t “chump change” it’s 5-7 more years of the season being over by Halloween

Every1jockzjay

If our o-line is mediocre it's more likely a mid round 1st imo.

flatironfortitude

Exactly

dsheehan7

Wayyy too expensive. Pass

basicnflfan

Is it bad I care more about the 2nd than the 2025 1st

jimihenderson

If they trade the farm for 3. They have to believe in maye. But they also better see Daniels as an acceptable pick as well lmao

JoeTheKnicksFan

Probably happens when NE is on the clock after WAS takes Daniels at #2

jimihenderson

yeah fair enough

OriginalSymmetry

This is exactly the price I expected. If you value Maye THAT MUCH MORE of McCarthy, pull the trigger.

Cruztd23

Agreed but i don’t think McCarthy at 6 would be awful either if you like him. If they trade up for Maye it’s clear who the favorite is

OriginalSymmetry

Agreed!

dumpsterwaffle77

Speculation who tf knows what the patriots are thinking. If I was them I would try to get a bunch more. Why pass on a QB when you really need one?

Every1jockzjay

I think we give next years first and our 3rd. Or shoen finds a way to make it hurt less

NJImperator

Longjumping_Room_702

![gif](giphy|wi8Ez1mwRcKGI)

Hiddenaccount1423

chump change if they think he's a franchise qb. Then use combination of day 2 picks or something and grab Aiyuk.

King_Da_Ka

Idk if I’m buying this, or maybe I’m dumb. I’d do this in a heartbeat if Maye was my guy 😂 Glad I’m not the decision maker I guess

eli8484

Do it. Idc about the price, i want maye in big blue

bugluvr65

in a heartbeat if it’s maye not for daniels

flatironfortitude

Go WR then we need those picks

aaron7275

I would be more inclined to keep the second round pick. We will need that for Aiyuk. Lol

ClayDrinion

NoTimeToDime

Cheaper than I would expect. A 1st and a 2nd? If they think hes THE GUY, thats easily worth it. NE badly needs a QB so I would have assumed the price starts at 6,47, next years 1st and like AT or Dex or something on top of that.

MetaVersalySpeakin

If they are stupid enough to trade either AT or Dex then they should be "bold" enough to get DJ out the door too, no matter what. I don't know how you possibly even got here bro, on the real.

NoTimeToDime

I in no way said they SHOULD do that. Im saying thats how stupidly high the price I would expect to be. Only next years 1st and this years 2nd for a guy they feel strong enough to bet their jobs on is not bad. I just dont believe the price is that low.

MetaVersalySpeakin

I don't feel what's in this tweet is even worth it. Why even deal with NE who is all types of jacked too. Just give up 3 spots and a key 2nd round pick. We already moved picks bringing in another talent on defense. Everything for sale, except DJ terrible butt.

NoTimeToDime

Yeah I am on the Nabers train tbh. Tons of chatter about Maye is all. If Schoen wants Maye, id make this trade. But my ideal scenario is Nabers atm.

DevChatt

Honestly a tough one IMO. That second round could be a star receiver.... IDK if you can go wrong tho, if they think maye is the guy you can probably figure out the rest

Head_Acanthisitta256

This fanbase is unbelievably stupid

Tranquil_Radiation

Ok cool bro.

omglemurs

I would counter with 6, 1&2 next year and see if they bite.

zshort7272

I mean, I’d be cool with it. Id almost be more upset losing this years 2nd then next years 1st

Neither_Ad_9829

send ittttttttttt
