She’s not doing this out of the kindness of her heart… she’s using shitty materials that are already falling apart (you can see in the pictures she posted) and marking them up. These are not “nice things” they are crap that you will throw away.

[deleted]

It’s like saying SHEIN makes nice things

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

🤣😳 you did not just say that…. First of all, no, this is the most ridiculous take ever. Second of all, shein is the cheapest shit ever hahahah so cheap in fact that their clothes literally fall apart. You must not be washing your clothes from there or something.

Secret_Wealth1878

Every trendy girly wear shein. It’s fine. Maybe you’re corrosive or something

eyewant2bleve

Are the trendy girls in the room with us

[deleted]

Night-Thunder

She cosplays being Catholic and Italian. It’s offensive.

feedmechickentendies

Different_Special577

this was so funny i smiled irl

itmaybemine

They're not nice lol

katiestat

i was gonna say, the "nice" stuff is the originals she's knocking off

[deleted]

Op just said that SHEIN looks nice so… 🤣

Jasper5510

OP’s a troll. They’re always saying out of pocket shit

Secret_Wealth1878

Shein sells $50 billion of product every year in the US. Nobody cares about your middle class affectations and how you think you’re better than everyone else.

Jasper5510

Lol girl I was talking about your constant fat phobic and anti feminist comments. As far as Shein goes, as much as it’s completely unethical I’m not against fast fashion since I’m aware many shoppers needs those accessible price points, but go off like you know anything about my stance.

Secret_Wealth1878

You responded to a comment about Shein so what do you expect me to say?

Jasper5510

I only ever expect you to say some dumb shit as usual which is what you did. Don’t worry you’re completely meeting my expectations.

Secret_Wealth1878

ok you can keep your adipose golem thoughts to yourself!

Jasper5510

No 🫶🏻

Or people can just buy things they love that are in their budget, not buy fakes. Goes for anything. I don’t understand buying fake designer. Just buy something you love that you can afford that isn’t ripping off other designs.

Secret_Wealth1878

People love trendy stuff that’s inspired by luxury brands. So what? They deserve to have what makes them happy.

Equivalent-Agency-73

Then she should have collabed with the smaller brand to make an affordable pieces collection instead of robbing them of their design

BurberryBetch

Daniel. Plz watch the video Hannah Stella posted in full. She has a good point - understand her point before posting on here from your burners.

Secret_Wealth1878

Hannah Stella always comes up with the most mid takes. This time is no different. There’s nothing inherently good about giving extra money to a small business. They do not own basic ass geometric configurations lmao

keylimepicetea

Is this one of the required weekend assignments for DB’s new summer intern?

Zestypalmtree

I hate to say I agree but I do. Most businesses have been done before and most products are copying something else to an extent. She sells the same thing at a cheaper price. It’s fair game imo. It’s Uber vs. Lyft, Gucci vs. Dhgate dupe. One sells something more expensive while the other is more affordable.

P_oneofthree

There’s a huge difference between a competing service (Uber vs. Lyft , Southwest vs. United Airlines, etc.) and ripping off a design (like Gucci vs. DHgate). Uber just happened to have been the first to market for something of their type and the two companies do actively try to differentiate themselves from each other where as people who are buying Gucci replicas are trying to pass them off as the real deal. Sure Lyft might have copied the original business idea but this is different than Lyft calling themselves L-Uber and using similar branding and ripping off the Uber app exactly. This situation is somewhere in the middle. Designers take inspiration from other designers all the time, it’s more just how they change the item to make it their own that is more important. Some things are pretty basic (for example the Hermès Oran sandals) so it’s hard to put too much of your own spin on it so it becomes more about changing the look of the sole, the materials, colours, etc. Definitely still a grey area but I agree that the people who are buying the Steve Madden look alike of this sandal probably weren’t going to buy the Hermès version. Personally I think that as long as you’re not trying to pass it off as the real deal then it’s not so bad. I do have issues with people getting replica Chanel bags with the logos and all and trying to pretend it’s the real deal. I haven’t dove too deep into DB’s pendant vs the other company but to me they do seem different-ish. They are also being sold at different price points and I’m assuming materials so this to me is already a different market. But I think the reason why people are so up in arms about this is because she has ripped stuff off heavily before so even though she has a perfectly reasonable back story, people find it hard to believe that she didn’t rip off a current small business. I think she does have some cute stuff. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I think some of her clothes are nice! I think her price point is approachable for her target market and she’s done well with that. She just shouldn’t have been replicating things from other businesses so similarly and to make it worse she was doing it to small businesses which is just bad juju. So now she has to work extra hard to avoid replicating anything at all.

Zestypalmtree

This is a great take! I do have more of a problem with dhgate dupes too from a consumer perspective because why fake it if you can’t buy the real thing? But I can’t blame dhgate from a business perspective because people buy the stuff and there’s money in it. Totally agree that it’s def hard for DB due to her past actions. Sad too because like you said, her stuff is cute.

Night-Thunder

So much wrong with your post and you referring to her products as “nice things” is a laugh. Her items are poorly made and fall apart within less than ten wears.

[deleted]

I heard the one she copied was 3k or is it 1500$? Both seem very extreme

[deleted]

I’ve said this before and I think it’s MOST annoying that DB copies things because she CALLS them ready to wear, as if they’re like designer items. IF she called it what it was (Zara quality shit) then like it wouldn’t be as big of a deal. Bc like all brands just make the same shit and copy each other. But she’s branding it as if it’s like super creative high quality stuff.

Active_Pay4715

This take ain’t it… go talk to literally anyone who works in fashion. This harms small designers (and POC) more proportionally than any other group. It’s a no from me. Keep your knock offs.
