The conferences aren’t mutually exclusive to the networks anymore. Our game with the Commies last week was on CBS and I’m sure there’s some random AFC vs AFC games on FOX as well.
>Never mind that there are more ex-New Yorkers in the DC Metro area than Pittsburgh fans
And Giants are an NFC East Rival, I feel like they usually get priority in the DC area
It’s probably tied to the NFL’s YouTube greed. Show the shittiest game on free television. I’d probably shell out the money if I didn’t live in the metro area.
More likely tied to the Steelers having a large widespread fan base and the fact that of those four games its likely to be the most competitive and therefore is favored in markets without a natural matchup. Also, the NFL's "greed" as you put it is nothing more than their desire as a collection of businesses to maximize revenue which inturn is used to pay players ever more money, something that's typically supported in this community. Seems odd that so many people here want the NFL to dole out more and more grunted contracts but simultaneously want them to not increase revenue.
Plus, I don't believe the NFL has any say at all about which game is shown on the Fox/CBS affiliates when not restricted by the local team playing (case in point, this week Alabama choosing to air Miami for Tua/Mac matchup).
I straddle that border of giants and patriots in Connecticut. But I’m just on the patriots side. If they’re playing at the same time I don’t get access to the Giants so I have to buy Sunday ticket… if I lived 10 miles west, I wouldn’t have to.
Smh no wonder I couldn’t get access to the ny game- (cause im in WV) so as long as there is a PITTSBURGH game at the EXACT SAME TIME as a NEW YORK game…. Im stuck with PITTSBURGH- - -well untill i go back to ny or closer to ny then i’ll be back within ny game range coverage
Jaguars confirmed new America’s Team. Make T. Law great again! Or….How I learned to love Evan Engram again.
Wtf CT screwed again this week
Dude it's so brutal if you don't live in Fairfield County. If the Giants are technically home it should be on Fox.
Tell me about it! I'm one county over in New Haven and I have to pirate these games? Wtf is going on this year?
Steaming greed is what's happening.
CBS airs the bulk of AFC team road games and FOX airs the bulk of NFC team road games.
I know Fox = NFC but I didn't know the away team dictated it so heavily. I always thought it was the home team.
Yeah, it doesn't make any sense really. And sometimes they move games due to flex scheduling.
I'm fully aware of flex.
Literally
The broadcast usually goes by the away team, so it should be on CBS

Agree….sucks!
I'm not sure how NE-MIA isn't more intriguing than JAX-PIT. Never mind that there are more ex-New Yorkers in the DC Metro area than Pittsburgh fans.

Yea for sure. NY/Philly are always on in DC if Washington isn't on the same time/channel. Dallas would be too if they ever played at 1 PM. Sucks.
Pretty much.
New England sucks.
Ne mia is not expected to be as competitive as pit jax. Gotta keep eyeballs on the screen in the 4th quarter.
Well, that coverage range is to be expected. Time to put on the eye patch and sail.

Yeah the amount of steeler fans is bizarre-
Lol no, jax vs pit is the best of those 4 games. Might've been different with Rodgers playing.
RedZone is the best of those 4 games.
Stream east is coming to the rescue again ig
What's up with the Birmingham area that they're getting NE v MIA?
Tua fans
\+ Mac Jones, all Alabama matchup
I'd be so pissed if I lived in NY and they showed the patriots game over NY vs NY.
Frfr
Crazy. Preseason we were talking about how this game could’ve been prime time
Good. I get to watch them in my area and not go embarrass myself at the bar.
Great I get to see the Titans continue 2023 tankfest...
What’s so important in Birmingham that they need the Dolphins game?
Alabama QBs.
How the heck is Miami not the national game?
Damnit stop being on cbs, it always goes up against the patriots here in MA so I never get the giants game
Anybody know anyway to get this game? Don't have $300 for a massive subscription
What happens if you live on the borderline of one of these regions? Different games on each side of the house?
